About 25 minutes ago, 40-45 of us wrapped up an hour of praying the Rosary & Divine Mercy Chaplet in front of the Planned Parentood site in DBQ that I mentioned in an earlier
post. Given that this was a weekday, that is about the number of people you would expect. But what makes it a sign of how committed the Pro-life movement is that the temperature in DBQ is hovering around a nice balmy 0ºF. For those of you in Canada & elsewhere that use Celsius that comes to -17.77777777777778°C. & for you science minded it comes to 255.222 °K. The sun was shining & no wind, but any way you look at it, it was still cold.
Now I am not saying this to brag but to point out an interesting fact I have noticed. & that is the commitment of those in the Pro-life movement to not let the fact that the weather is bad stop us. Yes, when it gets too cold or wet some people for health reasons can't make it, but they are the exception. But, even then, usually only in extreme conditions. & yes, there are some who won't brave the extreme cold. But as I said, the majority of people in the movement are willing to show up even in cold weather.
In fact, I have to say that I have never seen any counterprotestors in DBQ at the
DBQ Co. Right to Life annual event. (Which they have been promoting heavily on the radio). Nor do they show up at the Life Chain in October. The only time I can ever remember seeing any counterprotestors is when the weather is warm & dry at an event during the Summer. & then only down in Iowa City.
Yes, there are people committed to the Pro-abortion side, but I have noticed they are not willing to pay the price that the Pro-lifers are. & in the end, God is going to bless all those sacrifices, the big like these, & the little as well. The fruit will be that abortion will be ended in America & life will be protected from that 1st instant to natural death.
