Catholics, Muslims & Jews find common ground

Sad to say, Madonna Ciccone has enabled Catholics, Muslims & Jews to find something they can agree to, her blasphemous mock crucifixion that she is doing at an appearance next Sun in Roma Italia. Her appearance will be at Olympic Stadium, less than 2 miles from the gates of the Vatican. She will come down on a mirrored cross wearing a crown of thorns.
“To crucify yourself in the city of the pope and the martyrs is an act of open hostility. It’s a scandal created on purpose by astute merchants to attract publicity.” Cardinal Ersilio Tonini was quoted as saying in an article in La Stampa.
"It is disrespectful, in bad taste and provocative," Father Manfredo Leone from Rome's Santa Maria Liberatrice church said. "Being raised on a cross with a crown of thorns like a modern Christ is absurd. Doing it in the cradle of Christianity comes close to blasphemy."
"I think her idea is in the worst taste and she'd do better to go home," This according to Mario Scialoja, president of the Muslim World League in Italy. “It’s not the first time Madonna stages such an act. We deplore it, we feel it is an act of bad taste."
& Riccardo Pacifici, spokesman for Rome’s Jewish community had the following to say: “We express solidarity with the Catholic world. It’s a disrespectful act, and to do it in Rome is even worse.”
A few years ago Madonna got involved with Kaballah, an mystic, New Age offshoot of Judiasm. She changed her name to Esther & has tried to pass herself off as a good Jewish girl. Apparently not, seeing the Jewish community's reaction to her latest stunt.
Sadly, Madonna thinks that she needs to do things like this because they are expected of her. Why? The woman has plenty of talent & could put on a decent show without offending a person's faith. I have enjoyed her music, but have been very uncomfortable with some of her actions. I pray that Madonna will wake up, return to her Catholic faith & turn her talent to serving God rather than Satan. In the meantime, I suspect Madonna will be silent about Mel Gibson. Hopefully she will be smart enough to realize that she lives in a glass house when it comes to respecting other people's faith & that any stones she tries to throw at Mel will only come back to hurt her.
