Note: The 1994 "temporary" injunction requires Pro-life protestors to stand 170 meters (557 feet and 8.91 inches) away from the clinic.
The fact that this injunction is still being enforced, that it takes 20 minutes to read, let alone the ridiculous distance it requires Pro-lifers to stand tells me that this isn't about protecting people going into the abortion clinic. It is about silencing the right of the protestors to speak out about the murder of unborn babies.
The Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms does guarantee "freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication". But in section 1 it also says that "the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society." Neither 170 meters nor 17 years for a "temporary" injunction strkes me as a reasonable limit or justifiable in any way shape or form.
