An Offer He COULD Refuse

Bishop Michele Pennisi recently said no to a request by the famiglia (biological in this case) of Mafia boss Crocefisso Emanuello. They wanted to have the requiem Mass in the cathedral of the Diocese of Piazza Amerina. The Bishop said NO!

Needless to say Emanuello's other famiglia (which includes several of his sons) was not pleased & have issued death threats. The Bishop will not let their threats silence him. "Men of the Church must do their bit to fight the Mafia, " said the Bishop. He won't go into hiding & has even refused police protection. Even so, the police are still keeping an eye on the Bishop.

BRAVO, Bishop Pennisi!!!!!!

Here in America many bishops don't have the spine to stand up to pro-choice (abortion) Catholic politicians. They won't enforce Canon 915. They are afraid to do what is right, even though it would cost them a lot less than their lives. But, Bishop Pennisi is willing to lay down his life to do what the Catholic faith asks of him. He knows the truth in Jesus' warning about gaining the world & losing his soul. It is a shame that most American Bishops don't understand that simple truth & are thus they are doing what they warned pro-choice politicians would happen to them, putting their salvation at risk.

We need to pray for Bishop Pennisi's protection. Should anything happen to him, he will truly be a martyr for the faith.
