The Most Interesting Winter Olympic Sport I Don't Understand

Curling. I've been watching the competition at the Olympics during my breaks at work. I find it fascinating, but I know very little about it. That doesn't mean I haven't been trying though. But there is 1 thing I will never get, why Norway had decided on what I consider ugly for their uniform pants. Cognrats to Canada on their win in the men's competition Saturday.

Heaviest Element Yet Known to Science Discovered
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California has now identified with certainty the heaviest element known to science.
The new element, Pelosium (PL), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.
Pelosium is inert, and has no charge and no magnetism. Nevertheless, it can be detected because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Pelosium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.
Pelosium has a normal half-life of 2 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a biennial reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.
Pelosium mass will increase over time, since each reorganization will promote many morons to become isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Pelosium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.
When catalyzed with money, Pelosium becomes Senatorium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Pelosium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

Now, I am NOT Saying This Is a Fulfillment of Prophecy

but it does present a possible, & I emphasis possible, glimpse of how Revelation 13:17 might be fulfilled. "And that no man might buy or sell, but he that has the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Regardless, this is still very scary. & it giives us more insight into the type of government Obama & his administration envisions. This is definitely NOT a pretty picture.
I repeat, I am not making any specific claims about Obama being the Anti-Christ or that this actually is the definitive fulfillment of that prophecy, just offering it as a possible fulfillment or something that might lead to it. I remember when the mark was supposed to be a tatoo, then it was the UPC, etc. So the only thing I am saying here is that this could simply be used as way for big brother to control you. Or it could be something more. Or nothing at all if it doesn't pass.
Imagine, if you will, that you are living in a changed America, or in President Obama’s words, an America that begged “re-making.” In this now-changed America, hope is in big government and her closest ally, big science.
Now imagine that you and your spouse give birth to a child in this brave, new America, in a hospital linked by law to the federal citizens database. Immediately upon your child’s birth, a hospital clerk assigns your newborn with a “Unique Health Identifier” (UHI), a specially coded number, which is then put into a national electronic database, along with your newborn’s fingerprints and any other identifiers the bureaucrats in D.C. have demanded.
Sex. Weight. Length. Race. APGAR score. Health appraisal at birth, including any disfigurements or handicaps, identifying traits or birthmarks, and DNA markers. Information about the child’s parents, such as names, age, race, number of prior pregnancies, number of prior births, number of prior abortions, education attained, occupations, finger prints and criminal records, if any, are also stored. Almost anything can be included in the database for future government needs, whatever those might be.
Imagine that all constitutional safeguards for an individual’s privacy are deemed to have been complied with, when compiling this database, because healthcare is an interstate activity that the Feds can regulate and government access to the information improves the “general welfare.” Imagine that it is even required that your newborn, before leaving the hospital, be fitted with a surgically implanted microchip, the way babies are now, in many states, required to be vaccinated and blood-typed. The implanted microchip can then be accessed with a scanner by anyone who has a scanning device, with or without parental consent.
Imagine an America where your Unique Health Identifier (UHI) is required for every access to a nationally controlled healthcare system. Imagine an America, where you must give your UHI, via a scan of your surgically implanted biochip, to pick up your prescription at the pharmacy and even when you buy over the counter medications. The number could eventually be required to purchase alcohol and tobacco products, perhaps even to track quantities of bakery goods, chocolates, trans-fats, beef, and even birth control products — or anything else the nanny bureaucrats decide to monitor.
Sound farfetched? Like a plot from a conspiracy-theory movie? Like something from a sci-fi novel?
Think again.
The plans to make these very things a reality right here in America are being made in this administration, under the leadership of the president’s science guru, John Holdren.
For the past several months, I have been working with an appointed member of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), the sub-committee on health and technology. My contact on the health and technology sub-committee was privy to conversations, which when related to me, literally caused shivers down my spine.
Every single detail in my opening paragraphs of this article were actually discussed in this committee and seen as a good for the future of American society. Only a scientifically controlled populace, according to these gurus of population and health control, can survive. These scientists see their mission as one of absolute control over even the most private aspects of human life.
Not since the aftermath of WWII — when the ends of the scientific-progressive state were revealed to the world in vivid pictures of the Nazi death camps — have progressives dared to raise their heads in America to such a degree as they are now, under the leadership of Obama’s science guru, John Holdren. Holdren, early in his career, declared himself a Malthusian scientist and has, regretfully, never recanted, nor substantially altered his worldview. In Holdren’s mind, as revealed in confirmation testimony, only his numbers have been off in the past, not his conclusions on the necessity of scientific control as a societal good.
Unfortunately, some of the groundwork for Holdren’s scientist-controlled America was lain in the 1996 passage of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Part of HIPAA legislation was the requirement for the development of the Unique Health Identifier (UHI) for individuals. As detailed by this White Paper by Department of Health and Human Services:
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) outlines a process to achieve uniform national health data standards and health information privacy in the United States. Enacted with the widespread support of the industry and bipartisan support in the Congress, the law requires that the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) adopt standards to support the electronic exchange of a variety of administrative and financial health care transactions.
In 2003, privacy rules were enacted that purportedly protect the individual’s right to healthcare confidentiality. However, a provision of these privacy rules includes a powerful, blanket waiver, which can be used at the discrimination of a “Privacy Board,” acting under HHS. All privacy rules can be disregarded for research or other “necessary” purpose:
If the covered entity receives appropriate documentation that an IRB or Privacy Board has granted a waiver or an alteration of the Authorization requirement
In other words, American citizens will continue to have the right to privacy and confidentiality between themselves and their healthcare providers, if and only if, the Department of Health and Human Services deems that right justified. If, on the other hand, the HHS deems the open availability of an individual’s or groups of individuals’ healthcare information to be necessary to the “general welfare,” then a waiver will be granted without the citizen’s consent or even his knowledge. And this is perfectly legal.
Making something legal, of course, does not make that thing moral or ethical.
A scientist, like John Holdren, along with the support of PCAST and its sub-committee on health and technology, would seem to be nudging Americans towards sublimating their individual needs to the collective, especially in terms of population control and the various side issues, like preventing the births of those they deem unsuitable for their brave new America.
According to my source on the health and technology sub-committee, ultimate biological control of the population is the end goal of the federal healthcare initiative, now being force-fed by the president and the Democratic Party congressional leaders.
Members of this sub-committee were even heard discussing how women’s menstrual periods could be state monitored. How people’s defecation might be monitored and used to detect broad health concerns through electronic toilet management systems. How sexual habits could be state-monitored by managing the sale of all birth-control technology through the use of the UHI.
Insanity seems too mild a word to describe the kind of mind that would want to create this sort of world. These people make Dr. Frankenstein seem like a child playing tiddlywinks in his backyard playpen.
Yet, without passage of one of the current healthcare bills, which provide for the creation of the federal bureaucracies that will be tasked with numbering the whole populace, controlling which medical therapies are given to chosen citizens, and the completion of the electronic medical records system, all of these brave-new-America visions for control will be stymied and postponed indefinitely.
Perhaps this explains why President Obama and his Party are willing to commit political suicide for the passage of this particular healthcare overhaul. Without it, they may fail in their grand plan to “re-make” America according to their scientific-state, progressive delusions.
With it, nothing else may matter.
Knowledge is power, said Frances Bacon.
And the knowledge of every detail of an individual’s health and lifestyle would be a powerful weapon in the hands of bureaucrats and their political masters.
America, the land of the free and home of the brave? Perhaps, not for much longer, if the president and his scientific-progressives have their way. For in their “utopian” world, you and I are nothing much but a number, a stock item, to be controlled for their purposes.
For as Frances Bacon also said, “The desire of power in excess caused the angels to fall; the desire of knowledge in excess caused man to fall.”
It doesn’t take much more than a casual glance at the downfall of the others who’ve tried this mad-science controlled government scheme to see that it isn’t a winner. Both the Nazis and the Soviets, who built their own totalitarian regimes on Malthusian scientific themes did fall – albeit only after killing untold millions of their own citizens.
The scientifically controlled state as a vehicle for advancing human progress? Hardly. As human beings have tragically learned, over and over again, science without morality can indeed be the most efficient killer.
It’s not hard to believe that big government would want this kind of power over the lives of individual citizens. What is indeed difficult to believe is that this is happening in America.
The only question now is who will stop it?

What the Census Bureau Can & CAN"T Ask You Under the Constitution

To save you a little time here is what Article I, Section 2, clause 3 says: "actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct." That's it, just a count of people who live there & only for the purpose of apportioning the number of Representatives and direct Taxes among the states. Nothing else. All the rest are surveys that we do NOT have to answer under the Constitution.

Over the last few weeks the Census Bureau has been running some ads that I find, bluntly, insulting to my intelligence. They make it sound like we need a census every year otherwise we would be way too dumb to know what our community does or doesn't need. While the census does help us know how our state & local community is or isn't growing, if our local officials can't figure out what is going on between the decennial counts then they should be fired or kicked out of office & replaced by people who know what they are doing. The Census Bureau ads are an effort to brainwash us into giving up more control to the Federal government that never was & still isn't theirs under the Constitution.

For the record, I plan on answering all the Constitutionally required questions.

Finally, if you don't have a copy of the Constitution, follow the link I have at the right under Charters of Freedom. You can also go to your local bookstore & buy a copy for a very inexpensive price. Many groups like The Heritage Foundation also have copies available for a reasonable price or free in some cases. I would also recommend getting a copy of The Federalist Papers as well. In addition, there is a paperback called The Anti-Federalist Papers and the Constitutional Convention Debates that contains a selection of the complete Anti- Federalist Papers (available on the internet here). These books are invaluable for a better understanding of how our Federal Government should & shouldn't operate.

"Are We There Yet????"

Not yet, but we are closer to getting close-up pictures of Pluto than we ever had, about 30 years later than originally planned however. Because of the way the outer planets ined up in the 1980s there was a Planetary Grand Tour discussed in the 1960s. The original plan had 2 flybys of Pluto. But like what we see now with the Moon, budget cuts killed that. Then there were plans to still have Voyager 1 go by Pluto. That was changed when a flyby of Saturn's moon Titan was made instead.
But now we are finally going to get the close up view we should have gotten back then. Meanwhile if te recent Hubble pictures are any clue, the flyby will be much like the various missions to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus & Neptune over the decades & we will have more surprizes that will lead to more questions. & will again show us that God has more up His sleeve than we can know or imagine.

Spacecraft Hits Midpoint on Flight to Pluto

A NASA spacecraft speeding across the solar system has officially covered half the distance of its trip to Pluto and its moons.
On Thursday, NASA's New Horizons probe zoomed past the 1.48 billion-mile (2.39 billion-km) mark, completing half the travel distance between Earth in 2006, when it launched, and where Pluto will be when the spacecraft arrives in July 2015.
"From here on out, we're on approach to an encounter with the Pluto system," said New Horizons principal investigator Alan Stern of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colo. "The second half of the journey begins."
New Horizons has been billed as NASA's fastest mission to visit another world. It is zooming across the solar system at about 36,000 mph (nearly 58,000 kph). Next month, it will cross the orbit of Uranus.
The spacecraft is headed to study the dwarf planet Pluto and its three moons — Nix, Hydra and Charon. New Horizons will not stop and orbit Pluto.
Instead, it will record detailed observations during a flyby and then head out into the Kuiper Belt on the edge of the solar system to study the icy objects lurking in that cosmic realm.
Thursday's distance marker is the latest in a string of mission milestones for New Horizons. In December 2009, the probe hit its first waypoint directly between the sun and Pluto's location. On April 20, the spacecraft will be at the midpoint between the sun and where Pluto will be in 2015.
On Oct. 17, New Horizons will have completed the first half of its decade-long trip, by flight time.
Pluto is an oddball world that was discovered 80 years ago this month by astronomer Clyde Tombaugh. In 2006, it was downgraded from a planet to dwarf planet.
New images of Pluto released earlier this month and taken by the Hubble Space Telescope revealed that the icy world's seasons change and affect its color.

Maafa 21 - The Review

OK, I know I have talked about Maafa 21 before. But last night I saw it again & again I have to say this is a "MUST SEE".
This movie is a very well researched documentary that really blows the lid off of the dirty secret that the abortion industry & its roots in eugenics is about eliminating blacks, not helping out women as they like to claim.
Maafa 21 was produced by Life Dynamics & its founder, Mark Crutcher. Back in the 90s they produced a book that looked at the abortion industry & how unsafe it is called Lime 5 that I have talked about before. That book was very well researched & documented. & as I have said already so is this movie.
This movie traces the roots of the modern abortion industry to the end of the Civil War. Shortly thereafter the eugenics movement started. You will see its relationship to evolution & its use as a tool to promote eugenics. (FYI: the original title of Darwin's book was On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. & yes, you read the last part of that right. part of the goal of the book was to show how certain races, like the white race, were superior.) From there it shows the growth of the eugenics movement & groups like Planned Parenthood that sprung out of it. It shows Planned Parenthood continues that goal to this day.
There are so many things that it covers that you have to see the movie more than once to catch the full impact. It shows such things as the connections between Hitler & the American Eugenics movement. It is non-partisan in that it shows the ugly truth of the elites in both parties & their goal to reduce the number of blacks. It shows how groups like the NAACP & politicians like Jesse Jackson have been co-opted by PP. They sold out for money to put it bluntly.
1 interesting bit was its look at how Plannd parenthood used a disaster in Haiti a few years ago to raise funds for birth control. Just like the did after the recent earthquake down there.
1 of my favorite parts is the sermon given at the end of the movie by Rev. Johnny Hunter. he lays it on the line about how abortion is a "womb lynching".
As I write this I find myself very fustrated at not being able to put effectively into words a short summary of the movie. It is impossible to really give full justice to all that is in the movie. This is not a movie for younger children to see. But it is a movie for anyone who wants to know the truth about the real agenda behind the promotion of abortion, It will shock, it will disgust & it will make you angry. But it will also motivate you to action.

Again, I repeat this is a "MUST SEE" movie. It will provide you with a plethora of useful information that I hope will someday also be put into book form.

_________________
Note: there is the other side of this coin as well, & that is the making of money off of their eliminating blacks. For Planned parenthood & their ilk, they have the best of both worlds, making a fortune through government funding & helping the elite to acheive their goal while keeping their fingerprints well hidden.

Archbishop Dolan: Bishop's Office Calls for a "prophetic" Voice

NY Archbishop on Outspoken Abortion Teaching: I'm Just Doing My Job

By Kathleen Gilbert
NEW YORK, February 26, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Following a period of relative silence since his installation last year, New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan eagerly took an opportunity to set forth Church teaching on controversial points, including the forbidding of public honors for pro-abortion politicians, in a recent interview with NY1. The bishop also asserted that his outspokenness on such issues was simply part of his job as shepherd and teacher of the faith.
When NY1 News reporter Roma Torre asked whether a pro-abortion Catholic should be invited to a "Catholic event" such as the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, Dolan's response was unequivocal.
"Actually, Roma, I don't think we should invite anybody that would take a stance [in favor of] abortion, because this is not a Catholic issue," he replied.
The archbishop later clarified that his answer pertained to giving public honors to such persons.
"In our mind, being opposed to abortion, is a civil rights issue, it's a natural law issue, it's not a Catholic issue," Dolan continued. "We'd be uncomfortable in anybody that would, say, promote a stand that would be for bigotry, or against civil rights, because that's contrary not only to the teaching of the Church but to what we would call civil rights and the natural law."
The archbishop said that a pro-abortion Catholic such as New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo would be "welcome" to a Catholic event - but "there's a difference between everybody being welcome, and providing somebody who is dramatically, radically, publically at odds with the Church on a particularly given issue to have a place of prominence and to receive an award."
When the University of Notre Dame announced last year that the pro-abortion President Obama would offer the commencement address and receive an honorary law degree at the school, the New York archbishop condemned the invitation as a "big mistake."
Dolan, who has earned a reputation for outspokenness promoting Catholic orthodoxy on life and family issues, explained that his goal is not to "look for headlines." It was because of his office as teacher, he said, that he "won't duck the tough issues."
"It's not like I sit down and say: How can I grab some headlines, how can I really cause a splash," Dolan said. "You just try to do your work, and sometimes things get attention. ...
"If people ask me, I feel obliged as a teacher, as the official teacher of the Archdiocese of New York, to try my best to give the Church's wisdom here."
Dolan noted that he was "grateful" that the New York legislature struck down a same-sex "marriage" bill last year. He also affirmed that the St. Patrick's Day Parade should continue disallowing a gay pride banner, which would conflict with the parade's "strong Christian identity."
But, he said, it would be a mistake to understand the Church's stance against such matters as mere naysaying.
Instead, he said: "the Church in a way is one big yes: one big yes to human life, one big yes to anything that advances, lifts up, enlightens, liberates legitimate human identity. We're in the 'yes' business, not the 'no' business.
"So I get frustrated sometimes, when that's interpreted as being 'anti-gay,' that's where we kinda cringe," he continued, "because believe it or not, we get attacked from the other extreme for defending the rights of gays and for the strong Church teaching that every single human being ... is a child of God, deserving of dignity and respect."
Dolan called the late John Cardinal O'Connor of New York, who was outspokenly pro-life, his "hero" - and acknowledged that his office calls for a "prophetic" voice, although he prefers using a persuasive tone when possible.
"There's always a little bit of tension between those two," said Dolan. "But occasions might call that I'll have to be prophetic. I'm sure there's gonna be times ... that I'm gonna have to be a bit of a pitbull. In general, I like to be an Irish Setter." See the complete video of the NY1 television interview here

Required Truth In Labeling Video

Ditto for me!

I Thought the Dems Mantra Was "Keep the Government's Hands Off My Body?"

Oh, that's right, that only applies when it comes to abortion. & then only to the woman, not the unborn child. & before someone starts acusing us Pro-lifers of a double standard, there isn't 1. The government has the responsibility to protect the right of life for all, born & unborn. Beyond that, what the government can & can't do is limited by the Constitution & the Constitution's foundational document, the Declaration of Independence. In other words, LIFE, LIBERTY & the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS, but not what you can or can't eat, esp if it makes you happy!!!!!

Cartoon by John Cole

This Really Is How They See the Pro-Life Movement

Terrorist: 2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others. (emphasis mine)

I ws reading the following on the Rockford Pro-Life Initiative website when I decided to look up the definition of terrorist to confirm my suspicion that they really see us that way:
" In what seems to be a coordinated effort by a few abortion supporters, led by a pro-abortion alderman who calls pro-lifers "terrorists", the abortion mill security guard was quoted in the paper as labeling "terrorists", the mothers and grandmothers who sidewalk counsel. Additionally, a racist supporter of the abortion clinic calls ALL Christians "terrorists".

Worst of all, the Northern Illinois Women's Center building where over 50,000 beating human hearts have been snuffed out has a sign calling any person who COMES NEAR the building a "pervert" and a "terrorist". It seems if you don't support the killing of children in the womb, they want to brand you a "terrorist"."
The definition above confirmed what I suspected. They are frightened by the Pro-Life Movement & in particular the 40 Days for Life Campaign. Why? Because they work to show they truth that the pro-abortion "culture of death" is wrong in its stands on life & abortion. 4o Days & sidewalk counciling works to prevent abortions. 40 Days & sidewalk prayful protesting works to close abortion clinics in a peaceful way. The Pro-aborts are definitely frightened by all these things happenning. So in their minds were are terrorists, not because we use terror, but because they are afraid of our success.
As the article goes on to say: "The promoters and supporters of the culture of death in Rockford know full well that not one pro-life sidewalk counselor has ever had a complaint lodged against him by a mother entering the clinic. This has been confirmed by the Rockford police department. The alderman and the abortion mill staff know full well that it is only peaceful and prayerful individuals, families, and Church groups who quietly pray and fast during 40 Days for Life.

They also know it is the mission of the Rockford Pro-Life Initiative to bring an end to abortion through prayer and fasting. This is what strikes terror into their hearts and minds. They cannot stand the fact that the Rockford pro-life movement is responding to the violence, brutality, and death of the abortion industry with sacrificial love
." (emphasis mine)
"The Christians who pray and fast for an end to the killing of children in Rockford are a constant reminder to those who work for or support the Rockford abortion industry that what they are doing is killing a child in every abortion.
The pro-abortion supporters try to hide behind words like "choice" and "reproductive freedom", but deep down in their heart of hearts, their consciences are pricked every time they see a faithful Christian peacefully praying .
They know they are harming God's "little ones." That is why at the Rockford abortion mill, we see such a public and vicious attack on God. They are desperately trying to convince themselves that God is not concerned about what happens to a child in an abortion.

But in every human heart and soul, the knowledge of God is there; that is why when they see a Christian, they feel "terror" inside. It is not because a Christian offering help and love to a mother entering the mill is wrong, not because a follower of Christ is quietly praying on the sidewalk, but because these Christians represent the love and human goodness the pro--abortion supporters have rejected
." (emphasis mine)
"When they see a peaceful Christian praying for an end to abortion or offering help to a mother in need, they KNOW those Christians understand the truth about what the abortion staff members are doing. It causes a kind of fear and terror in their hearts because they are afraid that the world will one day realize and understand that THEY have participated in the brutal murder of a baby in every abortion. That is the REAL "terror" they speak so much about." (EMPHASIS MINE)
The article goes on to ask: "So What Is Our Response?"
The answer is simple: "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" - Jesus of Nazareth

& what the article goes on to say specificly about those praying at the Rockford abortion mill applies to how all of us must ACT: "We must and shall continue to love and stand with the children facing death at the Northern Illinois Woman's Center. We will continue to offer truth and love to the mothers and fathers lied to by the culture of death, and we will also pray for, love, and fast for the conversion of all those who kill the "least of Christ's people" at Rockford's abortion mill."
& the final paragraph is definitely how we all must act towards all those involved in the abortion industry: "We will continue to love and pray for them in the hopes that one day the internal terror they feel will cause them to reject the killing of babies in the womb and help them to repentance, healing, and life in Jesus Christ." (emphasis mine) May that day soon come about.
PS: Part of the reason they Rockford Center is even more angry is the success that the 40 Days for Life Campaign has had. As they report" "Four babies have been saved at the Rockford abortion facility! On average there are usually 4 or 5 saves in a month." Any wonder they Rockford Center is lashing out when they are seeing this level of prayer answered?

As Someone Who Works at a "Catholic" College This Is (Sadly) Very Believable

Study: Female Students More Promiscuous at Catholic Colleges
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A new study concludes that women at Catholic colleges are more promiscuous than their peers at secular colleges, raising new alarms about the state of Catholic higher education.

Another study finds that colleges with strong “moral communities” have a positive influence on students’ religious practice—but Catholic colleges generally lack clarity about the Catholic faith and have the same impact on Catholic students as do public universities.

“The evidence is clear: there is a serious crisis in much of Catholic higher education, and the consequences are real for Catholic families,” said Patrick J. Reilly, President of The Cardinal Newman Society. “We need to pay more attention to those Catholic colleges that are consistently faithful as models for the renewal of Catholic education.”

Researchers from Mississippi State University looked at a survey of 1,000 college students nationwide and were surprised to find that “women attending colleges and universities affiliated with the Catholic Church are almost four times as likely to have participated in ‘hooking up’ compared to women at secular schools. A “hook up” is defined as a casual physical encounter with a male student, without the expectation of an ongoing relationship.

The researchers consider whether the data challenges the “moral communities” argument, according to which some analyst believe that campus communities with shared moral convictions tend to have a strong moral influence on students.

“At first blush, these results might appear to challenge the ‘moral communities’ thesis,” the researchers write, because students are behaving contrary to Catholic teaching while attending Catholic institutions. “On closer inspection, however, our findings might instead suggest that not all religiously affiliated colleges and universities constitute ‘moral communities.’”

Overall, the study found clear differences in the sexual activity of Catholic students who attend weekly Mass. Whereas 24 percent of Catholic women who attend Mass weekly have “hooked up” (compared to 38 percent of nonreligious students), the rate more than doubles to 50 percent of Catholic women who attend Mass infrequently—far more than their nonreligious peers.

The study was published in the September 2009 issue of the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, but went unnoticed prior to a Religion News Service article on Thursday.

In the same journal issue, Calvin College professor Jonathan Hill reports on his study comparing the experiences of students at Catholic colleges, mainline Protestant colleges, and generally more fervent evangelical colleges. Hill examines student attendance at religious services and finds a marked difference at the more conservative Protestant colleges, where religious convictions are shared and embraced by strong “moral communities.”

At Catholic colleges, however, “annual declines in religious service attendance [are] approximately 2.5 times the rate of students enrolled in public higher education.” The declines are primarily found among non-Catholic Christians, but Catholic students are no more religious than their peers at public universities—a finding that is confirmed by the Georgetown study. Hill attributes the lax religiosity at Catholic colleges to the lack of a “clear, robust, religious tradition on many of these campuses.”

In a report last month, Catholic researchers at Georgetown University found significant declines in Catholic practice and fidelity among students at 34 Catholic colleges in the United States.

Likewise, a 2008 study published by The Cardinal Newman Society found that 46 percent of current and recent students at Catholic colleges nationwide—and 50 percent of female students—said they had engaged in sex outside of marriage. Three out of five agreed strongly or somewhat that premarital sex is not a sin, and 78 percent disagreed strongly or somewhat that using a condom to prevent pregnancy was a serious sin.

It's Official - They Have Made Obama Into a False God

I found this CD when going through the $5 rack at WalMart.

Here are some of the songs:

King Inside of Me

Send Me to the Nations

The Curtain's Raised

Change Is On The Way

Changes

I'm Gonna Make It

This Is Your Cue

From the promo: "This unique collection of songs captures the sense of hope that Barack Obama embodies. Performed by some of today's top Gospel artists, each of these songs were selected to pay tribute not just to our 44th President, but also to our God and country. (Forgive the sarcasm, but don't most Obamanistas see those as identical, God & Obama that is?) Recording also features several audio clips from President Obama so that you can hear his inspiring message in his own words." (emphasis mine)

Any more doubts as to how the Left views Obama????

PS: Can you imagine how the Left would have screamed if a similar CD sincerely hionoring Bush's faith was made when he was in office?

Given the number of lies & half truths I have gotten from Harkin over the years, this is no surprize to me. Harkin claims to be Catholic, yet he is pro-abortion. He claims to be an Iowan, but the only home he owns is in the Bahamas. (He does have an Iowa PO Box & a relative's address he uses for a home address.) Do I have to go on?

Senator Harkin Dishonest Over Health Care Grievance?

One of the citizen complaints read during today's health care summit was something of an inside job.
Iowa Democratic Senator Tom Harkin read a letter he said he received Tuesday from a farmer in Iowa. It said the man's health insurance premiums were going up almost 15 percent. It ended: "the health of my family and the future of my small business depends on [affordable health care.] Sincerely, Raymond Smith, Buffalo Center, Iowa."
However, Harkin did not mention that Raymond Smith is the brother of Dan Smith who works for the senator. Harkin's office says he read the farmer's full name and city and therefore had nothing to hide.
But one former Buffalo Center resident says Harkin was being disingenuous and dishonest for not disclosing the connection.

Something Tells Me Hillary Was Not Amused at Being Forced to Hear the Truth About Abortion

I would have loved to see Hillary's face. I am sure that she was trying to keep from squirming.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified before a Congressional committee on Thursday where two pro-life members of Congress presented her with a long lecture on abortion and how it hurts women. Clinton appeared before the House Foreign Affairs Committee to talk about the International Affairs Budget.
Congressmen Chris Smith, a New Jersey Republican, and Jeff Fortenberry, a Nebraska Republican, both addressed pro-life issues during the hearing.
Smith, who had frequently led the fight against abortion on an international scale, made his full remarks with Clinton sitting as the lone witness at the witness table.
"Secretary Clinton, the most persecuted and at risk minority in the world today are unborn children," Smith said. "Pregnancy is not a disease. The child in the womb is neither a tumor nor a parasite to be destroyed."
Smith said he is troubled by President Barack Obama's decision to overturn the Mexico City Policy and open the door forcing taxpayers to fund abortions in other nations.
"I am deeply concerned that with the elimination of the Mexico City Policy by executive order last year, NGO implementing partners may actively seek to integrate abortion with the many necessary and noble undertakings funded by the Global Health Initiative," he said.
"I respectfully ask that the administration consider that for many of us, all abortion—legal or illegal—is violence against children and poses significant, often underappreciated risks to women and even to children later born to post-abortive women," Smith added.
Smith also talked about the numerous studies and research conducted showing abortion is not safe for women or children.
"Madame Secretary, the term 'safe abortion' is the ultimate oxymoron," Smith said.
"Child dismemberment, forced premature explosion from the womb by chemicals like misoprostol, deliberate child starvation by RU 486, can never, ever be construed to be benign, compassionate or safe," he added.
"At least 102 studies show significant psychological harm, major depression and elevated suicide risk in women who abort," Smith continued.
"In 2006, a comprehensive New Zealand study found that almost 78.6% of the 15-18 year olds who had abortions displayed symptoms of major depression as compared to 31% of their peers. The study also found that 27% of the 21-25 year old women who had abortions had suicidal idealizations compared to 8% of those who did not," the congressman explained. "At least 28 studies -- including three in 2009 -- show that abortion increases the risk of breast cancer by some 30-40% or more. Yet the abortion industry has largely succeeded in suppressing these facts."
Ultimately, Smith told Clinton that the best way to help women impoverish nations is not by advancing abortion but by promoting better medical care.
"I would respectfully submit that if we are truly serious about reducing maternal mortality, women, especially in the developing world, need access to proper maternal health care, skilled birth attendants, safe blood and clinics where obstructed deliveries can be turned into safe passages," he said. "Abortion, on the other hand, solves nothing, kills children, harms women and should in no way be integrated into any global action plan or country specific strategy otherwise designed to mitigate maternal mortality."
Smith closed his statement to Clinton by focusing on the problems of forced abortions in China and the human rights abuses that accompany them.

Duty to Protect the Inalienable Right to Lifeby Rep. Chris Smith
House Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing on Fiscal Year 2011 International Affairs Budget
Witness: The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton
February 25, 2010
Secretary Clinton, the most persecuted and at risk minority in the world today are unborn children.
Today ultrasound imaging has given us a window into the womb and to the child within. Microsurgery and a myriad of fetal health interventions are commonplace, yet some have chosen this time in history to dehumanize and exclude unborn babies.
Unborn children ought to be viewed as humanity’s youngest patients, in need of proper prenatal care, nurturing, and when sick, diagnosis and treatment. The prevention of mother to child HIV transmission got a major boost from PEPFAR and I'm happy to say that commitment continues in the Global Health Initiative (GHI).
The Global Health Initiative must, however, ensure that even the unplanned and unintended child is welcomed, cared for and included in the initiative.
I was disappointed to read on page 14 of the GHI Consultation Document that unintended pregnancy seems to be relegated to the status of a disease—juxtaposed between HIV and tropical disease.
Pregnancy is not a disease. The child in the womb is neither a tumor nor a parasite to be destroyed.
I am deeply concerned that with the elimination of the Mexico City Policy by executive order last year, NGO implementing partners may actively seek to integrate abortion with the many necessary and noble undertakings funded by the Global Health Initiative.
I respectfully ask that the administration consider that for many of us, all abortion—legal or illegal—is violence against children and poses significant, often underappreciated risks to women and even to children later born to post-abortive women.
Madame Secretary, the term “safe abortion” is the ultimate oxymoron. Child dismemberment, forced premature explosion from the womb by chemicals like misoprostol, deliberate child starvation by RU 486, can never, ever be construed to be benign, compassionate or safe. UN Millennium Development Goal #4 seeks to reduce child mortality. Abortion is child mortality.
At least 102 studies show significant psychological harm, major depression and elevated suicide risk in women who abort.
Recently, the Times of London reported that, “[S]enior…psychiatrists say that new evidence has uncovered a clear link between abortion and mental illness in women with no previous history of psychological problems.” They found, “that women who have had abortions have twice the level of psychological problems and three times the level of depression as women who have given birth or who have never been pregnant…”
In 2006, a comprehensive New Zealand study found that almost 78.6% of the 15-18 year olds who had abortions displayed symptoms of major depression as compared to 31% of their peers. The study also found that 27% of the 21-25 year old women who had abortions had suicidal idealizations compared to 8% of those who did not.
At least 28 studies—including three in 2009—show that abortion increases the risk of breast cancer by some 30-40% or more. Yet the abortion industry has largely succeeded in suppressing these facts.
So-called safe abortion inflicts other deleterious consequences on women as well including hemorrhage, infection, perforation of the uterus, sterility and death. Just last month, a woman from my home state of New Jersey died from a legal abortion, leaving behind four children.
Safe abortion? Not for subsequent children born to women who have had an abortion. At least 113 studies show a significant association between abortion and subsequent premature births. For example, a study by researchers Shah and Zoe showed a 36% increased risk for pre-term birth after one abortion and a staggering 93% increased risk after two.
Similarly, the risk of subsequent children being born with low birth weight increases by 35% after one and 72% after two or more abortions. Another study shows the risk increases 9 times after a woman has had three abortions.
What does this mean for her children? Preterm birth is the leading cause of infant mortality in the industrialized world after congenital anomalies. Preterm infants have a greater risk of suffering from chronic lung disease, sensory deficits, cerebral palsy, cognitive impairments, and behavioral problems. Low birth weight is similarly associated with neonatal mortality and morbidity.
Today, some governments including ours, UN treaty implementation bodies including and especially CEDAW, some UN organizations including and especially UNFPA, and many non-government organizations (NGOs) are pushing—pressuring—sovereign nations to legalize, facilitate, and expand access to abortion.
For the record, the first serious sign of all-out aggressive pro-abortion lobbying took place in Cairo and the Prepcoms that preceded the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development. We had our fights in Mexico City in 1984. But not like Cairo. I know I was there.
After a rough year and an even rougher week, the Cairo outcome document and plan of action absolutely precluded any international right to abortion and dozens of countries filed an explanation of position (EOP) to ensure that their strong opposition to abortion was fully understood by all—all facts the pro-abortion NGOs want you to forget today.
Despite repeated attempts by the pro-abortion side to manipulate plainly worded text, the pro-life side emerged from Cairo with this clear admonition: “Governments should take appropriate steps to help women avoid abortion, which in no case should be promoted as a method of family planning…” Cairo also reiterated the primacy of national sovereignty on this issue, stating: “Any measures or changes related to abortion within the health system can only be determined at the national or local level according to the national legislative process.”
A year later, I was in Beijing as co-chair of the congressional delegation for the UN women’s conference. Again, attempts were made to push abortion and again a diverse consensus from the four corners of the globe rejected it.
Today, as never before, the largely preventable tragedy of maternal mortality is being exploited to promote unfettered access to abortion on demand.
I would respectfully submit that if we are truly serious about reducing maternal mortality, women, especially in the developing world, need access to proper maternal health care, skilled birth attendants, safe blood and clinics where obstructed deliveries can be turned into safe passages. Abortion, on the other hand, solves nothing, kills children, harms women and should in no way be integrated into any global action plan or country specific strategy otherwise designed to mitigate maternal mortality.
Finally, since 1979, brothers and sisters have been illegal in much of China. If a woman is caught pregnant without explicit government authorization to give birth, she is forced to abort. Unwed mothers are all compelled to abort. Handicapped unborn children, if discovered, are killed by the state. Ruinous fines—up to ten times the combined salary of both parents—jail, torture, property confiscation, loss of employment, education opportunities, housing and health care are all weapons aggressively used by the family planning cadres to ensure compliance.
No wonder over 500 Chinese women commit suicide each day in China.
And making matters even worse, the ever worsening gender disparity is frightening. Where are China’s missing girls? By the tens of millions, they are gone victims of the earliest form of discrimination against the girl child—sex selective abortion.
Surely China’s forced abortion policy and as a direct consequence—missing girls —constitutes a massive crime against women and the girl child. Why has the UNFPA supported, funded and defended China’s forced abortion policy for thirty years? Where is a strong clear voice from CEDAW protesting sex selective abortion as discrimination against the youngest of women? Where are the voices of the Human Rights Council and the UN General Assembly against this gendercide of baby girls—targeted for destruction in the womb simply because they are female?
Last November at a hearing of the Lantos Human Rights Commission, Wuijan, a Chinese student attending a US university testified about how her child was forcibly murdered by the government. She said, “[T]he room was full of moms who had just gone through a forced abortion. Some moms were crying. Some moms were mourning. Some moms were screaming. And one mom was rolling on the floor with unbearable pain.” Then Wuijan said it was her turn, and through her tears she described what she called her “journey in hell.”
Silence in the face of massive crimes against women in China—women like Wuijan—shouldn't be an option.

The Next Step Toward A Total Ban - Maybe

As with the partial-birth ban, this is only a step along the way. But it will help to focus the facts about abortion where it belongs, on the unborn child & how this harms him or her.

by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The ban on partial-birth abortions brought home the pro-life message that abortion kills an unborn child and was responsible for shifting public opinion on abortion squarely into the pro-life category. Now, Nebraska could pave the way for the next kind of abortion ban that could pique national interest.
Ironically, Nebraska was the state whose partial-birth abortion ban first got the Supreme Court to weigh in on the issue in 2000.
Eventually, Congress approved, and President George W. Bush signed, a national partial-birth abortion ban that the high court upheld on a 5-4 vote.
Now, Nebraska lawmakers are considering LB 1103, the Abortion Pain Prevention Act, that would ban abortions done on babies who are capable of feeling pain.
Fetal pain is not a new concept and the leading national expert on the topic confirms unborn children definitely have the capacity to feel intense pain during an abortion.
Dr. Kanwaljeet Anand of the University of Arkansas Medical Center has said he and other specialists in development of unborn children have shown that babies feel pain before birth as early as 20 weeks into the pregnancy.
Nebraska Right to Life director Julie Schmit-Albin previously told LifeNews.com that the bill "will provide medical documentation that unborn babies can feel pain at 20 weeks gestation."
Why does a typical piece of state legislation have the potential to make a national impact? Namely because it has the potential -- and the desire from pro-life groups -- to go to the Supreme Court and result in another chipping away at the Roe v. Wade precedent that allowed 52 million abortions nationwide.
Mary Spaulding Balch, a state legislative attorney for National Right to Life, confirmed this in comments to the Omaha World-Herald newspaper earlier this month.
“I think National Right to Life wants to see something go to the Supreme Court that would provide more protection to the unborn child,” she said.
Balch also says the pro-life group wants the Supreme Court to redraw the line away from the viability standard about when abortions can be prohibited.
“What I would like to bring to the attention of the court is, there is another line,” Balch said. “This new knowledge is something the court has not looked at before and should look at.”
Janet Crepps, of the New York-based Center for Reproductive Rights, a pro-abortion law firm that frequently files lawsuits against pro-life legislation, made it appear a legal battle is brewing.
“This bill is unconstitutional as it's drafted,” she claimed. “Anybody who supports the bill should be clear that this is just a vehicle for them to go back to the Supreme Court and take rights away from women."
National Right to Life also says the genius of the Nebraska fetal pain abortion ban is that, like the partial-birth abortion ban, has the ability to bring more people under the pro-life tent supporting a ban on some abortions.
"The genius of this measure, as was the case with the ban on partial-birth abortion, is that a legislator need not be a card-carrying member of our movement or even sympathetic. All that is required, in this instance, is a willingness to acknowledge the scientifically conclusive fact that unborn children are capable of experiencing pain, certainly by 20 weeks after fertilization,' the group says.
The basis of the bill is the concept of fetal pain, which has the ability to emphasize the humanity of the unborn child as the partial-birth abortion ban did.
Anand said many medical studies conclude that unborn babies are "very likely" to be "extremely sensitive to pain during the gestation of 20 to 30 weeks."
"This is based on multiple lines of evidence," Dr. Anand said. "Not just the lack of descending inhibitory fibers, but also the number of receptors in the skin, the level of expression of various chemicals, neurotransmitters, receptors, and things like that."
Anand explained that later-term abortion procedures, such as a partial-birth abortion "would be likely to cause severe pain."
Dr. Jean Wright, an anesthesiologist specializing in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, has also confirmed the existence of fetal pain during Congressional testimony.
“[A]n unborn fetus after 20 weeks of gestation, has all the prerequisite anatomy, physiology, hormones, neurotransmitters, and electrical current to close the loop and create the conditions needed to perceive pain. In a fashion similar to explaining the electrical wiring to a new house, we would explain that the circuit is complete from skin to brain and back," she said.
And Dr. Richard T.F. Schmidt, past President of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, confirms, “It can be clearly demonstrated that fetuses seek to evade certain stimuli in a manner which an infant or an adult would be interpreted as a reaction to pain.”
An April 2004 Zogby poll shows that 77% of Americans back "laws requiring that women who are 20 weeks or more along in their pregnancy be given information about fetal pain before having an abortion."
Only 16 percent disagreed with such a proposal, according to the poll, commissioned by the National Right to Life Committee.

No Duke, It Isn't Corny

This was filmed in 1966. John Wayne was born Marion Robert Morrison in Winterset. IA. & although he only lived about 4 years there, it is the old-fashioned Iowa values that even too many of us in Iowa have forgotten that he is spouting. Shortly before his death of cancer in 1979 he converted to Catholicism.

An Upside to Climate Change

Suddenly all this snow doesn't seem so bad, does it?
I also have to add that as I am reading about these blizzards of am reminded of the Little House book "The Long Winter". The weather in that is a lot like this year's out East. It was set during the severe winter of 1880-1881. HMMMM!!!! Maybe this isn't about any global warming or global cooling, but normal weather changes.

Snowstorms Reduced City Crime, Stats Show

BALTIMORE -- One big upside of the back-to-back snowstorms was their impact on crime.
With the weather so nasty, police have needed no other help.
As the storms gripped the city, crime plummeted. Comparing last week to the same week in 2009, the most serious crimes were down 71 percent, according to city statistics.
The fatal shooting early Tuesday morning of a man in the Park Heights neighborhood ended a nine-day stretch in Baltimore that was free of killing. That stretch put the yearly homicide total at 18 -- significantly less than the 32 homicides recorded year-to-date in 2009.
Statistics showed arrests also took a snowstorm hiatus. There were only 23 arrests in the city last week -- 79 percent fewer than the 109 arrests logged in the city for the same week in 2009.
Prosecutors said the numbers all lend credibility to an academic theory about how to succeed in crime reduction.
"If we can keep the offender indoors, it tends to reduce crime. At one time, there was a strategy that involved trying to get offenders pushed indoors so if there was a crime scene, you have a better opportunity to interview witnesses, preserve evidence and build a better case," said Margaret Burns of the city state's attorney's office.
Courts were open on Tuesday for the first time since Feb. 5.

The Deserve a Decent Burial After Their Murders

The other day I put up a post about this clinic (Another Safe & Legal Abortion Clinic Is Shown For What It Really Is ). This discovery shows us the sickness & evil that lurks behind the facade of concern about women's health the abortion industry likes to claim it has.
I like Fr. Pavone's suggestion & agree wholeheartedly with it. But I highly doubt that the Main Stream Media will give this any coverage if they did allow the funeral.
By Kathleen Gilbert STATEN ISLAND, New York, February 24, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, said today that the 24 or more bodies of dead babies found in the freezer of a Philadelphia abortion clinic should be given a reverent burial as soon as possible. Such a burial should be a public event where people can mourn the loss of life, he said. “The disrespect that the abortion industry has for the human body is seen not only in the fact that they kill these children, but also in how they treat their bodies after death,” Fr. Pavone explained.
“It is time now for the bodies of these children to be honored with a dignified burial. It should be a public event, so that our nation will have the opportunity to see that abortion is not an abstraction, and so that people can make up in some fashion for the disrespect with which these children have been treated.”
While investigating the abortion-related death of a woman at a Philadelphia abortion clinic last week, local reports say officials uncovered a macabre collection of frozen bodies of unborn children preserved in jars. Some were reportedly thought to have been preserved for as many as 30 years.
Abortionist Kermit Gosnell's license was suspended soon after the raid, following a suspension order citing "deplorable and unsanitary" conditions in his office, where officials found blood stains on the floor. Fr. Pavone has conducted a number of funerals around the country for children whose bodies were recovered from abortion facility trash dumpsters.
“Next to killing the children, there’s nothing that the abortion industry wants more than to keep the violence hidden. Our responsibility is to expose it,” Fr. Pavone concluded.

An Atypical Pro-Life Victory

But definitely
Not your typical pro-life battle, but it's a victory nonetheless. Catholic News Agency has the story.
Proposed Textbook's Treatment of Roe v. Wade Changed After Catholic Opposition
Charlotte, N.C., Feb 23, 2010 / 06:18 am (CNA).- A proposed North Carolina school textbook that described Roe v. Wade as a ruling against government oppression of rights has been altered following opposition from Catholics and other pro-life advocates.
More than 1,800 participants in the Catholic Voice campaign e-mailed the state’s Department of Public Construction with their concerns. The material was removed on Feb. 18.
Bishop of Raleigh Michael F. Burbidge and Bishop of Charlotte Peter J. Jugis wrote a letter of thanks to those who e-mailed their protest.
The bishops reported that any reference to Roe v. Wade has been removed from the essential standards and prototype assessments from the draft versions of the curriculum.
“We are grateful to all who notified the Department of Public Instruction of your opposition to the way Roe v. Wade was being used in the proposed text. We believe your voices helped to make this change possible,” the bishops added.
“May the Lord bless you for your efforts to defend the unborn and ensure that our children are being properly educated.”
The proposed text had asserted that Roe v. Wade, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that mandated permissive abortion laws nationwide, was an example of the Supreme Court upholding rights “against oppressive government.”
If the text were approved, the bishops had warned, children would be taught the textbook’s interpretation was the correct one. They had argued the proposed text implied that opposition to Roe v. Wade was wrong.
Not only is the implication that opposition to Roe v. Wade wrong, but so is the premise. The decision created rights not articulated in the Constitution, and stands as a testament to judicial activism. And the proposed textbook stands as evidence that indoctrination of children does occur through revisionist history and inaccurate (and in some cases, downright fraudulent) interpretations and explanations of past events.
It's good to see that at least in this case, liberal proponents of the Culture of Death were thwarted. Makes me wonder, though, just how many more inaccuracies slip through the cracks.

Planned Parenthood's Goal - Putting an End to Black History

by Timmerie Millington
Back to the roots of abortion in the United States... Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, eugenicist and supporter of black genocide, had ulterior motives in founding Planned Parenthood that are now leading to the destruction of a race. Blacks make up only 12% of the Unites States population, yet to date 37% of abortions take place on black women.
In the 1857 Supreme Court decisions of [Dred] Scott v. Sandford, Blacks were declared "...a subordinate and inferior class of beings..." Which has led to greater decimation against black people. In 1973 the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade declared "the word 'person,' as used in the [Constitution], does not include the unborn." This created a gateway for black genocide to take place, where now 78% of Planned Parenthood clinics are located in minority communities. Coincidence? I do not think so. Not only is Planned Parenthood in the business to make money, but it is also discriminating against black people.
In honor of Black History Month, I challenge you take the time to better educate yourself about the black genocide by watching Maafa 21, a documentary that shines light on the truths behind the history of abortion and contraception in the Unites States and its link to eugenics.
The Survivors challenge you to spread the word by creating awareness of black genocide: here is a free and great resource to handout at schools, churches, and to your friends.
With abortion being the number one cause of black deaths in the United States, I challenge you to reach out to those in need by sending a strong message to your peers that this is wrong, and you will not stand by while a race is dying off because of abortion!

Live Action Catches Another Planned Parenthood Clinic RedHandedly Covering Up Sex Abuse Again

& as you will see in the 2nd story from Live Action's Blog, they compound it with more lies that Live Action can easily refute. PP uses the same tactics, deny, deny deny. Then when it is proven that they are lying they attack the messanger to distract from the message that shows what they did was criminally & morally wrong. I applaud Live Action for again having the courage to get the truth about PP out there. The more Live Action uncovers the more it becomes apparent that coverups aren't the exception, they are the norm at PP.

Undercover Tape at WI Planned Parenthood Shows 10th Case of Child Sex Abuse Coverup

Contact: Lila Rose, media@liveaction.org, (323) 454-3304

MILWAUKEE, February 23--New undercover footage shows staff at a Milwaukee, WI Planned Parenthood abortion clinic counseling a purportedly 14-year-old statutory rape victim not to tell anyone about her 31-year-old boyfriend and coaching her how to obtain an abortion without her parents' consent. The new video, ninth in a series from Live Action documenting similar behavior in 5 other states, comes amid recent controversy about Planned Parenthood's compliance with state laws regarding minors and abortion.

In the video, after hearing the girl is 14 and her boyfriend is "much older," the counselor says whether or not the situation will be reported by clinic workers "depends on the person you're disclosing that information to." When the girl says that her boyfriend is 31, the counselor tells her, "You don't have to say anything" about the statutory rape and instructs her, "Just give them the information that's needed." The counselor also confirms that the 31-year-old "boyfriend" will be paying for the abortion.

In Wisconsin, sex between an adult and a minor under age 16 is a felony, and health care professionals are required to report such cases to law enforcement immediately. The law specifically includes abortion providers in this requirement.

Live Action, the youth-led pro-life nonprofit that produced the video, has previously released undercover footage in its "Mona Lisa Project" showing sexual abuse cover-up at Planned Parenthood clinics in California, Indiana, Arizona, Tennessee, and Alabama. The Alabama Department of Health put a Birmingham Planned Parenthood on probation two weeks ago after finding 9 legal violations during an investigation prompted by a Live Action video.

Twenty-one-year-old UCLA student Lila Rose, Live Action's president, says her organization's videos reveal a common trend of unethical counseling practices and disregard for the law at Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the U.S.: "In case after case, Planned Parenthood acts in contempt of its legal and professional obligations to report child rape. At a time when the Obama administration, through its new health care plan, is offering potentially billions of dollars to the abortion industry, state and federal lawmakers need to take notice of Planned Parenthood's lawlessness and make certain they receive no more taxpayer subsidies."

Live Action is also responsible for a recent video expose of biased counseling and medical misinformation at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. Wisconsin law requires that women be provided accurate medical information before undergoing an abortion.

"The evidence is now available for all to see that Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin ignores state laws that have been in place for years," Rose says. "Wisconsin law enforcement needs to follow the lead of other jurisdictions, investigate this corrupt organization, and enforce the laws that protect vulnerable women and their pre-born children."

Yesterday, we released the following undercover video showing Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin ignoring the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old minor by a 31-year-old partner:

Planned Parenthood responded by claiming that they would have reported the sexual abuse to police as required by law except that our undercover investigator didn’t give them her name.

One big problem, we DID give first name, last name, and date of birth and yet Planned Parenthood failed to do their legal duty. Watch the footage showing our undercover investigator giving Planned Parenthood this information:

This proves that Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin’s CEO Teri Huyck was making a false statement and that they failed to report sexual abuse as required by law.

These important questions must be answered:

  • How often does Planned Parenthood violate Wisconsin state law in this manner?
  • Will Planned Parenthood now apologize to the public for their breach of law and endangerment of young girls at the hands of sexual predators?
  • Will Planned Parenthood open an investigation into their own counseling practices?
  • Will the District Attorney open an investigation and prosecute this violation of law?
  • Will the Wisconsin Attorney General probe whether other cases of sexual abuse of minors are not being properly reported?

Wouldn't It Be Loverly!!!!! - With Prayer It Could Happen

From today's reflection of the Mass readings in One Bread, One Body:

MASS REPENTANCE

"Now Nineveh was an enormously large city." —Jonah 3:3

Picture the president of the United States dressed not in a fine suit but covered with sackcloth, and sitting not at a conference table but in a pile of ashes (Jon 3:6). Imagine the members of the Congress and Senate dressed also in sackcloth and sitting in ashes. Picture the whole country — both man and beast — covered with sackcloth and sitting in ashes (Jon 3:8). Imagine no one eating or drinking anything, and the animals complaining accordingly (Jon 3:7-8). What a scene! What noise! What repentance! What grace and mercy!* (emphais mine)
The repentance of 120,000 people came about through the prophetic message of the reluctant, vindictive prophet, Jonah. This mass repentance by the Ninevites shows that the Lord can do anything. He can change the hardest hearts — even hundreds of thousands of the hardest hearts — and do it in one day through a person who doesn't even want people to repent and be saved.
Even if we've never seen mass repentance and can think of a thousand obstacles to God's grace, the Lord can surprise us, especially in the worst of circumstances. Expect the Lord to do the impossible this Lent. Expect the world to be surprisingly transformed this Lent. His grace is sufficient (2 Cor 12:9).

Prayer: Father, do internationally and locally what I've never dreamed possible.
Promise: "Have mercy on me, O God, in Your goodness; in the greatness of Your compassion wipe out my offense. Thoroughly wash me from my guilt and of my sin cleanse me." —Ps 51:3-4
Praise: Maria follows the promptings of the Holy Spirit and prays for the conversion of China.

* When I 1st read this the image of Obama, Pelosi & Reid in sackcloth & ashes leapt to mind. I just pray the ashes are those of repentance, not the destruction of our nation.

What Would St. Gianna Beretta Molla Suggest She Do?

I think we know the answer to that. She would tell "Amalia" to do the same thing she did. This shows us that St. Gianna is definitely a saint for today. & the answer to counter what the pro-aborts say is the only option. I know the pro-aborts would dismiss St. Gianna since her actions were selfless & their agenda is based on selfishness. But that just shows how empty & morally bankrupt the abortion gang are.
The fact that the abortion lobby would also resort to lies about how "Amalia" would be treated for the cancer is another proof. Chemo is not the same as radiation & they know it. But since when has the abortion industry let the truth get in the way of their agenda??
(Note: Nicaragua's law is in line with Catholic ethics.)

MANAGUA, February 22, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The international abortion lobby is seeking to use the tragic the case of a pregnant woman with cancer in Nicaragua, in order to promote the legalization of the procedure in the strongly pro-life country.
According to local pro-abortion activists, a 27-year old woman, whom they will only identify by the pseudonym "Amalia," is in need of an abortion so that she can receive chemotherapy for an unspecified type of cancer, which has spread throughout her body.
However, doctors supporting the cause have been quoted in the major media as saying that the abortion is "necessary" simply because the chemotherapy would be harmful to the unborn child, not because the pregnancy would interfere with treatment.
Dr. Oscar Flores Vigil, President of the pro-abortion Nicaraguan Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics, told the El Nuevo Diario newspaper that, "to treat the cancer, the only thing that can save her life is chemotherapy, but this means that a therapeutic abortion would be necessary, since the baby can't endure the radiation."
"The baby in development could survive, but he would certainly be affected by severe damage in his physical constitution," he added.
Flores Vigil did not explain how "chemotherapy" would involve "radiation," nor why an abortion, which would utterly destroy the child, would be necessary merely to prevent "damage" to the same child.
The president of the Nicaraguan Medical Association, Dr. Ivette Pilarte, has issued a firm rebuttal to those who claim that an abortion is "medically necessary" in the "Amelia" case.
"The Nicaraguan Medical Association, faced with the media situation with has occurred in the 'Amelia' case, finds no justification to submit her to a directly provoked abortion," wrote Pilarte in an official communication on Saturday.
"Abortion is not going to cure her of her cancer nor of the metastasis, for which it is necessary to give her adequate therapy, curative or palliative," she added.
International Pro-abortion Groups Jump on Bandwagon
The government of Nicaragua has repeatedly clarified that the country's prohibition of abortion does not ban lifesaving medical procedures that could indirectly and unintentionally cause an abortion. Therefore, chemotherapy and other lifesaving treatments would not be denied to "Amalia" under the nation's laws. Nevertheless, international pro-abortion groups are seeking to use the case in its campaign to overturn the country's pro-life legislation.
Abortion proponents in Nicaragua say that twenty "national and international" groups have filed a complaint with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (ICHR). According to the abortionist website "RH Reality Check," those groups include the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL) and Ipas, based in the United States.
One of the Ipas leaders involved in the case, Martha Maria Blandon, was involved in the infamous "Rosita" case used in recent years by abortionist groups to promote the liberalization of Nicaragua's abortion laws.
Blandon and other feminists in the "Network of Women Against Violence" helped the stepfather of "Rosita," a nine year old girl who had been impregnated by rape, to secure a clandestine abortion for his stepdaughter in 2003. Rosita's stepfather and mother were transformed into international spokesmen for the pro-abortion cause, until the Nicaraguan media revealed in 2007 that Rosita's rapist was the stepfather himself, who had impregnated Rosita a second time.
Despite Blandon's involvement in the now-infamous case, the Nicaraguan media seem to be accepting her claims about "Amalia" at face value, now as coordinator of the Strategic Group for the Depenalization of Abortion.
Along with more than twenty other abortionist organizations, including the "Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights" (CENIDH), Blandon is now selling the "Amalia" story to all who will listen, and is conducting a letter writing campaign to major figures in the Nicaraguan government. Blandon says her coalition will appeal the case to the nation's Supreme Court.
Government Investigates Case
In response to the complaints, Nicaraguan Health Minister Guillermo Gonzalez has established a special medical commission to conduct a review of the case. A decision is expected shortly.
According to the Spanish press agency EFE, Gonzalez has noted that "sadly, it seems that there are political interests behind this," apparently referring to the machinations of pro-abortion organizations, which are constantly agitating against the government's prohibition of direct abortions.
Presumably, the medical commission will also resolve accusations made by pro-abortion groups that "Amalia" has not received treatment for her cancer for over two weeks, due to concern that the treatment will harm her unborn child.
Ricardo Cuadra, Director of the Oscar Danilo School Hospita, has stated that the doctors are following the government's guidelines and awaiting a decision by the recently-created medical commission before proceeding.
"The specialists are the ones who have to decide the course of therapy for her (Amalia), always considering the good of the mother and the child, and I repeat, we are going to comply to what is established for these cases by the Ministry of Health," said Cuadra.

A Look at Abortion & the Rest of Her Siblings In the Culture of Death

Abortion Doesn’t Exist in a Vacuum
by Kristen Walker
America has become a culture of contraception. It is a culture where the act of sexual intercourse has been divorced from its natural purpose — procreation — and used instead as a form of recreation or, in some cases, degradation and even violence.
When the natural law (never mind the moral law) is violated, bad things result. Look at venereal disease, for example. Twenty-five percent of sexually active adults have genital herpes. Some don’t even know it. A similar percentage have HPV, which is incurable and can lead to genital warts or cervical cancer. Many more have, or have been treated for, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and even HIV/AIDS.
Sex was designed to make new people. That is why it is very difficult for two fertile people to have sex regularly without making a baby. People must go to great lengths to avoid pregnancy.
The pill, the patch, IUDs, and Depo-Provera shots: every single one of these methods is extremely harmful to women. They all release synthetic hormones into a woman’s body that trick it into thinking it is pregnant. They can also cause very early abortions and even long-term or permanent infertility.
Nothing besides abortion has been more detrimental to women and, by extension, to society, than artificial birth control. What makes it doubly insidious is that it has been packaged and sold to women as an empowering tool in their liberation, a way for us to enjoy “reproductive freedom.” So what does this actually lead to, besides the risk of breast cancer, heart attack, blood clots, and stroke? It leads to the type of relationship where a woman becomes involved with a man and, if she happens to get pregnant despite being on birth control, he feels he has the right to say, “Well, look, I’m a modern, liberated guy. Whatever you decide is your choice. But I’m not ready to be a father, and I don’t want to pay child support. So… here’s a few hundred bucks. See ya!”
This scenario is ridiculously common. And all those who argue that condoms aren’t so bad because they don’t directly cause abortion or adversely affect women’s health should understand that when condoms fail, it leads to exactly the same scenario as the one above: a culture in which a child is viewed as a “mistake.” This leads to abortion again and again and again.
I remember a commercial from a few years back that made my stomach turn. In it, a bunch of women are sitting in a bar, surrounded by a bunch of pigs who are also drinking and hanging out, oinking and snorting at the women, all of whom are leggy and modelesque and seem very annoyed. Finally, one of the pigs gets up, goes into the bathroom, and buys a Trojan condom out of a dispenser. As soon as the condom drops into his hand, he becomes a tall, dark, handsome man. He walks back into the bar and sits down across from a woman, who smiles at him. He smiles back. You can tell from their smiles that they are going back to his mud hole or her apartment for the night. The screen goes black, and one word appears: “evolve.”
The idea that having casual sex with someone you meet in a bar is only “piggish” if you don’t use a condom is a terribly common belief in our society. High school girls are put on birth control by their mothers. College-age guys are given condoms by their dads. This tells kids that anything goes as long as they are “careful.” And this perpetuates the myth that sex is nothing more than something fun to do, that as long as you “use protection” this behavior is not only acceptable, but “evolved.”
Whatever your religious beliefs or lack thereof, the fact remains that sex was either created, designed, or evolved for the express purpose of procreation. When we remove the purpose, we pervert the act, and we create a culture in which the miracle of life is seen as an inconvenience… one for which abortion is an “easy fix.”
It’s not a very politically correct idea in this age when the only sin people recognize is “intolerance,” but as long as people fail to follow the basic tenets of sexual morality, there is going to be a demand for abortion.
