Fantasy of the day - 5 Aug 2006

Madonna is in the middle of her concert Domenica (Sun) in Roma. She is coming down on her mirrored diamente covered cross wearing her crown of thorns & singing. Suddenly the power goes out. A deep male voice comes out of the heavens.
"BASTA!!!", it says. (Italiano for enough, I've had enough, that's enough, usually said in an angry or disgusted tone, esp by parents when a child has gotten out of line.)
"You call yourself Madonna, but you are not like My Mother. Nor are you like Esther the other name you have chosen to go by. They were women of prayer & modesty. They were women who loved Me & honored MY Father by obedience to My Word, My teachings. They were women of deep & sincere faith. YOU ARE NOT!!!!!. You are like Nebuchadnezzar. You have become filled with pride & arrogance. & like Nebuchadnezzar you will be humbled.
For 7 yrs you will not be able to sing. Your voice will be taken from you until you learn that I am the Lord, that I am not to be mocked. You will be silent until you humble yourself & repent of your multitude of sins, until you return to Me."
The lights come back on. But the concert is over as Madonna's voice is gone. She can not make a sound & has to leave the stage. The doctors can find no medical cause.
OK, I know God doesn't often work this way. But wouldn't it be interesting to see the reaction of the world if it did. I'm sure a lot of Italiani would suddenly rediscover their faith & return to the Catholic Church. There would be a surge of people returning to the sacraments, esp Confession & the Eucharist.
A fantasy? definitely. Will it happen? slighty possible, even less probable, but not impossible. But as I said, wouldn't it be interesting to see what would happen if it did?
(For the background on this see the OT book of Esther, Daniel 4 & the Gospels of Matthew & Luke.)
