Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho Kidnapping Update

According to a Catholic News Agency report, Chaldean Catholic Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho of Mosul is being held for $1.8 million. Italian Bishops’ news service Servizio Informazione Religiosa (SIR) reports that Bishop Louis Sako of Kirkuk told them: "The kidnappers have called more than once asking for ransom."

A friend of Archbishop Rahho, Father Angel Garcia, president and founder of Mensajeros de la Paz foundation, reports that the Archbishop is suffering from some illness. The Archbishop has had heart problems in the past but it is not clear if this illness is related to those problems or something else.
