Vigil for Victims - 14 February 2011
The weather was perfect, sunny & mild. (I wish I had worn my pro-life hoodie instead of the coat.) We spent the hour praying, including the Rosary & the Divine Mercy Chaplet. & while it was without incident for the most part, at 1 point a person who didn't like us being there threw some potato chips at 1 of the protestors.
Central Avenue (aka IA Hiway 3/US 52) is 1 of the main roads through town so it has a lot of traffic. That meant quite a few people got to see our message. For the most part, the response of those driving by was positive. I was not exactly sure of the gesture of 1 person. But the look on her face makes me think she wasn't supporting us.
& while getting the message out this way Monday was important, the real battles lie ahead. Until Congress & our state legislatures defend PP, we will be enabling them to continue to do tthe evil acts they do.
