Today is the feast of St. Dominic:
When I was a kid, I remember how big a hit a song about him in French by a Dominican Nun was. Soeur Sourire (actually Sr. Luc Gabriel) was a nun @ the Dominican Fichermont Convent in Belgium. It was so big that she appeared on Ed Sullivan & a movie very very loosely based on her life was made starring Debbie Reynolds. Sadly she ended up leaving convent & the Catholic Church. She ended up committing suicide. But the song captures the life of St. Dominic very well. (Lyrics & English translation here.)
