Italia's Constitution & Eluana

Sometimes it is better to go to the source than totally rely on news operations for how a foreign Constitution operates, even when it is a reliable one like LifeSite News or Life News. With all the reports on what the Italian Constitution does or doesn't allow I decided to go to the source (actually an English translation) & see what it says.

While under normal circumstances it would take a month to get a law promulgated after it passed the Italiano Constitution does allow for quicker promulgation:

Article 73 [Promulgation]

(1) Laws are promulgated by the president within a month after having been adopted.

(2) If each chamber declares a bill urgent with a majority of its members, it has to be promulgated within the time set in the bill.

& while article 74 does allow the President to send it back for reconsideration (the equivalent of a veto) there would still be time to save her. Also a coui[ple of other Articles (76-77) may come into play.

So there is still hope.

Given how clear Italiano law is, I don't see how the courts could have ruled to allow Eluana's murder. & from what I read it is very difficult to remove them also.

We need to keep praying.
