Linda Gibbons - The Battle to Save Lives Goes On

Linda Gibbons one of Canada's great Pro-life heroes is once again in the news*. She has once again been arrested for doing what she knows is the right thing, speaking out in front of Toronto's abortion clinics despite a "temporary" injunction issued in 1994 banning her from doing so.

As I have reported before, she has been arrested several times over the years & was just released from her latest 2 year stint at the end of June. At that time she made it clear that she would soon make another challenge to that injunction.

Thursday (5 August 2011) she arrived outside the Morgentaler abortion mill on Hillsdale Ave in Toronto shortly before 9am. She was arrested just after 11am. As is her normal practice (picture below) Gibbons paced back & forth silently in front of the mill carrying a sign with a live baby’s photo reading: “Why Mom When I have so much Love to Give”. She attempted to speak to several women entering the centre to offer them aid to carry their pregnancies to term.

Six police officers took part in the arrest, including the sheriff & his deputy who had ordered the arrest after Gibbons did not respond to their requests to obey the injunction & leave the area. Gibbons was read the injunction & then led to the squad car peacefully.

As I said, she has been battling this injunction since 1994. As a result, the 69-year-old grandmother has sacrificed being with her family for birthdays & holidays. She has no regrets about the price she has paid in doing what she feels (& I agree) is the right thing in battling this unjust injunction. She is willing to make the sacrifice in order to do what she can to save unborn children from being murdered by abortion. In fact, it is her Christian faith that compels her to do what she is doing. She is answering the call from God to lay down her life for the least of her brothers & sisters, the unborn.

How long she will be in jail for this time is hard to say. When she was released in June a 16 January 2012 court date was set to deal with her last arrest.
*I should say Pro-life news sources as, from what I have been told, the Canadian Main Stream Media is totally ignoring her plight. That shouldn't be surprizing as most of the media up there is just as pro-abort as the US MSM. So to them they are glad she is in jail & don't want to draw attention for fear of her getting sympathy. They know that that could result in an outcry that would make her a hero & their pro-abort cohorts in the justice system look bad for the way they are persecuting her.
