Next week is the 34th Anniversary of what I consider the greatest infamnia in the USA since slavery, the US Supreme Court rulings of Roe v Wade & Doe v Bolton that legalized abortion with no restrictions accross the USA. There are several events over the next few days for people to come together to mourn for all those victims of abortion, to pray for a change in our laws & to make a statement to our elected officials & the world that this evil cannot stand. Some of the major events will take place in Washington DC.

There are also many other local events sponsored by various Right to Life groups the next few days. Here in DBQ
Dubuque County Right to Life is sponsored a Walk for Life starting at 10:30 am in Washington Park. There will be pray & speakers. After that there will be a march to the DBQ County Courthouse & then onto the KC Hall for a Chili luncheon sponsored by the Loras College Right to Life group to raise funds for them to go to the DC March for Life.
Monday has also been declared a National Day of Prayer and Penance for Life by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. So even if you can't make any of the above events (or find any near you) you can still take part by setting aside part of the day for prayer & doing some sort of an act of penance as a means of repenting for the sin of abortion in the USA.
