Eugenics, Then & Now

1st of all, I found it interesting that this story refered to eugenics as a pseudo-science. I say that because is is still refered to as an applied science. The basic philosophy behind it is still arround today. Only it goes under different guises. 1  of those is Planned Parenthood. We need to remember that what happenned to this woman is exactly what Margaret Sanger was pushing back when she founded Planned Parenthood's forerunner. & it is what the organization is still pushing today.

Another guise that is closely related is found in those doctors who push abortions for women who have prenatal testing that shows the child may have Down syndrome or other genetic problems. The solution is to kill the unborn baby. (NOTE: This is totally different from working to prevent birth defects by moral means. There are things that can be done in research that have nothing to do with any form of eugenics. & some things, like not drinking during pregnancy, are just common sense things.)

Eugenics was seen for what it really is under Hitler. Now it is trying to rehabilitate its image. What happenned to this woman & countless other men & women should serve to remind us that no matter the guise, it is still a part of the "culture of death".
