Normally, I'd Say Turn the Other Cheek

World Net Daily is reporting that lawsuit seeking in excess of $50 million has been prepared against MSNBC & its talk-show entertainer Rachel Maddow over statements she made about a Minnesota-based ministry. The suit is being filed by YouCanRunButYouCannotHideInternational ministry run by former rock artist Bradlee Dean. The suit is in response to the way that he says Maddow misrepresented a statement of his on homosexuals.

According to the story he once made a statement on the radio criticizing his fellow Christians for not taking a stronger stand about the "gay" rights lobby promoting homosexuality in schools. According to the ministry announcement, he made a strong reference to Muslims taking the issue more seriously than Christians, referring to Islamic law, but did not condone their practices. It was Bradlee's intent to focus attention on the issue, not to advocate harm to anyone, the statement went on to say.

The announcement went on to say that despite the clear statement by Dean on his ministry's website & elsewhere that he was not calling for the execution of homosexuals. It went on to say "MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and others seized on and accused Dean on her show of supporting the killing of homosexuals, as is the practice in some radical Islamic countries. This seriously has harmed Dean and the ministry, who pride themselves on respect and love for all people."

Given the way I have seen the media twist anything that goes against their agenda, I would not be surprized to find out Maddow did misrepresent, if not outright lie about what he actually said. & when what they say is agenda driven to clearly harm the opposition then the person harmed does have the right to stand up & defend him or herself. In this case, I see Dean & his ministry following in the example of St. Paul in defending himself against false accusations as we saw in Acts. I hope he wins so that the MSM will get the message they can't lie & still claim to be unbiased.
