Rebecca Kiessling v Gloria Allred on Piers Morgan

Whether you approve or disapprove of what Todd Akin said about rape it has brought the discussion about rape & abortion to the forefront.

Recently, Rebecca Kiessling, who was conceived as a result of rape, appeared on Piers Morgan's show on CNN to talk about whether rape is a justification for abortion. Also appearing was Gloria Allred, who had an illegal abortion after being raped. Rebecca Kiessling did her best, but it is clear the whole thing was slanted against her from start to finish. Allred is her typical self, ignoring facts, making outrageously false statements & is abetted by Morgan. You will see that Allred takes it beyond rape to defend abortion for any reason.

 

Among the statements made by Allred is the comment on deaths as a result of illegal abortions. That is based on numbers cooked up by Bernard Nathanson created for NARAL in the late 60s that he admitted were false after he became Pro-life.

Yes, Allred did have a botched abortion, but she ignores how that still regularly happens. See here for a story on 1 of the latests examples. As for how she puts her experience, she says  she underwent  abortion at a time when the operation could not legally be performed by a doctor. What she doesn't say is if she went to a doctor for it. Since most "back alley" abortions like hers were done in doctors' offices with the women coming in through the back alley door, it is likely that it was a doctor that botched it. Something those pushing the emphasis on safe totally ignore.

Notice also how Allred misrepresents the defense of the unborn child as giving him/her greater rights than the mother. No, not greater, just equal.

Also, a friend of mine pointed out how Allred claimed she would have killed herself if she hadn't had the abortion. Given how strong she is, & claims to always have been, that statment is questionable.

Those are just a few examples.

But, none of those facts presented by Allred were questioned. Yet, when Kiessling tried to present accurate facts, Allred dismissed them, calling them mind-numbing. This from 1 of the smartest lawyers in America???? They are only mindnumbing to those who don't want the truth because then they force those like Allred to face it.
