A DAY THAT WILL GO DOWN IN INFAMY

No, I am not refering to the attack on Pearl Harbor. I am refering to something much worse. Thurdsay 21 August 2008 saw Planned Parenthood opening a clinic in DBQ. According to their spokesman, Jennifer Vick, DBQ now has "quality health care" for women & men. Apparently, up til now we haven't had anyone offering quality health care.

& apparently we are a bunch of uneducated idiots who know nothing about safe sex & what causes pregnancies. PP claims there is a need to reduce unplanned pregnancies in the DBQ area. OK, there are probably some unplanned pregnancies in the area. But to hear them talk in it an epidemic. It is? Based on what evidence? They don't say, but if it is based on evidence supplied by the Guttmacher Institute then I would say it is suspect at best. & more likely a lie based on fraudulent info. Why? What PP fails to mention is the Institute was started by PP & named after a former PP president, Alan Guttmacher. Not exactly a disinterested source, is it?

They have also claimed that they are offering services that were not offered here before now. The reality is, the only service they offer that is not currently available in DBQ is abortions. For now they are only providing referals (to a PP office that does them no doubt). However, if they follow true to form, they will soon find a way to justify the need for them to be done here. & Iam am sure the Guttmacher Institute will cook up the numbers needed to do so.

As my friend Maureen Ward (Chairwoman of the Board, DBQ Co. Right to Life) rightly said: "It shows how arrogant Planned Parenthood is that they think we need them. It's the height of arrogance."

Pointing out Thursday's weather, Ellen Markham (former executive director of DBQ Co. Right to Life) said that they were "teardrops marking the opening of Planned Parenthood." Steve Brody, the current executive director, agrees. "It is only appropriate that they are opening on a dark and dreary day." I couldn't agree more as they express my very feelings. This is a sad day for DBQ.

Meanwhile, the silence from the Archdiocese of DBQ Chancery remains deafening & scandelous. So, many people I talk to are wondering how the Archbishop can remain silent. According to reports he recently left DBQ to participate in a "Spanish Immersion" experience. If true, that is still no excuse for his silence. He knew about this last month before he left & didn't say anything then. & there are plenty of people in the Chancery who could speak out even now. They aren't.

I hate to say this, but this leaves only 1 impression, that Archbishop Hanus & the Archdiocese welcomes Planned Parenthood. My question to Archbishop Hanus is this: "How does it feel to know that you will now have the blood of every unborn child who dies as a result of an abortion due to a referal from the DBQ Clinic as well as those killed by chemical abortions caused by the drugs handed out by the DBQ clinic? Then there are all those souls who are risking being damned to Hell because PP enables them to commit a multitude of sexual sins they wouldn't have done if PP wasn't here. Archbishop Hanus, Mnsr. Barta, Jim Yeast etc, you will have a lot to answer for when you stand in judgment. How will you explain your silence to the souls of those killed by the abortions your silence allowed to happen?

(Note, I don't say what I did about the Archbishop & chancery with any joy. I say it out of concern for their souls & the risk they are putting them at because of their silence.)

Meanwhile, there are many of us who will continue praying & continue speaking out the truth about PP. We will not be silenced. We will win. In the end PP will be driven out by our prayful, peaceful efforts.
