Prayer works. Last Saturday an abortion clinic, the Community Health Center of Pensacola, FL published a notice in the local newspaper that said "As of October 30, 2009, The Community Health Center of Pensacola will be terminating its practice."
"
There had been an abortion clinic in that location for 25 years," said David Bereit, national director of 40 Days for Life. It has been the site of 3 40 Days for Life campaigns.
The center was dually licensed as an abortion clinic and as a clinical laboratory. It faced a $413,000 fine after the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) found its lab license had been expired for 413 days. The clinic was fined $1,000 for each day it was unlicensed, as the Pensacola News Journal reports. So, instead of paying the fine, the abortion clinic decided to shut down according to AHCA press secretary Tiffany Vause.
Meanwhile, a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Kalispell, Montana announced that it will close its doors on 20 November. It cited a decline in business as the reason for the closure. As Stacy James, a Montana Planned Parenthood executive, admitted to the daily newspaper: “We’ve not had the patient numbers to keep the doors open.” That clinic was the site of a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil this past spring.
IMHO the decline in numbers is the result of prayer. The fact that the lack of a license came out when it did also is no accident either. It was by God's providence that it came out now. It also shows how little abortion clinics actually respect the law. They were more concerned with making money than being sure they were licensed to do the other proceedures they claim are their main thrust.
In addition, the recently ended Fall campaign resulted in at least 586 babies saved.
