"Telemed Abortions" Now They Are Going North to Alaska

Jill Stanek has reported that Planned Parenthood has already begun the efforts to expand its abuse of telemedicine to Alaska. (Planned Parenthood using telemed in Alaska, plans Northwest expansion) I guess this news shouldn't surprize me. & to some extent, it doesn't. This is PP at its worst, using half-truths etc to cover up how far along they really are in their plans to expand "telemed abortions". After all PP is the same organization that uses false corporations to hide their plans to build abortion clinics where they know they won't be welcome. (The League at Ground Zero)
As Jill reports, here's what's been going on at PPGNW, chronologically:
PPGNW 2009 Annual Report:
We learned a lot in 2009. We harnessed technology for teaching and training as well as tested telemedicine services....
[O]ur primary focus remains on the health care needs of people in the Great Northwest. We'll continue to increase access through online services and take the next step in expansion of our telemedicine project in AK....
The Marysville Globe, March 23, 2010:
PPGNW's next challenges include... the adoption of telemedicine technologies, so that the agency can serve people in the most remote places that PPGNW covers.
Winter 2010 PPGNW newsletter:
We have completed our telemedicine pilot to benefit our most rural sites. In some areas in AK, patients do not have access to the services of a clinician without traveling to the closest large town, which can involve both boat and plane trips.
In a recent pilot test of this technology, a PPGNW clinician in ID, licensed in AK, with the help of medical assistants at our health center in Soldotna, AK, provided routine examinations and even prescribed contraception to 7 patients in Soldotna, using video conferencing and data transfer technologies. All involved felt it was a great success! We will be rolling out this new technology in Juneau and other rural health centers in AK soon.

Spring 2010 PPGNW newsletter, a full blown article on telemed (page 4)...

... PPGNW decided to adopt telemedicine to increase clinician availability in rural areas such as Soldotna and Sitka, AK. It is often difficult to find and maintain full time clinicians in smaller communities. Without a clinician on site... a licensed provider would have to fly to the nearest health center, increasing costs....

Services offered through telemedicine include discussing birth control methods and receiving prescriptions, emergency contraceptive visits, STI screenings, and options education.
PPGNW currently offers telemedicine in AK, but plans to expand the use of this new technology. Telemedicine allows PPGNW providers to... strive toward meeting the needs of people in rural communities, underserved areas, and small towns across our Great Northwest.
So what does PP mean by "options education"? From PP:
If you are pregnant, you have three options to think about - abortion, adoption, and parenting....
Family planning clinics, like your local PP health center, have specially trained staff who can talk with you about all of your options. But beware of so-called "crisis pregnancy centers". These are fake clinics run by people who are anti-abortion. They often don't give women all their options. They have a history of scaring women into not having abortions....
Notice the usual PP scare tactics attacking crisis pregnancy centers. As Jill points out: "PP apparently has a video or "counselors" ready to steer pregnant mothers in crisis and in isolated areas away from getting free help from a pregnancy care center to carry a baby to term, thereby narrowing their 'options'." In other words, with very few exceptions, the counseling at a PP ends in an abortion, the big money maker for them. In other words, CPCs are attacked by PP not because they don't give women all their options, rather they show women that abortion is NOT an option. & when women opt against abortion PP loses its blood money it would make from murdering the baby.
As someone pointed out in the comments for Jill's Wisc PP post:"PP clinics, particularly those in rural areas, are often staffed by people who do not have a medical license." & as the above from PPGNW points out, this is even more of a problem in Alaska.

So, I ask the same question that person asked in her comments: "Isn't that the very thing pro-aborts are dissing CPC's for?" & the answer is Yes. PP & other abortion supporters have attacked CPCs claiming they don't have medically trained staff. The problem is, the opposite is true. These places do have trained people on staff. Those who work the ultrasounds have to meet strict regulatory guidelines. & that is only 1 example.
In fact, these comments confirm what I said I suspect in my post on Wisc PP's abuse of Telemed: "it strikes me that PP may just eaxpand this to the limit so they can reduce the number of staff, raise the profit level & even keep open a few locations that are marginal right now. & all at the expense of the women they claim to want to help."
I also commented that it may be that PPWI is already doing a few "telemed abortions". As I said earlier, given the stealth mode/fait acompli mode they love to operate in it is very much a possibility. & given that PPGNW already offers chemical abortions, i wouldn't be surprized to find out that they have already offered some trial "telemed abortions" at Soldotna & Sitka.
Something also tells me this is just the tip of the iceberg. I predict that over the next few weeks it will come out that telemed technology has already been rolled out or in the process of being rolled out in a lot more parts of the USA, including (despite PPECI's denials) including DBQ.
