You Know a Person By the Friends He Keeps
President Obama's legacy may be largely decided--not by what he does, but who he appoints. For the last ten months, we've watched the White House assemble a team of extremists in almost every pocket of the administration. The latest addition may be Chai Feldblum, the President's nominee for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Feldblum, a lesbian, comes with an impressive resume of radicalism--complete with tours at the Human Rights Campaign, the ACLU, and a clerkship with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmum, who authored the Roe v. Wade decision. She even authored the far-reaching Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which is more than a little ironic since the EEOC would be the agency to enforce ENDA.
A few things may muddy her chances at the job, including her support for multi-spouse households. Susan Brinkman writes, "Ms. Feldblum has also been widely criticized for signing onto a radical online petition, the 'Beyond Same-Sex Marriage: A New Strategic Vision for All Our Families and Relationships,' which advocates for polygamy and government recognition... for... diverse kinds of partnerships." FRC had the opportunity to hear from Feldblum when she joined our lecture on same-sex 'marriage' at our downtown D.C. headquarters. To hear firsthand how she hopes to wipe out religious freedom with "gay rights," click over to our website and listen to her remarks on FRC's panel.
