Italiano Left Using Eluana's Murder to Push Euthanasia Agenda

Wasting no time, the pro-death forces in Italia are using Eluana Englaro's murder as a wedge to create "living wills". What they don't say is that the law is really a backhanded way to legalize euthanasia.
Results of the autopsy to find out why Eluana died so suddenly have yet to be released. Eluana was buried in a Catholic ceremony in her native village of Lecco. (Given that there was no direct evidence she wanted to be starved to death, the Catholic Church did the right thing.)
On Tuesday (10 Feb) Silvio Berlusconi, Italy's Prime Minister said: "Eluana did not die a natural death; she was killed. Napolitano made a serious mistake." He went on to secribe Eluana as "the only citizen to be condemned to death."
Even a part of the press has come down hard on Napolitano. Il Giornale, published an editorial titled, "Congratulations Napolitano". In it they blasted the president, a former leader of the Italian Communist party, and his supporters on the left for helping those who wanted to kill Eluana. It noted that calls have started for his resignation. It said that President Napolitano and those who blocked the passage of the decree law that could have saved her life, "preferred the culture of death to the value of life".
Maurizio Gasparri, a Member of the Italian Parliament for the Alleanza Nazionale party, said, "We need to understand what happened in La Quieta clinic, which we may fairly call the 'Death clinic.' This is a moment of pity and tragedy, but it was clearly euthanasia."
Dr. Gianluigi Gigli, a neurologist at Udine University and head of the group For Eluana admited being "perplexed" by what happened. "Something very strange has happened."
Meanwhile, the battle lines are being drawn. Under current law, what happenned to Eluana should never have happened as Italian law doesn't consider food & water medical treatment. What happened to her was EUTHENASIA. One 1 side we have the forces for the "Culture of Life".
Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi said: "Even in Eluana's name, therefore, we will continue to search for the most effective ways to serve life. We hope that her case, in the wake of so much discussion, becomes a motive for us all to responsibly search for better ways to care for the weakest people in society, with full respect for the right to life."
It is interesting to see who is pushing for the "living will" law. Basically it is a "who's who" of the "culture of death".
Mina Welby, a euthanasia campaigner, said that the living wills legislation wass necessary to avoid a repeat of the Eluana Englaro situation. She is a spokesman for the far-left Luca Coscioni Association. They are a group that campaigns for euthanasia and embryonic stem cell research. They announced an all-out campaign for the living wills law, starting with a Resolution to be presented to the Rome municipal government. Given their views you know that if they are for it, it has to help promote their agenda of death.
Mario Staderini, of the extreme left Italian Radical Party said: "If approved, this resolution will have immediate effect, allowing citizens to make their choices regarding health treatment public." That statement alone raises alarms in my mind. Health treatment is the term that on the surface sounds good. But it has been perverted by the "culture of death" as a cover for their agenda to promote abortion & the rest of their deadly agenda.
Then there was an article published in the left-leaning La Repubblica daily supporting the euthanasia push that was written by Italian novelist Umberto Eco.
During the whole crisis with Eluana, President Giorgio Napolitano, a former leader of Italy's now-defunct Communist party, was calling for the passage of a living wills law.
Sadly, the debate of a law that would have prevented what happened to Eluana from happening & that it wouldn't happen to others is being quietly dropped.
