Friday the Obama administration made it clear that they don't care that America is rejecting abortion & Planned Parenthood. Instead they said we are going to make it harder for those who don't like abortion to keep their jobs.
Towards the end of the Bush 43 presidency new rules that prohibited recipients of federal money from discriminating against doctors, nurses & health care aides who refuse to take part in medical procedures to which they have religious or moral objections. The rule implemented existing conscience protection laws that ensure medical professionals cannot be denied employment because they do not want to assist in abortions.
Naturally, the pro-abort gang couldn't tolerate this. So it was no surprize that at the end of February of 2009 the Obama administration announced it began “reviewing” the regulations implementing conscience laws. That review was the 1st step toward rescinding the rule.
On Friday the Health & Human Services Department under Secretary Kathleen Sebelius a pro-abort who claims to be Catholic), issued the new “final rule”. That rule leaves health-care workers of federally funded entities a narrower conscience exemption that only protects them from having to participate in abortions or sterilizations. What it no longer offers is protection for medical workers who have moral or religious objections to dispensing or giving to women the Plan B drug or other emergency contraception that could act in some cases as an abortion drug.
HHS claims that the part rescinded was “unclear and potentially over-broad in scope.” They claim the changes in the Bush rule were needed because they "led to greater confusion". Sibelius said that her department did share the concern of those in favor of rescinding the rule that it had the “potential to negatively impact patient access to contraception and certain other medical services” esp. for certain sub-populations, such as “low income patients, minorities, the uninsured, patients in rural areas, Medicaid beneficiaries, or other medically under-served populations.” In short, screw you pro-lifers & Catholic Church.
OK, maybe that last line was a little harsh, but that is exactly what she is saying. & therein we see the huge hypocricy of the crowd that screams tolerance. They are the most intolerant of anybody who doesn't believe in abortion. Why are we supposed to tolerate the murder of 4000+ unborn by surgical & chemical means, including "emergency contraception" as well as dispensing birth control if it goes against our faith when they clearly are intolerant towars our beiefs & are doing all they can to destroy us.
The ruling is 1st & foremost payback to Planned Parenthood & the rest of the "culture of death" for getting Obama elected. make no mistake about that. 1 of the clearest proof of that is when Sibelius admitted that noted that the vast majority of 300,000 comments received by HHS since they announced their proposal to rescind the 2008 Final Rule were overwhelmingly against rescinding: 187,000 comments. 1.6 to 1 against rescinding or 62% against. So much for doing the will of the people. This is doing the will of Planned Parenthood. Like I said payback.
This fact also proves once again that Cecile Richards claim that the House vote Friday to defund PP "is radically out of step with mainstream American values" is pure BS. PP, the abortion industry, & the Obama administration are the ones who are out of step with mainstream America. & yes, Cecile, this is part of what we voted for as well. & that includes finding ways to balance the budget by eliminating unneeded expenditures, like funding PP.
What the new reg also does is provide a loophole to enable pro-lifers to be discriminated against in being hired & doing their job. Again we see the reality of their claims about tolerance & not discriminating. You can be sure that many pro-lifers will be set up to be fired, all the while the pro-abort employers will be following the "rules".
Like I said, this clear shows the arrogance of the whole "culture of death" gang running the White House. & why despite the vote on Friday the battle is a long way from over in defunding PP. BTW, if I haven't made it clear by now, I highly suspect the timing of the announcement by HHS was intentional.
Folks , keep praying. & keep fighting. The Senate may be run by the Dems, but there are more of them up for reelection in 2012 than Republicans. & that could mean a loss of control. & they know this could be the issue that does it.
In the end, the House will have to stand firm that no appropriations bill will pass that funds PP & that the Dems & Obama have no other choice. Also, as Family Research Council president Tony Perkins said, this points out the urgency to expand pro-life conscience protections through the Abortion Non-Discrimination Act (H.R. 361), submitted by US Rep. John Fleming (R-La.), Reps. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) and Dan Lipinski’s (D-Ill.) “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” (H.R. 3), and Rep. Joe Pitt’s (R-PN) “Protect Life Act” (H.R. 358).
