Not sure who to blame NAF or the Main Stream Media

In Friday's DBQ TH 2 articles were buried inside to paper about the Gosnell abortion mill of horrors. (To be fair, so was the story about the huge Mafia bust, but a story about the uproar that astrology is off by 1 sign made the front page as the headline on Wednesday. Go figure?) The 1st story was about how the regulators failed to do their job (Regulators failed in abortion-mill case, report says).
The 2nd one was about the debate on oversight of the abortion industry as well as late term abortions (Case renews debate on late-term, oversight). Part of the story particularly stood out for me:
The author wrote:"Almost in unison, abortion-rights and pro-life activists decried the alleged offenses of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, who was arraigned Thursday on eight counts of murder in the deaths of seven babies and one patient." What the????????? As I already pointed out, I couldn't find a thing from Planned Parenthood, NARAL or NAF about it.
Apparently the author of the piece did contact NAF since he had the following somewhat disingenuous bit: "This provider clearly operates outside acceptable quality-care standards and is a total outlier," said National Abortion Federation president Vicki Saporta.
The problem with the Gosnell case, Saporta said, is that state and local authorities apparently didn't enforce regulations that were on the books. She noted that Gosnell had been rejected for membership in her federation, which represents about 400 providers accounting for about half the nation's 1.2 million annual abortions.
The federation has a self-policing policy, conducting periodic site visits to ensure that members comply with its guidelines
."
What she failed to mention is they knew exactly what was going on & maintatined silence about it. But to do so would be to admit they didn't care what sort of horrors were going on as long as Gosnell wasn't associated with them. The other thing she fails to mention is that NAF et al oppose any sorts of regulations & they exist more as a cover organization than anything else.
Or maybe she did & given the pro-abort slant of the media, it got editted out.
But what I really suspect is that the reporter failed to call her on why they didn't turn him in. Even though they should have, esp if they stand for what they claim they do.
