Some Good News on the Iowa Pro-Life Front
With all the fall out from the recent events in Kansas, I am happy to report some good news.
A few weeks ago I wrote about the planned opening of a new clinic in Iowa City, IA that would be the 1st true Pro-Life alternative to the 3 abortion clinics in Iowa City, IA.
Informed Choice of Iowa has officially opened Choices Medical Clinic at 821 S Gilbert St. While they don't have it up on their website yet, the June 2009 newsletter has some pictures of the clinic.
1 of those pictures is 1 of the pictures from their new 4D color ultrasound. & yes, the baby IS smiling. It has been found that the provision of ultrasound to women at-risk for abortion doubles the potential number of babies saved versus counseling alone. (Heartlink)
Their recent Walk for Life earned over $22 Thousand for the clinic. They recently got a $500 check from the IA Catholic Daughters to buy a microscope for the STD testing lab. & the St. Wenceslaus Knights of Columbus (Iowa City) just gave them $750 that they collected from their ongoing KCANS4LIFE campaign.
But they still need money & volunteers. As I have pointed out so often before, Pro-life clinics don't get the huge government handouts that abortion providers like Planned Parenthood get. They depend on people like you & me helping them.
