Planned Parenthood Wants You to Give Death This Christmas, Give Life Instead

This has been pointed out many a time, but we all need to be reminded. Unlike PP, pro-life orginizations can't go to Uncle Sam, state legislatures & (usually) local governing bodies to get a handout. They are dependant on donations to keep them going. I have a list of them in my right hand column, there are also many local groups that provide crisis pregnancy services or do Pro-Life work that are in your area. They all can use your support. Give a gift to one or more of them & help provide life to honor the Author of Life as we celebrate his birth.
What inspired me to wite this? I got an e-mail Saturday from Eric Scheidler, Communications Director for the Pro-Life Action League. in it he talked about PP's gift certificates & suggested a donation to 1 of those Pro-Life Pregnancy orginizations, Option Line. (League Encourages "Gifts of Life" in Response to PP "Death Certificates") Option Line provides an 800 number where you can reach consultants who will refer each caller to a pregnancy resource center in her area for answers to questions about abortion, pregnancy tests, STD's, adoption, parenting, medical referrals, housing, and many other issues. The toll-free number is available to callers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Option Line is a call center located in Columbus, Ohio, formed as a joint venture between Care Net and Heartbeat International.
What set Eric Scheidler off was the news that PP of Illinois plans to sell similar gift certificates starting Monday (* December 2008). I am not sure if that date is by chance or it is intentional. The 8th is the day that the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of the Immaculate Conception* of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Yup, the day we celebrate the fact that the Theotokis was conceived, the woman who would be the mother of our Savior came into existance, is the day that PPIL is following their cohorts in Indiana to give the gift of death. Even if it was unintentional (& given the fact that satan is ultimately behind all the "culture is death" does, I suspect it wasn't) this is still a blasphemous insult to Christ & a slap in the face of Christians everywhere.
Infamia!
Here is what they had to say on the PPIL website (CAUTION: THIS WILL CAUSE DISGUST 7 TURN YOUR STOMACH AS IT DID MINE):
Planned Parenthood Gift Certificates Give the Best Gift of All- a Healthy, Happy New Year!
What could be more important than your health this holiday season? For many people it's becoming harder and harder to afford staying healthy.
When we are trying to make decisions between what we want versus what we need- why not give both? By giving a Planned Parenthood Gift Certifcate you are giving a gift of health- something everyone needs. The recipient can choose from a variety of services. They can put it towards their yearly gynecological visit which includes a breast exam to check for breast cancer and a pap test to screen for cervical cancer. The recipient could use it towards their next supply of their birth control method, so maybe purchasing two packs of pills instead of one.
So think about giving a gift of health this year. And if by chance you have already bought and wrapped that beautiful silver necklace or designer watch- there's always New Year's Eve to think about...
Gift certificates can be purchased in denominations of $10, $25 and $50 at any Planned Parenthood of Illinois Health Center beginning Monday December 8th, 2008.
PP is getting bolder because of November's election results. They think we will be disheartened, roll over & give up. We can't. We must pray & work even harder to battle the "culture of death" & to continue to build the "Culture of Life". & supporting pro-life groups with our time, talent & finances is 1 way we can do that.
