Adopt An Abortion Clinic,

spiritually that is, so you can pray for its closing.

Some years ago I came across a prayer card from Priests for Life that had a Prayer for the Closing of an Abortion Mill. At the time I adopted the Emma Goldman Abortion Mill in Iowa City. I did so since that was the 1 that I had occasionally gone down to & prayed protested in front of. At the time it was also 1 of the closest to DBQ. FYI, IC had 3 sites, Goldman, Planned Parenthood & University Hospitals where our tax dollars underwrite abortions. & many other sites have since been added as PP has expanded its telemed abortion scheme. As I have pointed out before, it looks like they have DBQ in their sights as well.

Over the years a huge number of people have prayed for the closing of abortion clinics. & many have closed in answer to those prayers. 40 Days of Prayer has seen several of the mills targetted by prayer closed. But many more are still open.

With today being the 38th Anniversary of Roe v Wade & Doe v Bolton that enabled the wholesale spread of abortion mills, I would like to challenge us to recommit our efforts to work for the closing all all abortion clinics. & as I have said countless times, our efforts must be undergirded with prayer. So, I would like to issue the following challenge to everyone to adopt a specific abortion mill & pray the prayer written by Fr. Pavone for the closing of that mill.

Here is the prayer:

Father, all life is in Your care.
You have entrusted us to one another,
that we may show our brothers and sisters
the same love You have for us.
We pray, then, for the least among us,
the children in the womb.
Protect them from the violence of abortion.
We pray for those that are scheduled to die at (Name the abortion mill assigned to you).
Save them from death.
Give new hope to their parents,
that they may turn away from the desperate act of abortion.
Grant conversion to the abortionist and to the staff.
Show us how we are to respond to the bloodshed in our midst,
And lead us to the day when this place of death
Will be transformed into a haven of life.
Guard us with your joy and your peace,
For in You, life is victorious.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Another "spiritual adoption" prayer I daily prayer is the 1 written by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Angel Force Club on EWTN has been promoting the praying of this prayer.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
I love you very much.
I beg you to save the life of the unborn baby
that I have spiritually adopted,
and is in danger
of abortion.

& of course I also urge continued praying of the Rosary as well as the Divine Mercy Chaplet as a part of your prayers for the closing of the mills, the changing of the law & esp for the women who are facing the decision to abort, that they will be lead to Pro-life Crisis Pregnancy Centers & chose life rather than abortion. Many other prayers are available from Priests For Life, Human Life International, & American Life League (among others). & of course, any heartfelt prayer of your own is important as well. We must remember to pray for the conversion of those working at the mills. Also, that God will lead those who have had an abortion to repent of their sin & seek the healing from God the need. While this side of eternity we will probably have no idea of how many lives we have saved through our prayers, I can assure you that God is hearing our prayers & that lives are being saved.

Also, I might suggest that we ask the intercession of the saints. Some to especially call on are The Blessed Virgin Mary & St. Joseph. But there are many others. Obviously the Holy Innocents who were murdered at Herod's orders are another group. But there are many other saints, blesseds, venerables & servants of God to call on.
Some of them include St. Gerard Majella (Patron of Expeectant Mothers) Blessed Margaret de Castello (born a dwarf, blind & disfigured, abandoned by her parents she is considered by many to be a patron of the Pro-life movement), St. Gianna Beretta Molla (she refused an abortion during her 4th pregnancy), Bishop Sheen (see above prayer), & St. John Bosco (because of his love for children). These are just a few saints, etc. There are many many others as well. I also can 100% guarentee you that any saint will gladly join in & intercede for this cause as well.
