Dubuque, IA (November 11, 2010) – Steven N. Brody, Executive Director of Dubuque County Right to Life, Inc. issued the following statement today regarding the announcement that late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart intends to open three new abortion clinics, including one in Council Bluffs, Iowa:
“Iowa has become ground zero in the fight to protect both the unborn child and the mother. The abortion industry is committed to doing whatever is necessary to stay in business at the expense of murdered babies and injured mothers.
“First, it is Planned Parenthood’s flaunting of Iowa law and FDA protocols in killing babies via webcam. Now comes news that late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart intends to bring his killing centers to Iowa. Carhart is one of the few left in this country that will terminate a pregnancy for any reason up until the moment the baby is due to be born.
“If LeRoy Carhart thinks that Iowa is an abortion-friendly state, he is about to encounter a rude awakening. The pro-life and pro-family coalition that has formed to fight telemed abortions, combined with a newly-elected pro-life friendly Governor and Legislature, will work as a united front to remove the welcome mat from under his feet.
Dubuque County Right to Life is a non-profit, non-sectarian, educational organization dedicated to preserving and fostering a respect for human life from conception to natural death. We educate the public about the dangers of abortion, euthanasia, and infanticide.
