Don't we Already Have Enough Commedians in the US Congress?

According to a report on NewsMax: Comedian Al Franken has reached out to Democratic lawmakers from Minnesota in recent days, seeking advice on a possible Senate run against Republican Sen. Norm Coleman next year."
Al the Al Franken Decade was the 1980s & we know how well that went over.
Franklin is aware of some of the pitfalls: "'It's unknown how people will respond to a comedian running for the Senate. I need to figure out a way to let people know I'm extremely serious about Minnesotans and their lives.'" Being on SNL & playing Stuart Smiley doesn't disqualify him, here in Iowa we elected Fred Grandy, Gopher on the Love Boat, to the US Congress & he turned out to be a really good congressman.
He does have a Political Action Committee so he is probably going to run. It is called Midwest Values PAC!. The only problem, I'm from the Midwest, & the values I grew up with in Oelwein, IA (See also Positively Oelwein & Oelwein Chamber of Commerce) are definitely not his values, even back then when I was a Democrat. (Or as I like to say, I haven't changed, the Democratic Party did. It left me forcing me to leave it.) It is his values that are scary. & people need to know how out of touch with true Midwestern values he is.
After asking Al Franken if he was running for the US Senate, Dave Letterman asked him if he was delusional. He said no. No surprize. Those who are rarely recognize it.
(Caution, toward the end of the video there are a couple words bleeped.)
I will make 1 prediction, with Al Franken running for US Senate & Hillary Clinton running for President Peter Schweizer's book Do As I Say (Not As I Do) Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy ought to really do well in sales. Lets' hope that their opponants read it & challenge them on their stands. Maybe Stuart Smalley can moderate the debates? The upcoming election cycle will definitely not be boring.
