Hizbollah & Hamas: Israel didn't win (even though it did)

Reading some of the news reports you would think that Hizballah had defeated Israel & was poised to wipe them off the face of the Earth. At least that is what a leaflet distributed by Hamas to the Lebanese people would have them believe happenned. An article I read on CNSNews.com quoted the leaflet as congratulation the Lebanese on their "big victory" over Israel. FoxNews.com quoted Sheikh Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah claim of "strategic, historic victory." & on HotAir.com I saw some video of a protect in Washington, DC. The people interviewed put all the blame on Israel. On the other side, both President Bush & Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert called it a victory for Israel. Talking about the changes the President said: "There's going to be a new power in the south of Lebanon."

It seems to me that while it wasn't a total victory for Israel. But hey are well on the way to seeing the changes needed in S Lebanon if, & given the UN's track record a big if, the UN & Lebanon do their part to completely disarm Hizbollah. The fact that already Hizbollah has fired some rockets & that Islamic Jihad have also fired some rockets shows how fragile the peace is & how dangereous the situation still is for Israel.

Fighting for control of that area has been going on for 5000 yrs or so. There is a deep seated hatred for Israel & the Jews by many Muslims in the Middle East & elsewhere. & things aren't going to change without divine intervention. I again go back to my same theme, we need to pray for peace, pray for God to change hearts & pour out the Holy Spirit so that there will be a spirit of forgiveness on all signs. Pray to for people to go who will be able to proclaim the Gospel message of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. & be willing to go if God calls.

Without Jesus, there will never be true peace. With Jesus, even in war, a person will have the only true peace there is.
