Meet Mary Elizabeth Williams:

She is a staff writer for Salon. Her recent column on why she is pro-abortion would be considered a sick joke if she wasn't so serious.

The title alone gives you a clue about where she is heading, So what if abortion ends a life? Yes she is admitting that abortion takes the life of a human being. But she is so callous that she thinks it is OK.

Why? Because she says that "All life is not created equal." You read that right. She is basically repudiating the Declaration of Independence, endorsing Hitler's attempts to kill the Jewish people because they were inferior & not fully human, & fully embracing Margaret Sanger's racist, eugenic agenda.

The last should be no surprize for those reading the article. It was written to applaud Planned Parenthood's recent announcement that they were backing away from the term choice & seeking to be more nuanced about why someone should be able to have an abortion.

She is somewhat aware of how this makes the pro-abortion side look. She says they could "wind up looking like death-panel-loving, kill-your-grandma-and-your-precious-baby storm troopers". No, it makes them look like something much worse. Something she fails to admit.

She fails to admit what this actually makes them look like because of what it justifies if you follow it to her logical conclusion. So where does her logic lead? Let's take a look.

I already made some reference to others who held this view & how they lived it out. Hitler's agenda led to the death of 6 million Jews. Sanger & Planned Parenthood have been doing their best to ensure the elimination of blacks & hispanics whom she saw as racially inferior, not equal to her idea of what a human should be.

So, if someone sees blacks as less than equal to whites, why shouldn't he own blacks as slave? If you follow her logic, that is where you end up. 

Now I am sure she will deny that it would lead to this. But remember, many slave owners did view blacks as not being humans, just property. & in the Dredd Scott decision, the Supreme Court affirmed that view. Their lives weren't equal to that of whites. We have already been there in this country, so why not again.

So who decides which lives have more value. In this case, she has decided that the mother's life is. But who made her the final authority?  

She would say that in this case, she isn't the final authority, but the woman is. But if the woman can decide that about her child, then why can't that same right to decide extend to everyone about everyone else?

If every life is not equal, who is to be the final arbitrator of who deserves to live & who doesn't?

What is to prevent another Hitler from coming along & deciding that Jews, blacks or even women are lives that are not equal to the group he wants in charge?

Much as she may not like it, her view justifies racism, it justifies racial cleansing, it justifies slavery, treating women as 2nd class as well as the evil of abortion. Much as I hate to say it, she is saying that it was OK for Adam Lanza to kill his mother as well as the students & teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School. After all, he could very well have seen himself as better than those he killed. Her logic could even be used to justify rape. That it could makes me sick. 

Williams has drawn back the curtain & shown us the demonic evil behind what she advocates. The sad part is that among those embracing the "culture of death" this won't be shocking at all. Even sadder is the fact that, because or devaluation of life has been so gradual, a huge part of America as a whole won't be shocked either. If an abortion supporter had said this 35 years ago, you can be sure that abortion would have quickly been banned. But because of that devaluation, she is simply one of those showing us the way we are heading. She is much like Peter Singer in that respect. Remember that he said that a human being has to earn the right to live, it doesn't come automaticly, before or after birth .

In his homily at Mass yesterday, Fr. Parker (St. Mary's Catholic Church, E DBQ), said that we need more people to pray for this country lest it be destroyed. He added that what has probably kept it from already happen is that some people have been praying as they should.

Please, please, keep praying if you do, for this country to repent & return to God. If not, then please start. & challenge others to do the same. Apparently it still isn't too late. But for how long?

Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - 2013

Some thoughts as we remember Dr King this day.

Yup, that is right, he was a Republican, not a Democrat. People forget that as well as the fact that it was the Democratic Party that opposed what he stood for. 

Let's start with what he did in Alabama. From November 1874 to January 1987, the governor was a Democrat. The Democrats controlled the legislature that created the 1875 & 1901 state constitutions as well as the Jim Crow Laws that enshrined racial segregation. It is also safe to say that most of those in charge on the local level as well as the judges of the 50s & 60s were Democrats as well.

He was indicted, convicted  & jailed for his part in the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 55-56. When he was arrested in Birmingham in 63, George Wallace, a Democrat, was governor. He is remembered for the line in his 1st inaugural speech where he said "Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever."

It was under Kennedy & Johnson that J. Edgar Hoover did all the digging into his life trying to prove & failing, that King was a communist so that Hoover could destroy his effectiveness as a civil rights leader.

Sadly, King was taken in by Planned Parenthood when he accepted their Margaret Sanger Award in 1966. Actually Coretta King accepted it for him. His niece, Alveda  King, as well as her mother, Naomi Barber King (MLK's sister-in-law) have made it clear he was Pro-life. The fact is, the award was a part if Planned Parenthood's ongoing implementation of Sanger's Negro Project, using black leaders to disguise her racist eugenics policy.

Rev. King did what he did based on his Christian faith. His example stands as a shining light to guide us in the Pro-life movement who are fighting to put an end to abortion. He would definitely be speaking out against abortion & would especially be decrying those black leaders who are helping the abortion industry kill off blacks & other minorities (See Maafa 21 for more.) 

It is the Abortion Supporters Who Want to Push Back the Clock, To the Era of Eugenics Sanger Wanted

You regularly hear that it is pro-lifers that want to turn back the clock 40 years to the dark days before abortion was legal. But the truth is different, it is those supporting abortion that really want to turn the clock back to the early part of the 20th Century, in part by supporting the eugenics agenda that Margaret Sanger created Planned Parenthood to promote.

Part of that agenda was enforced sterilization of what she said were the feeble minded. Unfortunately, that part of the agenda was put into law across the USA. & contined to take place up into the 70s.

A huge number of those involuntary sterilizations were done on African-Americans & Native Americans. (See Maafa 21 for more)

What Margaret Sanger's supporters don't want to admit is that her eugenics movement in the USA played a huge part in inspiring Nazi Germany to do the same. In fact, the still existing, pro-abortion Rockefeller Foundation helped develop and fund various German eugenics programs, including the one that Josef Mengele worked in before he went to Auschwitz.

Well, it looks like we are heading back to those dark days. But this should be no surprize because eugenics, abortion & forced sterilization are all part of the "culture of death" that Sanger wanted this country to embrace. & Nevada is taking a lead in it.

In this case it is the Washoe County Social Services who are following the example of Nazi Germany & Communist China. They want 32 year old Elisa Bauer, who suffers from severe mental & physical disabilities attributed to fetal alcohol syndrome, to be forced to undergo an abortion, killing her 11 week old preborn child. Then they want her to be sterilized as well.

After learning Bauer was pregnant, Washoe County Social Services issued an informal report requesting that the Court set a status hearing to address the potential health effects Elisa’s pregnancy could have on her & her unborn child.  The reason for the abortion is the potential harm the anti-epileptic medication would do to the baby. Note, I said potential, not actual.

After reviewing all the facts, Dr. Michael Czerkes, an OB/GYN at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine said "Monitoring and screening in pregnancy is the recommended course of treatment in pregnancy for a baby who has been exposed to an anti-epileptic medication, not abortion. The risk of having a congenital abnormality is increased when taking these medications; however the risk is not great enough to recommend the ending of the pregnancy.” (emphasis mine)

Bauer is under the legal guardianship of her adoptive parents, William & Amy Bauer. She is said to have the mental & social capacity of a 6-year-old. But she is capable enough top know what is going on & that she cannot care for the child after he or she is born. The Bauers support her decision. They are following all the prenatal protocol for high-risk pregnancies. They have already lined up six qualified couples who are eager to adopt Elisa’s child once he or she is born.

It is clear to me that Wahoe County Social Services has sold out to the "culture of death" & their lies. The staff clearly see Bauer & her preborn child as something less than human.

Please pray that the judge will rule against the social services agency & in favor of Bauer & her child. They both deserve much better that Washoe Social Services wants them to have..

Doctor Who - The New Season

As any Doctor Who fan knows, tonite marks the start of the 7th Series of the show since it returned to the air in 2005. While there have been 14 episodes announced, not all the details have come out, including the plots of all the episodes. Thanks to my connections I have been able to discover the plots of 2 of those episodes. Here is what I have found out about them*:

MATERNIA 

This story  is a flashback to the 6th season when Amy & Rory are still expecting Melody (River). Because of the uncertainty that keeps cropping up, he takes them to the planet Maternia which is known for giving the best prenatal care in the universe regardless of species. When he gets there he finds that the planet has been renamed Sanger & is now ruled by the evil empress, Ceciler & her consort Brocko. Brocko had recently run for president, but disguised his real beliefs until he could get elected. Cecile & her Planned Parenthood Federation Intersteller gang were secretly behind his election & poured in huge amounts of money to get him elected. The PPFI are a race of pink humanoids. They came from a distant galaxy after being exiled for promoting abortion. After the election, Brocko, declares martial law. He also nationalizes all of the maternity clinics & turns them over to the head of the HHS, Sibally.  Under her, the clinics are turned into abortion clinics run by the telemed robots.
Sibally & several other members of Brockos administration turn out to be PPFI. They overthrow Brocko & install Ceciler as empress. Brocko, who was very narcisistic & is shocked by his loss of power, so he begins to go mad. Ceciler kept him arround for amusement which is why he is officially her consort.
They also begin their eugenics plan to eliminate anyone who isn't ideal geneticly, which means only those who are of the PPFU. Now, if a pregnant woman comes in, instead of getting prenatal care, every woman is forced to have an abortion. As the TM Robert performs the abortion with the aide of robotic nurses, they scream "abort, abort, ABORT!!!!!"
Meanwhile, those who opposed what was going on have been shipped off to the planet's moon renamed Marie Stopes^. They are sent to the mines as slaves to mine the mineral RU-486 which is used for the abortions. There is also a huge Pro-life underground still on planet.
The Tardis landed near a clinic, so the Doctor, Amy & Rory are unaware of the changes. They go into the clinic. While Rory & the Doctor wait, Amy is taken into an examination room. As they start to force Amy to take the RU-486 she begins to scream & tries to escape. Fortunately the Doctor & Rory hear her. They are able to rush in & save Amy, disabling the TM Robot & restoring the original programs to the Nurse robots.
Soon, they connects up with the pro-life underground who have been working to overthrow Empress Ceciler. With the help of the underground, the Doctor is able to destroy the main computer operating the Telemed Robots.
Meanwhile, as the Pro-life underground peacefully takes over the palace, Ceciler & Brocko are trapped in a room on the upper floor. Brocko's mind has now completely snapped & his anger to Ceciler turns into rage. He throws her out the window & she is killed.
At the same time, the slaves on the moon are able to take control from those in control. All the PPFI are arrested & locked up to await trial. A temporary government is set up to run things until a free election can be held. All the RU-486 is found & shot into the sun to destroy it.
As the show end, we see Brocko in a padded cell with the Doctor, Amy & Rory watching him via a monitor. He has a totally blank look on his face & can be heard repeating certain phrases  like "It is unfortunate that Amy is being punished with a baby" "Forward" or "You didn't build that maternity clinic."

Attack of The Habitless Hussies

The sepisode starts out where the previous episode ended after the defeat of the Daleks on 45th Century Earth. The camera panned over the destruction ending with the Vatican & St. Peter's Basilica,  lying in ruins. The picture fades to a restored St. Peter's. At this point in the new episode, the camera begins pulling back & we see the familiar shape of Italia. But as we continue we notice it is not Earth but a different planet. We see several other continents, including one on the other side of the globe shaped like Iowa. As we return to St. Peter's a gigantic bus appears in the sky. Cut to opening credits.
The doctor & his new companion name unknown at this time, but female) receive a distress signal & answer it. They find that they have landed in New St. Peter's Square in the 50th Century on Earth.. When they come out they are met by the Camerlengo. He greats them & tells them he is there to take them to an audience with the Pope, Benedict CXVI. As they walk towards the Vatican, the Camerlengo tells the Doctor what happenned.
They are on the planet Vaticano. After the Dalek attack in the 45th Century Pope Pascal XI was killed in the destruction. The cardinals who came in from across the galaxy elected Pope Eugene XXII. At that time it was decided to move Vatican City off world. Over the centuries, as man travelled in space & met new races, the Catholic faith went with them. Many races saw that the Catholic faith the ultimate truths they had long looked for were clearly & unapologeticly proclaimed. So, they converted.  Unfortunately, not everyone agreed. In fact certain groups, like the Leadership Council of Women Religious (LCWR) & their confederates, the Non-orthodox Catholic Reporter clan (NCR) from the Heresia galaxy were among them.
Finally, they settled on this non-inhabited planet which they named Vaticano. A few days ago, the giant bus we saw at the start appeared in the sky. It contained the armies of the LCWR along with some NCR spies.
At this point they are welcomed by Pope Benedict. He explains that the LCWR are a race whose skin is made of polyester & that they always wear pants suits. He says that their faces are those of pure evil. They have laid seige on New Vatican City & are calling for the ordination of women, gay marriage & the deposition of Pope Benedict.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet in the continent shaped by Iowa, the Eternal Word Transuniverse Network (EWTN) complex is being infiltrated by the NCR spies.  EWTN aides the Vatican in promulgating the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church. The NCR spies goal is to attach their secret weapon, the Spiritualizer to the EWTN transmitter. After it is attached, during the Papal audience broadcast the next day, it will send out a beam that will cause all those watching to be possessed by the evil False Spirit of Vatican II.

That evening after Evensong, while the Doctor & the Pope continue their discussion, the new companion goes wandering off & is captured by a LCWR soldier. She is taken to LCWR HQ where they try to turn her into a radical feminist, supporting their agenda. She pretends to go along & later is able to escape. One of the LCWR soldiers realizes what is going on & gives chase. The Doctor & the Pope are on the steps of St. Peter's & see her running. They are able to stop the guard when the Pope, who had been going out to bless the Tardis, accidently sprinkles some of the Holy Water he was carrying on the guard.

The companion found out about the plans to send out the signal via EWTN as well as the simultanious attack on the Vatican. But that night, all the LCWR will be meditating is a group of mazes to prepare.
The Doctor & the Pope decide to attack the LCWR while they are meditating. Arming the Swiss Guards with Holy Water they are able to capture all the LCWR & put them into a temporary force field prison erected by the Doctor.
The Doctor & his companion then head to EWTN to thwart the NCR spies. When they get there they find that the spies, Joanie C (aka Satan's Blueberry Muffin) & The Bishop of Gumbleton have installed the transmitter & are talking with the LCWR leader, Sr. Pat. When they see the Doctor they flee in a minibus after telling the Doctor it is too late.
The Doctor then tries to remove the Spiritualizer as we see a clock in the studio counting down to the broadcast of the Papal audience. Just as the clock reads 0:07 the Doctor succeeds in removing the Spiritualizer.
The next day, the Pope, aided by several Cardinals, performs an exorcism on the captured LCWR. They are then sentanced to life in a cloistered monastery. There they will be required to wear a habit, take a vow of silence, pray the office daily, attend a Traditional Latin Mass each Sunday (weekdays will be Eastern Rite liturgies), read daily from the Catechism as well as hear lectures on what the Catholic Church actually teaches from a member of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
Unfortunately, Sr. Pat & her NCR spies were able to escape & we see their minibus flying off into space.

Margaret Sanger, The Most Influencial Promoter of Evil in the History of the USA

Time Magazine recently came out with its list of The 20 Most Influential Americans of All Time. it describes the list as "The trailblazers, visionaries and cultural ambassadors who defined a nation." While you would expect that list to include people like George Washington, Albert Einstein & Martin Luther King Jr., some people may be surprized to see Margaret Sanger included on this list. After all, she was a promoter of racism & eugenics as well as starting the organization that is the leading cause of death for preborn children.  But when you think about it, it should come as no surprize she is on that list.

Let us remember that our current president & his administration are huge promoters of the "culture of death" that she is one of the architects of. She is also lionized by those in the Main Stream Media who are the propagandists for this culture, including Time Magazine. So by what type of culture they are promoting, she clearly fits into their definition of trailblazer, visionary & cultural ambassador.

The article by (no surprize here either) Gloria Steinem is subtitled with the phrase, "freedom fighter".

The short article is a paean to Sanger that makes her sound like she was a saint that walked on water & did no wrong. But given the fact that the "culture of death" sees abortion as a sacrament, by their definition she is.

The article applauds her "brave and joyous life", saying that it "included fulfilling work, three children, two husbands, many lovers and a large network of friends and colleagues." What it fails to mention is how she was a racist who wanted to get rid of blacks (see Maafa 21 & The Truth About MARGRET SANGER for more). Among the others she wanted to get rid of were Southern Europeans including Italians, like my maternal side of the family. She was also a big fan of eugenics & forced sterilization, despite claims in the article "lived as if she and everyone else had the right to control her or his own life." Forced sterilization isn't exactly allowing a person the right to control his or her body. She also supported compulsory segregation for the severly retarded. I suspect she would be applauding the fact that 90% of Down syndrome children are being aborted these days as that helps keep the white race pure by her standards. Sanger also spoke to a  women's auxiliary of the Ku Klux Klan in Silver Lake, New Jersey that was well received & resulted in more invites to speak elsewhere.

Additionally she was a self-admitted socialist. She was also opposed to all forms of welfare to the poor because they were part of the problem she saw with impuritites in the white race. She wanted them to die out so their genes would be taken out of the mix.

Of course none of this fits into the picture that the people promoting this evil want to present. So they hide the truth about her.

The Steinem piece ends by saying "By word and deed, she pioneered the most radical, humane and transforming political movement of the 20th and 21st centuries." While what she did has radically transformed the culuture, is has been anything but for the better. As for humane, well, all anyone has to do is look at the facts about how Planned Parenthood & other abortion providers actually operate to see that they are anything but humane.

In a sane culture we would be condemning her agenda, not putting it in to action. & above all, we would be listing her with people like Nero, Stalin & Hitler, not Washington & Martin Luther King Jr.

Humanae Vitae 44 Years Later

Today marks the 44th Anniversary of the release of the encyclical Humanae Vitae by Pope Paul VI. Sadly it was rejected from the 1st by many within the Catholic Church who wanted the Church to change its teaching on artificial birth control, something the Church cannot do. It was a follow up & reaffirmation of what  Pope Pius XI wrote the 1930 encyclical Casti connubii (On Christian Marriage). What most people are unaware of with Humanae Vitae is the part that then Archbishop Karol Wojtyła (later Pope John Paul II) played. In 1960 he wrote  Love and Responsibility that defended, from a philosophical point of view, the Church's teaching. His position was  reflected in the final draft of the encyclical. Pope John Paul later expanded on what was found in his writings & these 2 encyclicals in a series of audience talks that has been labeled the Theology of the Body.

While it has been labelled as the anti-birth control encyclical, it contains so much more than that. Like Casti connubi, it reaffirmed the Catholic Church's traditional view of marriage & marital relations. & both also made it clear that sexual intercourse was only for a man & woman joined in marriage. The conjugal act between a man & woman had a distinct dignity & it was unitave & was as procreative purposes. Both encyclicals also condemned abortion. Additionally Casti connubi condemned eugenics laws in force in many places (including the USA) at the time.*

What has been ignored by those inside & out of the Church opposing the Catholic Church's teaching on birth control is how prophetic Humanae Vitae was when it came out. In writing the encyclical it is clear the Holy Spirit gave him insight into what would lie ahead should artificial birth control gain the popularity it has.

In section 17 he said "Let them first consider how easily this course of action could open wide the way for marital infidelity and a general lowering of moral standards." How accurate that has been is self evident. Look at the entertainment industry & what it puts out in movies, television, etc. Marital infidelity is lauded. Madonna & Lady Gaga are held up as role models instead of their actions being described as that of a putana (whore) or slut. I could go on, but you get the (pornographic sorry to say) picture.

Pope Paul also said "Another effect that gives cause for alarm is that a man who grows accustomed to the use of contraceptive methods may forget the reverence due to a woman, and, disregarding her physical and emotional equilibrium, reduce her to being a mere instrument for the satisfaction of his own desires, no longer considering her as his partner whom he should surround with care and affection." We have seen that time & time again. All women are is sex objects. I have to add that women have also done a good job of treating men that way as well. With the ease of obtaining an abortion, men have used pressure to make women get one so they don't have to take any responsibility for their actions.

The last warning he gave seems especially prescient of the situation we find ourselves currently in here in the USA. "Finally, careful consideration should be given to the danger of this power passing into the hands of those public authorities who care little for the precepts of the moral law. Who will blame a government which in its attempt to resolve the problems affecting an entire country resorts to the same measures as are regarded as lawful by married people in the solution of a particular family difficulty? Who will prevent public authorities from favoring those contraceptive methods which they consider more effective? Should they regard this as necessary, they may even impose their use on everyone. It could well happen, therefore, that when people, either individually or in family or social life, experience the inherent difficulties of the divine law and are determined to avoid them, they may give into the hands of public authorities the power to intervene in the most personal and intimate responsibility of husband and wife." (emphasis mine)

Doesn't this sound exactly what the Obama administration is trying to do in its implimentation of ObamaCare? Just look at the HHS mandate forcing Catholics & others who own a business to violate their consciences & pay for contracetion through the insurance coverage they have. & how about how Catholic institutions are facing the same threat? Time & time again we have seen what Obama thinks of the moral law with his promotion of artificial birth control, abortion, gay marriage, etc.

For 2000 years the Catholic Church has been a "sign of contradiction" (Luke 2:34) just like Jesus. Pope Paul said it was the "duty imposed on her of proclaiming humbly but firmly the entire moral law, both natural and evangelical.

Since the Church did not make either of these laws, she cannot be their arbiter—only their guardian and interpreter. It could never be right for her to declare lawful what is in fact unlawful, since that, by its very nature, is always opposed to the true good of man."

In the 44 years since the encyclical came out neither the moral law, or the Church's duty to humbly proclaim the truth of it has changed. & for good reason. Unlike what the 'culture of death" is doing, as Pope Paul said, "In preserving intact the whole moral law of marriage, the Church is convinced that she is contributing to the creation of a truly human civilization."  & when you compare what the Church has taught & upheld with what the "culture of death" has done when allowed to destroy moral law you will see how it has been the Catholic Church that has been the one to contribute "to the creation of a truly human civilization."

Note: On 24 July 2012, the Catholic World Report put up an article Contraception in the United States: A Short History, that looks at the early history of contraception & abortion advocacy in America, & especially its deepest objectives. It is well worth the read to understand how the movement sprang up in the USA as well as why most protestant churches have embraced artificial birth control.

* It should come as no surprize that in 1932 Margaret Sanger came out & condemned Casti connubi. In an article she wrote she said the encyclical was was an obstacle to general approval of the birth-control movement. She went on to say that it is “not in accord with science and definitely against social welfare and race improvement”  (race improvement is another term for eugenics). It is not surprizing she acted this way. What is also interesting is that many of the attacks she made on the Pope & the Catholic Church have since become standard talking points within the "culture of death" to try & undermine the Church's teachings on abortion, birth control & feminist issues as well.

If You Haven't Seen "For Greater Glory" Yet, Why Haven't You?

Wednesday night I was finally able to go see For Greater Glory, the movie about the 1920s Cristero War that I have been talking about in several posts. The movie was released on 1 June 2012 but only arrived in DBQ last Friday (15 June) for a one week engagement.  While there wasn't a large crowd for the 7 pm showing, I would say that I knew at least 75% of the audience.

Where do I begin??? Seriously, this is definitely a must see movie. When it was over & the credits began there was almost complete silence. When I went home I had to dig out something light to watch because of how it effected me. This morning when I was talking to a friend who had been there, he asked me if I had trouble getting to sleep afterwords. Others have had similar reactions.

In short, this is a powerful movie that tells the story of those who refused to let Mexican President Plutarco Elías Calles get away with his attempt to destroy the Catholic Church in Mexico. While the movie doesn't mention it, part of his motivation came from being a freemason.

I will try not to give away too much of the story. The movie starts out with Calles calling on the Mexican Congress to enact  legislation known formally as The Law Reforming the Penal Code (unofficially as the Calles Law). The law was simply supposed to enforce the 1917 Constitution's seperation of church & state. But what it really was inteded to do, & did, was open the doors to an all out persecution of the Catholic Church in order to destroy it. Calles was played by Ruben Blades who gave an excellent performance. His portrayal of Calles gave me the impression that Calles was one of those villians who often appears in a Bond movie, someone who puts up a front to the public (in this case the US government & others) but is really wholey motivated by an evil agenda.

We soon meet Fr. Christopher, a Catholic priest played by Peter O'Toole, who befriends 13 year old  José Luis Sanchez del Rio (Mauricio Kuri). Fr. Christopher's witness of the love of Christ to José begins to have an effect on the boy to strenghten his faith. As the attacks escalate Fr. Christopher in mudered by the Federales with José  as a witness. O'Toole played that scene with just the right blend of fear & faith. You could see that Fr. Christopher was not relying on his own strength, but was keeping his eyes on Jesus & praying for the grace he needed to face his martydom. Later, after witnessing the Federales kill 2 other people, José  & a friend take off & join the Cristeros. They are not allowed to fight. Instead they help out arround the camp.

At the same time we see the efforts of Anacleto González Flores (Eduardo Verástegui) & others to find a peaceful solution to the attacks on the Catholic Church. Unfortunately Calles rejects all those efforts. Soon groups are organizing across Mexico to take up armed resistance against Calles. 1 of those groups is lead by Fr. Vega (Santiago Cabrer) The National League for the Defense of Religious Liberty, a group that was originally founded for peaceful protest, realized that they need an experienced General to lead them. Enrique Gorostieta Velarde (Andy Garcia in 1 of his best roles ever) is contacted. His wife, Tulita Gorostieta (Eva Longoria) is a faithful Catholic), but Gorostieta is an atheist. But he is also a firm believer in religious liberty & with the support of his wife, agrees to lead the Cristeros.

Obviously a 145 minute movie cannot cover everything that happenned over the 3 years of the Cristero war. Much of the film focuses on the training, the battles & the struggles of the Cristeros. But some of it does focus on what went on in the US & the American Ambassador's efforts. Additionally, the movie doesn't paint the Cristeros leaders as perfect. It does show some of the mistakes they made, the pride of some leaders as well as their deep faith. Several times we witness a part of a Mass for the Cristeros.
Other things get mentioned in passing. 1 of those is the involvement of the Knights of Columbus. The movie only mentions the KCs contacting the US government. But they did much more. The KCs were already active in Mexico. Like many other Catholic organizations, they came under attack by the Calles government. Several KCs who were martyred in the Cristero War have been either beatified or declared saints by the Catholic Church. You can read more about what they did in 2 articles in the May 2012 issue of Columbia: The Untold Story of the Knights during the Cristiada & The Voice for Religious Freedom Knows No Border.
While there wasn't an excess of blood or gore, the movie did accurately portray the violence. That included the hangings. 1 of the things shown was how Calles had the bodies hung on telephone poles, including those alongside the railroad tracks. The reason for this was the same as that used by the Roman empire for why they crucified criminals & rebels along public ways. It was to send a message that if you don't stop rebelling the same fate awaited you.
The portrayal of the hangings reminded me of something else. I am refering to the hangings by the Ku Klux Klan in the USA. Again the hangings were a means of terrorizing those the KKK opposed. That included Catholics. The KKK was rabidly anti-Catholic & would do anything to help wipe them out. That meant they fully supported what Calles was doing. In fact, the Klan offered its 4 million members as soldiers for the Calles regime should any group or country intervene militarily.
While not mentioned in the movie, another big supporter of Calles efforts to wipe out the Catholic Church in Mexico was Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. She praised Calles’ campaign against the Church & saw it as a step toward making her work easier: “With the yoke of medievalism thus thrown off we can anticipate a splendid development of the government work for birth control already begun in Mexico.” Of course her other reason for wanting promoting birth control in Mexico had to do with her racist eugenics agenda. Remember she saw Mexicans as an inferior people. This agenda is still carried on by Planned Parenthood today. & not only in Mexico but in all of Central & South America.
1 of the things shown in the movie were attempts by the Federales to get Catholics to aposticise. Saying, “¡Viva Cristo Rey!” (Long Live Christ the King!), the battle cry of the Cristeros, was considered to be an act of treason. The scenes where the Federales tried to get Catholics to deny Christ or be shot again reminded me of how the early Christians were given the choice of worshiping Caesar or being martyred. To not worship Caesar was treason. The movie shows many Catholics  facing death with  “¡Viva Cristo Rey!”  on their lips.
I know that many people like to walk out the second the credits start at the end of the movie. In this case, I would say don't. The credits start with telling what happenned to some of those portrayed in the movie. Throughout the credits we see actually pictures of the events during the war. 1 of those pictures is of Blessed Miguel Pro (José Ramón Miguel Agustín Pro Juárez) being martyred.
The movie was rightly rated R because of the violence depicted. I won't make the arguement here that, given the violence & sex in some PG-13 movies, that it could have been rated that instead. Clearly, this movie is not suitable for very young children. But given the exposure to so much violence in video games, most teens (& some 10-12 year lods) would be able to handle it. In fact, I would strongly recomend that parents of teens take them. & then use the movie as a starting point for a discussion on what it means to live the Catholic faith, especially the cost. Why were the martyrs, from the early days of the Catholic Church until now, willing to lay down their lives for what they believed in. Another topic would be how does this compare to the attacks on the Catholic Church & religious faith in general by the Obama administration. How is this persecution similar or different? Could we be seeing Catholics arrested & martyred in the US for refusing to submit to the attacks on the Catholic Church (& other Christians as well)?
I hope we never face the type of persecution the Calles government wrought on the Catholic Church. (Note: even after the agreement, persecution continued. Calles' government often did not abide by the terms of the truce. In violation of its terms, executed some 500 Cristero leaders & 5,000 other Cristeros.) This movie has inspired me to continue my efforts to see that it doesn't. We must have the same courage that the early Christians as well as the Cristeros had. We must ask God to give us the strength & graces needed to live our faith & defend it, even if it may some day cost us our lives.

Autistic Children, How Soon Until the "Culture of Death" Targets Them?

A couple of days ago I was reading an article in the Knights of Columbus Magazine Columbia. The article,   Treating Disorders, Transforming Lives was about the work being done at  the Knights of Columbus Developmental Center at the SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis with autistic children. You might remember that Cardinal Glennon was where Baby Joseph was taken for life extending surgery after the Ontario courts had overruled the parents wishes & were going to allow the doctors to take him off of life support instead. The surgery allowed him 6 more months of life than he would have had. & it allowed him to die with the true dignity he deserved.

The article hilighted the wonderful work that the Center is doing helping  children with intellectual developmental  In particular it looked at the work done to diagnose & treat children with autism.  The professionals at the Center can make an autism diagnosis as early as 18 months of age. In 2007, the Center was designated a Missouri Autism Center. It has helped the state develop screening & treatment guidelines for this spectrum of disorders. The Center is now evaluating & treating almost 2,000 children a year.

The article also talked about an expansion in the works. "The new facility will provide more space for Higgins to interact with the children, and his crate will no longer be jammed in a corner of the conference room. The new examining rooms, meanwhile, will be big enough to accommodate more family members and specialists. Maxim is also glad to have room for new, evidence-based programs like PEERS, which teaches social skills to teenagers while their parents get coached on the material in another room." (FYI: Higgins is a specially trained  goldendoodle that helps ease the childrens fears & make them feel more comfortable as they go through the tests & exams.)

& while all that is going on there is good news, something in the article caught my eye that raised a red flag about the future safety of these children, especially before they are born. "'Autism is definitely a genetic disorder,' Maxim says. (Dr. Rolanda Maxim, the center’s medical director) 'Every day we are identifying more genes that are linked to autism.' Those genes only create a predisposition to the disorder, though. 'There are certain triggers in the environment,” Maxim explains, “and we have only identified a few of them.'” (emphasis mine)

My thoughts ran back to how our society is dealing with another genetic condition, Down syndrome. As I have pointed out many times before, with current pre-natal testing & diagnosis, about 90% of those pre-born children who have been diagnosed to have Down syndrome are being aborted. Down syndrome occurs in one out of every 733 babies born in the U.S. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention has estimated that, on average, 1 in every 110 children has an autism spectrum disorder. But, in some studies, the prevalence has measured as high as 1 in 80. Add to that the fact that in 2009 a test was being developed for pre-natal screening of autism was being developed & just this year another prenatal test that allows doctors to diagnose some 3,500 genetic defects previously undetectable before birth has been developed.

I think by now you see where I am heading.  If these tests become standard, how long before children with the genetic predisposition to autism will be aborted as regularly as those with Down syndrome? Or children with other genetic problems as well?

Add to that, the recent article published in the Journal of Medical Ethics (JME) calling for the normalization of infanticide for any reason.   After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?, was written by  Alberto Giubilini (Department of Philosophy, University of Milan, Milan, Italy; and Centre for Human Bioethics, Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia), & Frencesca Minerva (Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics, University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia).

In their abstract, the authors state:

“Abortion is largely accepted even for reasons that do not have anything to do with the fetus’ health. By showing that (1) both fetuses and newborns do not have the same moral status as actual persons, (2) the fact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant and (3) adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people, the authors argue that what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled.”

(emphasis mine)

Add to that:

“Therefore, we claim that killing a newborn could be ethically permissible in all the circumstances where abortion would be. Such circumstances include cases where the newborn has the potential to have an (at least) acceptable life, but the well-being of the family is at risk. Accordingly, a second terminological specification is that we call such a practice ‘after-birth abortion’ rather than ‘euthanasia’ because the best interest of the one who dies is not necessarily the primary criterion for the choice, contrary to what happens in the case of euthanasia.”

(emphasis mine)

Yes you read that right, "after-birth abortion".

As Dr. Gerard M. Nadal put it "In that last breathtaking sentence, the authors leave behind Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the “Death with Dignity’ movement, euthanasia, and even the vile excesses of the Dutch physician assisted suicide experience, propelling us into the scenario where those who may be perfectly healthy apart from even the mildest limitations imposed by a genetic condition may be murdered by their parents." He also said the article was "worthy of the rabid Nazi propagandist Julius Streicher’s screeds in his publication, Der Sturmer." As you may remember, Streicher and the other Nazi leaders who went to the gallows with him deemed Jews, homosexuals, the mentally retarded, & those with autism (among others) as, “Life unworthy of life.” (emphasis mine)

Add to this the work being done by Princeton University Professor Peter Singer to promote a simlar agenda, & Dr. Catherine Constable's saying  all patients evaluated as being in a “permanent vegetative state” (PVS) should by default have artificial nutrition and hydration (ANH) withdrawn unless they have made a prior wish to be kept alive among others & you see the "culture of death" in full swing to dehumanize anyone who doesn't fit into a group's definition of what it means to be human. In short, we will see a full scale eugenics effort to clean up all those who are unfit to be considered human & thus having a right to live.

Where does it end? Well we already have a prime example of that in Hitler & his slaughter of the Jews as unfit to live & less than human. Other groups he slaughtered included Catholics, Christians, Gypsies & homosexuals as unfit to live as well.

& we have seen how Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood held similar ideas. & Planned Parenthood is still working to promote them as well (Maafa 21).

I have to add to the mix one more thing, ObamaCare. If it is upheld, it will add soon add abortions to the mix. It already has death panels as a part of it. You can be sure that those panels will limit, if not ban most or all of what is being done to help children with autism as to expensive for the results. That will encourage even more women to abort their potentially autistic children,

That is why I asked the question "How soon?" rather than will the "culture of death target children with autism. If we allow our culture to continue on this path, you can be sure that what I have said in this post will happen.

Before I conclude, I would suggest you read the entire Columbia article. You will see a prime example of what happens when the Culture of Life is allowed to flourish.

In conclusion, I remind everyone that we must continue to pray & work at building a Culture of Life in the USA & elsewhere. As I have said before, we must begin, end & undergird all our efforts with prayer. We must ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, San Giuseppe & other saints like Blessed Margaret of Castello & St. Gerard Majella to intercede as well. This is, in the end, a spiritual battle. & it is spiritual weapons that will win it.



The Next Time You Hear Planned Parenthood Or the Guttmacher Institute Quote Kinsey, Remember This

Recently Crisis Magazine put up an article on Alfred C. Kinsey & the disasterous effects that his work have had on society over the past 50+ years (Kinsey’s Secret: The Phony Science of the Sexual Revolution)

Since the '40s, the to go to guy for information on all things dealing with human sexuality has been Alfred C. Kinsey. In fact he is often considered the father of the sexual revolution that occured in the 1960s & which we are still seeing the fruit of these days. Even though there has been more research done after his Kinsey Reports came out, most of it has been influenced to a greater or lesser degree. A huge part of that is due to the existance of the Kinsey Institute that was founded to carry on his work.

In 2004 a movie glorifying him was made starring Liam Neeson. In 2005, with the help of his Institute PBS did an Episode of American Experience about him.

Groups like Planned Parenthood & their PR arm, the Guttmacher Institute will use him as an infallible source supporting their claims justifying the need for their agenda to be implimented, especially in schools.

There is 1 huge problem that has been known for years, but has been mostly ignored by those who want to advance their agenda of anything goes when it comes to sex morality, that most of his work was based on lies & the science often flawed. (Note the PBS show did mention some of those concerns, but downplayed them & made those opposing them to be in the wrong & Kinsey the hero.)

Additionally, we have seen the fruit of his work over the past half century & despite what his fans & advocates claim, it has been anything but good. I won't go into all the details as the article does an excellent job, but I will share a few things in order to whet your appetite to read the article.

Over the years, Kinsey's “facts” have been used by those in the "culture of death" to repeal or weaken laws against abortion, pornography, obscenity, divorce, adultery, & sodomy.  1 of those doing so  was big Kinsey supporter Morris L. Ernst, a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union. He  argued for softening the nation's sex crime penalties was attorney. Ernst also represented Margaret Sanger -- the founder of Planned Parenthood -- the Kinsey Institute, the Sex Information and Education Council of the United States & Planned Parenthood of America. That there is this common link should be no surprize. As I said, Kinsey darling with those connected to the "culture of death".
The  50 years of precedents set by Kinsey’s “false 10 percent” are the basis for efforts in states like Massachusetts to redefine marriage. We can thank Kinsey for Playboy, Penthouse & Hustler that did more to harm women by turniing them into pure sex objects. More damage was done by what Helen Gurley Brown did when turned Cosmopolitan into a sex magazine for women.  Dr. Ruth Westheimer acknowledges him as the reason she was able to do what she did, never mind the misinformation. She reportedly Reader's Digest, “I don’t care much about what is correct and is not correct. Without him, I wouldn’t be Dr. Ruth.”

In addition to the article, I recommend you read Architects of the Culture of Death published by Ignatius Press.  It devotes a chapter to him, as well as 1 on Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. & many others as well.

So, is it any wonder we are seeing the HHS Mandidate in ObamaCare as well as all the other efforts, such as Planned Parenthood pushing their version of sex ed in schools, that we do today?  It is time to shine the light of truth on Kinsey, his accolates, & all those who use his studies. In doing so we will be better able to battle those lies using his work as their foundation.

Arizona, Take Off Your Rainbow Shades* - & See How the Abortion Industry Is Once Again Breaking the Law

All those suprized that another abortion clinic has been uncovered as willing to break the law, raise your hands. For those of you that have raised them - Well, either you're closing your eyes to a situation you do now wish to acknowledge. Or you are not aware of the caliber of disaster indicated by the presence of an abortion clinic ( you can sub "Planned Parenthood clinic" as well) in your community.#

The latest footage was released today by Live Action, this time taken at not just one, but 2 National Abortion Federation (NAF)-affiliated clinics. According to Live Action "The footage shows two NAF members, Camelback Family Planning in Phoenix and the Tucson Women’s Center in Tucson, promising to ignore the law and perform a sex-selective abortion and coaching a woman to lie on official paperwork to conceal the illegal abortion."

FYI, sex-selective abortion is a class 3 felony in Arizona. Under Arizona law, no one may knowingly perform a sex-selective abortion in the state, or solicit or accept money to do so.  Live Action has sent the full footage from the Arizona clinics to the state Attorney General, Tom Horne, as well as sending it to local law enforcement.

In a statement, Live Action president Lila Rose urges Arizona authorities to enforce the state’s sex-selection ban: “Sex-selective abortion is a global search-and-destroy mission against little girls that is spreading at an alarming rate. While we wait for Congress to pass the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act to ban sex-selective abortion in the U.S., state authorities should vigorously enforce Arizona’s law. The clinics supporting sex-selective abortion should be investigated, prosecuted, defunded, and delicensed immediately.”

As you will see in the video below at the Camelback clinic when the woman purportedly seeking to abort her girl & try again for a boy explains this, a counselor named Barb advises, “Don’t tell us that, because we don’t want to know.” Referring to the clinic’s abortion doctor, Gabrielle Goodrick, Barb says, “You can tell her, she’s gonna tell you the same thing, just: Don’t let it be down! She’s really good about that. You’ll like that about her.”
& at the Tucson clinic, the surgical assistant Francisco tells the woman, “We could lose our license,” but then he agrees to cover-up her sex-selective abortion. “I’ll just forget about it,” he says, “But just be sure not to mention it” to the abortion doctor–“Don’t even mention it to him.”

For those unfamiliar with the NAF, they are the professional trade group for abortion doctors & clinics in the U.S. & Canada. Even though they are officially seperate groups, many NAF board members are current or former Planned Parenthood officials. Additionally, Planned Parenthood representatives frequently play a prominent role at NAF annual meetings.
Speaking of Planned Parenthood, on Monday Planned Parenthood’s Director of Global Advocacy Chloe Cooney responded to an op-ed by U.S. Rep. Chris Smith criticizing the abortion chain’s policy on sex-selective abortion. Smith, who is Pro-life, pointed to a Planned Parenthood official’s statement to the Huffington Post that the group provides “nonjudgmental care to all who come into” their clinics, as well as the Huffington Post writer’s explanation that, “That means that no Planned Parenthood clinic will deny a woman an abortion based on her reasons for wanting one.”
Smith went on to say “In other words, Planned Parenthood is okay with exterminating a child in its huge network of clinics simply because she’s a girl.”
Naturally Cooney began with the standard Planned Parenthood line when caught & called Live Action's efforts that Smith refered to as "a coordinated hoax patient campaign that used highly unusual patient scenarios in an effort to discredit Planned Parenthood’s services, mission and values." If they are so highly unusual, then why has the response been the same everywhere, to agree that they are OK with doing them?
Then she brings out another well worn Planned Parenthood cannard when they oppose even any basic regulation on the abortion industry. In this case it was in reference to the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act. She said it "would have imposed harmful restrictions on women’s health care and would have interfered with the doctor-patient relationship." The puzzling part of this claim is that the same abortion industry gang says that abortion is simply another medical proceedure. But when the law tries to treat it as one by subjecting it to the same basic regulations that these other proceedures are subject too, then they scream that it interfers with the doctor-patient relationship & that they are harmful restrictions. How, if what they claim about abortion is true?  The fact is, the abortion industry doesn't want any laws that will force them to provide even the minimal protection for a woman provided by the other laws for other proceedures. Anything they may have to do, like informed concent regulations, or even insuring that the place meets minimal cleanliness standards, will cost money & cut into their profits.
 Cooney goes on to say "Planned Parenthood opposes sex-selection abortion. Planned Parenthood organizations have extensive guidelines and training requirements for all staff. If any Planned Parenthood organization learns of an instance where a staff member has not fully followed policies or procedures, it will take swift action and remedy the situation." You will notice that she does NOT mention any specific guidelines or provide evidence of them. & we all know that the only remedy applied to violations of these alledged proceedures is to fire the person caught in the act of doing what Planned Parenthood wants kept secret. That is the real guideline that Planned Parenthood wants followed.
IMHO, the biggest lie by Cooney is buried in the next part she wrote: "Racism and gender discrimination are serious issues in our country — and they require solutions that address the underlying issues that promote bias. The Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act would have cast suspicion on doctors who serve communities facing the greatest health disparities, many of which are minority communities." She is trying to make it sound like Planned Parenthood cares about minorities & especially their health care. The totally different reality, that they only care about implimenting Sanger's racist eugenics agenda & making money doing so has been well documented (see Maafa 21).
Her concluding statement is pretty much an admission that Planned Parenthood has no trouble with doing an abortion for any reason whatsoever. She said "Whatever one thinks about abortion, it is a deeply personal and complex decision that is best left to a woman, her family and her doctor." The logical conclusion is, & if that woman wants it for sex selection, because the child is a Down syndrome child, or has some other genetic problem we at Planned Parenthood are fine with killing it. In short, the claim they oppose sex-selection abortions is a lie, plain & simple.
Yesterday's recall election in Wisconsin was another setback for Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood as well as NARAL Pro-Choice America had endorsed his opponant, Tom Barrett. Since his election, Walker signed into law a state budget that included a provision to prohibit the UW Hospital Authority from being involved in performing abortions & from using taxpayer dollars to pay medical students to learn how to perform abortions. Walker steered Wisconsin Well Woman funds to local counties instead of Planned Parenthood.He also signed bills that allow Wisconsin to opt out of abortion funding under Obamacare, to protect pregnant women from coerced abortions & to prohibit RU486 chemical web cam abortions.
The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund endorsed Pro-life Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch also won against her Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin supported opponent, Mahlon Mitchell. 
Another loser was EMILY's List, a PAC that supports pro-abortion Democratic women in their run for office. In the primary Barrett defeated EMILY's List backed pro-abortion Democrat Kathleen Falk in a landslide. It could be another sign their influence is waning. & why SBA List is under attack in Ohio for their successes.
The abortion industry knows it is under seige. & that as more & more of the truth comes out, they aill continue to lose support. The Walker election yesterday sent a strong message that even in what is a fairly secure Democratic stronghold, that people are waking up & no longer closing their eyes to what Planned Parenthood & the abortion industry are doing & how big a disaster they really are. Planned Parenthood PACs & the other Pro-abort PACs will be throwing in a huge amount of money like they did in Wisconsin during the upcoming presidential election because they know that if Obama loses, then they lose the one person who has done more to promote their agenda than anyone else over the past 4 years, the goose that has laid the golden egg for them with ObamaCare. & you can be sure they will bring out every lie, half truth, & dirty trick they can. But, as we saw in Wisconsin, those tactics are no longer the guarenteed success they were in the past. The rainbow shades are coming off, not only in Arizona & Wisconsin, but across the USA.
However, those of us in the Pro-life camp must not assume we can just sit back. No, just like in Wisconsin, we MUST be out there getting the truth out. Again I remind you we must start, end & undergird it all with prayer. & part of that prayer is to ask God to open the eyes of those who support Pro-abortion candidates to the truth of what they are supporting.We must ensure that we are as accurate as possible in our claims. The facts are out there, waiting for us to use them to tell the truth.  Finally, we must speak the truth, in love & under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Just as Jesus did. Those who support abortion are just as much made in the image & likeness of God as we are. If we follow these simple steps, we may not always be successful, but we know that we have been faithful to what God wants. & that is what is most important of all.

Planned Parenthood, Following In Margaret Sanger's Anti-Catholic Footsteps

One of the little mentioned reasons why Planned Parenthood, through it's wholy owned subsidiary, the Obama Administration, is so gung ho in attacking religious freedom, especially that of the Catholic Church, lies in what its founder, Margaret Sanger, felt about Catholicism.

She once said the following about Jesus: "I never liked to look at Jesus on the Cross. I could not see any good it did to keep looking at him. We could not help him, as he had been crucified long ago." So we have her rejecting Jesus & His salvific death on the Cross.



As for the Catholic Church's teaching on contraception, she said that all the Church was doing was to "...enforce SUBJUGATION by TURNING WOMAN INTO A MERE INCUBATOR."

As for Catholic efforts in her time to keep contraception banned, her comments on the Catholic Church's actions, or should I say Catholic bashing  of  the Catholic Church?, sound a lot like the Catholic bashing today because the Church opposes the HHS mandate. 

Sanger wrote a letter to her "Friends, Co-workers, and Endorsers" that portrayed the opposing testimony as the work of Catholics determined ... not to present facts to the committee but to intimidate them by showing a Catholic block of voters who (though in the minority in the United States) want to dictate to the majority of non-Catholics as directed from the Vatican in social and moral legislation ... American men and women, are we going to allow this insulting arrogance to bluff the American people?" The old, trying to force your morality on others chestnut has sure been arround for a long time, hasn't it? The accusation that the Catholic Church is trying to keep women from getting contraception by opposing the HHS mandate is simply a new twist on this.

Her Birth Control Review printed an article that noted: "Today by the Roman Catholic clergy and their allies . . . Public opinion in America, I fear, is too willing to condone in the officials of the Roman Catholic Church what it condemns in the Ku Klux Klan." & this is just one example of her use of character assassination, personal vilification & old-fashioned bigotry to attack the Catholic Church.

A favorite of Sanger, Norman E. Himes, often contributed articles to Sanger's journal. Himes claimed there were genetic differences between Catholics and non-Catholics. "Are Catholic stocks . . . genetically inferior to such non-Catholic libertarian stocks and Unitarians and Universal . . . Freethinkers? Inferior to non-Catholics in general? . . . my guess is that the answer will someday be made in the affirmative. . . and if the supposed differentials in net productivity are also genuine, the situation is anti-social, perhaps gravely so."

As The Rev. John A. Ryan pointed out, Sanger's attack on Catholics appeared to be an attempt to divert attention from the class politics of Planned Parenthood: "... their main objective is to increase the practice of birth-prevention among the poor . . . It is said that the present birth-prevention movement is to some extent financed by wealthy, albeit philanthropic persons. As far as I am aware , none of these is conspicuous in the movement for economic justice. None of them is crying out for a scale of wages which would enable workers to take care of a normal number of children." Again, isn't just what is going on today? Planned Parenthood is claiming it cares about the poor & minorities, while doing nothing but trying to eliminate them like Sanger wanted.

Margaret Sanger also spoke about forced sterilization of those she saw as unfit to get rid of them. Among those groups she included practicing Catholics.

So it should be no surprize that we are seeing the current attack on the Catholic Church through the Obama Administration. They are only doing what she founded them to do. & why we need to stand firm in our faith, with prayer & action, against this latest assault.

But not that they got caught in the act.

The 2nd video from Live Action investigating how Planned Parenthood aides & abets in sex selection abortions has been released. This video was taken at the the flagship abortion clinic of Planned Parenthood in New York. The clinic on Bleecker St.is named in honor of Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger.

This time the video shows Planned Parenthood social worker Randi Coun advising the woman on an early, definitive method to tell the gender of her child in the late first or early second trimester. This test is the Chorionic Villus Sampling test (CVC test). It is done between 11 and 13 weeks. As Jill Stanek, who is a nurse, points out, the CVS suggestion is an extreme one that puts the baby at risk. “CVS tests have a risk of miscarriage of about 1 in 100, which Coun did not mention, and are typically done to test for genetic disorders.” Coun's failure to warn of the dangers should be no surprize given that it is SOP at Planned Parenthood to ignore, deny or underplay the dangers of anything that they do to promote their agenda, especially if the truth would undercut their profits.

Additionally Coun makes it sound like an abortion is safer than trimming your nails. “Yeah, so, you know, with—an abortion at any stage up to 24 weeks is considered a safe procedure. Um, the biggest difference is that after 16 weeks, the procedure becomes a 2-day procedure, rather than a procedure that’s done just on one day. It’s just there’s more steps involved and it’s just a little more complicated.” Notice, nothing about the possible complications that have all too often shown up resulting in women having to go to the ER that I have shared in other posts. But what else in new about Planned Parenthood? Don't forget that they have opposed even common sense laws that require the same informed consent that all other surguries & medical proceedures require.

Additionally, it should come as no suprize that the Main Stream Media has been ignoring this whole story. & that includes the whole debate & vote in the House on a ban of sex selection abortions as well. It is to be expected since it might have drawn attention to 2 facts the MSM doesn't want out, that a vote came up banning a proceedure that most people oppose for the horrific anti-woman thing it is, & that for all the claims to the contrary, it is the Obama administration & the abortion industry who are truly antiwomen.

Once again we are seeing the ugly truth about Planned Parenthood, the abortion industry & the whole "culture of death". All they care about is spreading death & making a profit at it. For them, no evil is too great that they will oppose it.

The best way to fight the darkness is with the light of truth. Again, we must keep praying. Then we must do what we can to get the truth out there, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We will meet opposition, Jesus did, remember. But that will not stop us. The truth will come out. As Jesus said, all that is hidden, that will not be uncovered & brought to light. (Matthew 10:28, Mark 4:22, & Luke 12:2 among others.) & that especially includes the evils promoted by Planned Parenthood.

Another Ugly Truth Comes Out About Planned Parenthood - They Push Sex Selection Abortions

On 26 April 2012 I reported that it looked like a new Live Action investigation was in the works & this time it would look at how Planned Parenthood approves of & abets in sex-selection abortions. At that time I pointed out how the lies & spin by the Pro-aborts had begun in a preemtive strike to try & reduce the damage. I also pointed out how there was already evidence Planned Parenthood was on board with the idea of sex selection abortions & opposed any legistation banning them.

This morning Live Action went public with  a new undercover vide. This one showed a "Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Austin, TX encouraging a woman to obtain a late-term abortion because she was purportedly carrying a girl and wanted to have a boy." According to Live Action "The video is first in a new series titled “Gendercide: Sex-Selection in America,” exposing the practice of sex-selective abortion in the United States and how Planned Parenthood and the rest of the abortion industry facilitate the selective elimination of baby girls in the womb."

So what was Planned Parenthood's response to the truth getting out? It fires the woman in the video & all but admits it does sex selection abortions. In a statement issued by Planned Parenthood they claim the whole thing is another hoax by Live Action & that they have only released "edited videotapes to promote false claims about our organization and patient services. In highly unusual and scripted scenarios, hoax patients sought services related to sex selection." The big problem with this claim is that Live Action has released the complete, unedited video as well as a transcript that can be viewed at www.ProtectOurGirls.com. They are a hub of research & information on sex-selective abortions.

Additionally PP claims that it fired the woman in the video. Just like in the past, they fired the worker & supposedly scheduled retraining for the rest of the staff. (IMHO the retraining is how to avoid being caught.) A Planned Parenthood spokeswoman told The Huffington Post on Tuesday the entry level staffer in the video “did not follow our protocol” for dealing with “a highly unusual patient scenario.” This raises an interesting question, what is the proper protocol for providing a sex selection abortion? Apparently there is one if she violated it. & the fact that more videos are to come from Live Action shows that this isn't an "highly unusual patient scenario" like Planned Parenthood claims.

The PP statement goes on to show it's willingness to lie & present themselves as something totally different then they really are. The statement is another of their smoke & mirror attempts to make it look like women, not profits from abortion, are what motivates Planned Parenthood. They statement takes 2 paragraphs to attack gender bias & racism (another lie since it has been proven time & time again that PP supports sangar's racist, eugenics agenda).

Part of the statement says "The world’s leading women’s health and rights organizations, including the World Health Organization, do not believe that curtailing access to abortion services is a legitimate means of addressing sex selection, and have made clear that gender bias can only be resolved by addressing the underlying conditions that lead to it." & that PP supports this.  Given that WHO supports abortion like PP, that it would decry sex selection while allowing it to go on under the guise of it limiting access to abortion services shows that it really doesn't disapprove of them. After all, how does banning sex selection abortions limit access to those who they claim need them for legitimate reasons? Only if sex selection is a legitimate reasion in their minds would they oppose access.

Meanwhile The House of Representatives is scheduled to debate the "Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act.", H.R. 3541, on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at about 2:30 PM EDT, and to vote on the bill at about 7:00 PM EDT. National Right to Life is urging people to call their representative in the House in support of the Bill.

Kicking Planned Parenthood's PR Arm Right in the "Gutt"macher

For good or bad, until recently, the main source of information (studies, policy, polls, & statistics) about the abortion industry that was out there was that provided by the Guttmacher Institute. It was founded in 1968 as the "Center for Family Planning Program Development", a semi-autonomous division of The Planned Parenthood Federation of America. It was founded by then PP President,  Alan F. Guttmacher* & later named after him. In 1977 it became a seperate (on paper) non-profit corporation. However, even though it tries to claim it is independant, it really works hand & hand with PP to promote their "culture of death" agenda. & as recently as 2009 there is evidence that PP was still subsidizing  the Guttmacher Institute.

It is the source that the Main Stream Media (MSM) goes to for what it claims is an unbiased source (NYT: “nonpartisan research organization on issues of sexual health”). Given that the MSM knows full well that "sexual health" or "reproductive health" are code words for promoting abortion. Interestingly enough, Wikipedia, which is known for its pro-abort bias is a bit more honest. In it's entry for the Guttmacher Institute, it says the Institute "works to advance reproductive health including abortion rights." Hardly unbiased or nonpartisan.

& while the Guttmacher has often provided information that has been used by the Pro-life side to prove their claims (abortion numbers for instance), most of what Guttmacher puts out is clearly aimed at advancing PP's agenda. Or at best, put a positive spin on it. I have often described Guttmacher as PP's PR arm. When PP needs something to counter the truth they can rely on Guttmacher to provide it. Like I said, the gang at the Guttmacher Institute don't aim to provide unbiased facts, but to provide PR spin for Planned Parenthood.

But there is some good news thanks to The Susan B. Anthony List Today they unveiled their new website for the Charlotte Lozier Institute, its education and research arm, which was formed in late 2011. The institute is named for Charlotte Denman Lozier (1844-1870), a pro-life feminist physician who was a contemporary of Susan B. Anthony’s. According to the SBA List press release: "The web site will be a hub for research and public policy analysis on some of the most pressing issues facing the United States and nations around the world.

The site features commentaries, reviews and blog posts by an array of policy experts and scholars whose work covers statistics, medicine, bioethics, health care and law.

“We envision lozierinstitute.org as a crossroads for both new information and fresh analysis of policy questions that vex the modern world, centered on the value of human life and care for mothers, the children they carry, and the family,” commented Charlotte Lozier Institute president Chuck Donovan. “We will address topics from abortion, to population policy, advances in fetal medicine, health policy, and even end-of-life care. We will supplement and encourage existing organizations, as well as provide a balance to existing research organizations embedded in the abortion industry, by focusing on mid- and long-term topics where reflection and deeper examination can make lasting contributions.”

The web site includes articles on such topics as eugenics restitution legislation in North Carolina, the sudden and unexplained surge in abortion in the District of Columbia, the status of Chinese human rights activist Cheng Guangcheng, and the adoption of “whole women” legislation in a number of states to prioritize family planning funding to agencies offering primary care. Topics coming soon to the site include the quality of U.S. abortion reporting laws and the growth of perinatal hospice as a form of compassionate care for parents facing the birth of children with lethal anomalies.

Staff members of the Institute represent some of the most experienced writers and editors in the area of life issue studies. Chuck Donovan is a four-decade veteran in Washington policy circles and has written and spoken widely on public policy issues during work at the National Right to Life Committee, in the Reagan White House, at Family Research Council and, most recently, the Heritage Foundation. Gene Tarne, who edits lozierinstitute.org, is the founder and president of Tarne Communications. He has 30 years of experience in public affairs, journalism, media relations, and issue advocacy, representing a variety of non-profit, international, and public policy clients."

I highly doubt that the MSM (except maybe FoxNews) will present Lozier Institute as unbiased. In fact they will probably demonize the Lozier Institute all the while presenting the Guttmacher Institute as on the side of the angels. In short, the standard operating proceedure followed by the MSM when it wants to avoid the truth rather than admit the facts about abortion & the abortion industry.

But the Pro-life side now has an additional tool (joining such groups as Family Research Council, Population Research Institute & Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute, among others) to get the facts out & to counteract the "culture of death" bias that is the heart & soul of the Guttmacher Institute's raison d'être.

* Another interesting fact about Alan Guttmacher that is omitted from Guttmacher Institute’s bio of Guttmacher, but again, amazingly included on the Wikipedia bio of Guttmacher  is the fact that he was also vice president of the American Eugenics Society in the 1950s. Just like Sanger he was big on eugenics & racial purity. Given how PP has been proven to be continuing its promoting of Sanger's racist eugenics policy (see Maafa 21 among others), you can be sure the Guttmacher Institute is doing so as well.
