Recently the Hispanic community of
St. Mary’s in Storm Lake, IA had their 3rd Eucharistic procession that they hold on or close to the anniversary of the dedication of the Guadalupe Chapel at their parish. Bishop Walker Nickless was present in the sanctuary for the Mass. Following the Mass Bishop Nickless carried the monstrance that held the Blessed Sacrament & led the procession through the city. Along the way, they made 3 stops. The 2nd stop was the local Planned Parenthood clinic. The clinic is 1 of the Iowa sites where Planned Parenthood of the Heartland offers "telemed abortions".
“At Planned Parenthood we asked our Eucharistic Lord to remove from our families and relationships the scourge of contraception and abortion,” Father Jeremy Wind, parochial vicar at St. Mary’s noted.
Like
Bishop Aquila, it is clear that Bishop Nickless understands the powerful way God works through Eucharistic Adoration & Eucharistic processions as well. As Catholics we believe that Jesus is truly, substantially present in the Eucharistic Host. We turn to Jesus to ask that He bring victory for us over the demonic forces behind the abortion industry. By stopping in front of the local PP, Bishop Nickless was, as chief shepherd of the
Sioux City Diocese, asking Jesus in a special way to lead the battle in Storm Lake against the "culture of death". In doing so, he has helped to bring the day of that victory much closer.
Note: The Guadalupe Chapel will serve as the new adoration chapel. They plan to hold adoration there every Friday According to Father Wind they “hope to have it much more frequently so as to allow our people to grow closer to Jesus Christ and be able to have time to see him and be close to him. We hope that giving people a chance to love Jesus and experience him in adoration will increase our faith in him.”
