Compare these 2 headlines about a recent USAToday/Gallup Poll. The 1st is taken from Gallup's own website.
The 2nd is taken from Fox News:
The 2 executive orders where closing the prison at Guantanamo & the overturning of the Mexico Policy. Fox News is supposed to be conservative. But it strikes me that their headline is a lot more balanced than that of the so-called neutral pollsters.
US News is 1 of the few to lay it on the line as to how far out of the mainstream Obama is when it comes to funding abortion. Notice their headline:
In fact I think the article author Dan Gilgoff got it right about how much harm Obama's actions will have. "But these results suggest that when it comes to the White House and abortion, even an in-the-weeds policy change like icing the Mexico City Policy can have political implications way beyond the conservative antiabortion movement." (I just wish he would have used Pro-Life, but you can't always have everything.)
FYI: Only 35% of those polled approved of his allowing funding of overseas abortions while 58% disapproved of his action & only 7% said no opinion. GEE! This sure doesn't sound like the all out support for abortion that Planned Parenthood claims to exist, let alone that Obama's election was about abortion. It was the bad economy, not abortion. & too many people voted with their pocketbooks at the expense of their souls.
When the demographics are broken down to Democrat, Republican & Independent, the only group to approve of his overturning the Mexico City Policy was the Democrats with 59% approving. That means even 41% of the Dems disagreed, not exactly wholehearted support. Only 33% of the Independents approved & 8% of the Republicans polled.
