Planned Parenthood's Latest Statistics, More Abortions Even Fewer Adoptions

Planned Parenthood likes to claim that it fairly promotes all options for a woman including adoption & attacks Crisis Pregnancy Centers because they don't promote abortion. However Planned Parenthood's own stats show how reality varies from their claims.

In fact the stats show that Planned Parenthood is clearly & agressively promoting abortion & the few adoption referrals they do are probably only because teh woman insisted despite all they tried to do to get the woman to have an abortion.

In fact from the 2008 to the 2009 annual report the number of abortions done by PP went up while the number of adoption referrals went down. In the 2008 report PP said they did 324,008 abortions & made 2405 adoption referrals. That comes to 1 adoption referral for each 134 abortions. Now for the 2009 stats:

As you can see PP did 8270 more abortions in 2009 than it did in 2008. but they made 1428 less adoption referrals. That means for each adoption referral they did 333 abortions. Another way to put it is that 3 tenths of 1% (0.3%) of the women who go to PP pregnant chose adoption over abortion.

These numbers explain exactly why PP is so opposed to any law that requires ultrasounds as well as CPCs. They cut into their profits they make from abortions. Abortion is the heart & soul of their business. The money they make from abortion constitutes approximately 37 percent of Planned Parenthood’s revenues. & when the numbers are unskewed as much as possible it turns out that 98 percent of services to pregnant woman are abortions.

& remember folks, it is our tax money that enables PP to make these huge profits from abortion by providing the pipeline into their clutches as well as underwriting basic expenses like rent & utilities that cover all services. It also enables them to continue to cover up rape & incest as well as I have so often pointed out.

So the next time someone tries to point out how wonderful PP is, share a few of their own facts about what they really do behind closed doors.
