Following In Her Foundress' Footsteps

In 1212 Santa Chiara co-founded the Poor Clares with San Francesco. Because she had a vision of Midnight Mass when she was ill, she was declared patroness of Television. Over 750 years later 1 of her spiritual daughters, Mother Angelica of the Annunciation PCPA (Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration) founded the Eternal Word Television Network. In recent years illness has kept Mother confined like Santa Chiara. Interestingly, I came across this icon of Santa Chiara that reminded me of a picture of Mother recently posted on the EWTN website. The cat Mother is holding is known as Mickey, The name of il gatto with Santa Chiara is unknown.
