If the Blessed Virgin Mary Could Have Had an Ultrasound. . .

Over the centuries there have been many artists renditions of what it was like on that 1st Christmas. But until now, no one has attempted to portray Jesus in the womb of the Blessed Virgin. Some Churches in Great Britian will be doing just that for a campaign to remind people of the real meaning of Christmas.

While the message itself is a reminder of the meaning of Christmas, it also has a strong Pro-life message attached to it as well. It reminds us that the unborn child is a seperate human being, not a blob of tissue. It also points to Luke 1:39-44. That Gospel story reminds us that St. John was filled with the Holy Spirit before his birth. Something that could only be true if Elizabeth was carrying a child. & Elizabeth's comment about Mary being the mother of her Lord also states that same truth.
