Meet Margaret Sanger's British Doppelgänger, Marie Stopes

Recently, in some of its newsletters, etc, Human Life International has been talking about an international counterpart to Planned Parenthood & the organization's efforts to spread the "culture of death" that are every bit as diabolical as PP's. This group is Marie Stopes International & it traces its roots to its namesake.

So, I decided to look up who the group's namesake was & what she believed in. In the back of my mind I had a pretty good idea what I would find. Sadly, she lived down to my expectations.

According to her Wikipedia entry Marie Carmichael Stopes, Sc.D., Ph.D. "was a Scottish author, eugenicist, campaigner for women's rights and pioneer in the field of family planning. Stopes edited the journal Birth Control News which gave anatomically explicit advice."

Let's compare that to the entry for Margaret Sanger. It says she "was an American birth control activist, an advocate of negative eugenics, and the founder of the American Birth Control League (which eventually became Planned Parenthood).. . . .In 1914, Sanger launched The Woman Rebel, an eight page monthly newsletter promoting contraception." Margaret Sanger also wrote several books.

Not enough, then let's focus in on their racist views.

Sanger: "A stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is already tainted or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.[17] "

"It is a vicious cycle; ignorance breeds poverty and poverty breeds ignorance. There is only one cure for both, and that is to stop breeding these things. Stop bringing to birth children whose inheritance cannot be one of health or intelligence. Stop bringing into the world children whose parents cannot provide for them. Herein lies the key of civilization. For upon the foundation of an enlightened and voluntary motherhood shall a future civilization emerge.[18] "

Stopes: "Crushed by the burden of taxation which they have not the resources to meet and to provide for children also: crushed by the national cost of the too numerous children of those who do not contribute to the public funds by taxation, yet who recklessly bring forth from an inferior stock individuals who are not self-supporting, the middle and superior artisan classes have, without perceiving it, come almost to take the position of that ancient slave population."

Both admired Hitler.

Like PP works to impliment Sanger's racist vision, MSI works to impliment Stope's equally evil & equally racist vision. Just like PP establishes most of its clinics in minority neighborhoods to ensure, MSI mainly works in 3rd world countries.

Do I have to go any further?

So, why do I bring this up? Simple, to make us in the USA aware of how far & wide the "culture of death" has extended its evil tentacles. HLI reports on the work that MSI is doing in other countries that mirrors that of PP. & sadly, often with the same government support. (Fortunately Kemp-Kasten enabled Bush to ban giving funds to MSI, but like so much else, that will change on 20 Jan 2009.)

I also know that I have several international readers. I pass this info on to make you aware of what is going on as well.

Fortunately, there are groups including HLI that are battling them. They often face the same threats of violence & death that we face here in the USA. & they need our support. HLI has associate groups accross the world. & there are other groups in many countries that need financial help as well. Unlike PP & MSI, these groups rarely get any tax money. &, unfotunately, unlike them HLI & the others do not have the deep pocketted donors like Bill Gates.

Get involved, keep praying. & know that we must never give up this battle to build the "Culture of Life" that the Lord has called us to.
