Sor Rondane Mountains in Antarctica
That is if the latest discovery from Antarctica is to be believed.
According to the article "
a “near-tropical” rainforest that once covered the icy continent, AFP
reports. Analysts estimate that the lush forest thrived throughout the
Eocene period, some 34-56 million years ago." That means that Antarctica’s summer temperatures once reached nearly 70 degrees
Fahrenheit. Which also meant that the oceans' water level was much higher. & that things were much hotter elsewhere in the world, including North America.
The reason, according to Kevin Welsh, an Australian paleoclimatologist,is that higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere facilitated the
warmer conditions. Higher levels? That means that CO2 leveles could be higher naturally & that we may just be returning to the way things were before.
of course those involved in pushing the radical environmentalist global warming, or change or whatever today's term is, agenda are up in arms & of course trying to say that the current trend is simply because of what man is doing. They blame man entirely for the fact that "CO2 levels are rising rapidly and are showing few signs of slowing
down."
But if the higher CO2 levels occurred in the past, & the world has gone through huge ice ages as well as times of warming that produced times like this, then there is nothing we can do to stop it.
This doesn't mean I am advocating wild abandon & doing all we can to produce CO2 & other pollutants. We must be, as Genesis states, good stewards of this world, developing it & caring for it.
What this does mean is that once again we have some evidence that the claims made by environmentalists that everything wrong with the world's weather is man's fault is wrong. Unless by man's fault you are refering to his sinful behavior in allowing the "culture of death" to set the rules & following their immoral dictates, then maybe man is at fault. & like Sodom & Gomorrah or Israel & Judah when they worshipped false iddols (nature gods), we are merely reaping the fruits of our actions & repentance, not reducing CO2 is the solution.
