This Doesn't Make It Any Less Evil

I was reading the Sunday 2 November 2008 e-mail update from 40 Days for Life & came across the following from a site in Maryland: ""As she prayed, Susan thought about why she was there. "Just the night before, I had visited Whole Woman's Health web site. They have the most attractive women pictured with such luring lies as, 'We care about the whole woman.'"" Then I came to the following line & came up short: "For extra fees, this clinic offers a "VIP abortion" package with a private room, light meal and herbal tea."

I couldn't believe what I saw. a "VIP abortion", surely you can't be serious? So I went to their website. Much to my disgust, & as I expected, she was. (For you Airplane fans, fill in the rest.) IN FACT, IT WAS WORSE! They offer several special packages under the group classification of private abortions (as opposed to public?????). Naturally, they are all at extra cost (extra cost not covered by insurance).

The "VIP package": You have the entire clinic to yourself. No other "patients" will be in the clinic at the time. The whole staff is exclusively there for the woman. "VIP abortion care also includes a post-abortion care basket. You will be served a light meal in the aftercare room before you leave. You can also expect a personal follow up call several days later from the nurse."

Then there is the "private abortion care". In this case you get to stay 1 the woman to stay in 1 room throughout the entire process. No need to go back to the waiting room betwen exam, etc. It "also includes healing herbal tea in your own Whole Woman’s Health mug, and a personal follow up call several days later from the nurse."

Finally there is the "fast track" abortion, for a few extra bucks you get to go to the head of the line. Sorry no other perks.

However, no matter how much they try & pretty it up, no matter how they try & make it sound like a sweet wholesome experience, it still boils down to 1 thing. They are murdering an unborn child. & finding new ways to package it for additional profit.

That fact shows the truth about the abortion business, that it is a business. They don't care about the women, except for the fact that they can find new ways to make money off of them. The impersonalness of the business is made clear by the fact that you have to pay extra for "a personal follow up call several days later from the nurse." In other words, we don't care if you die from complications unless you pay us to make it look like we do (or threaten to sue us for malpractice). Can you name any other major surgical proceedure where there isn't automaticly scheduled follow up? & unlike this, the follow up is covered by insurance.

So what their offers boil down to is this, a further cheapening of life. The "culture of death" minions at this clinic equate a life of inestimable value with a cheesy care basket or an overpriced mug. That is evil, Satanic evil & nothing else. It is straight out of Hell. That smell you are noticing about now is brimstone burning. & all the herbal tea in the world won't cover it up.

To paraphrase a line from the Gospel of Matthew: For what shall it profit a woman, if she shall gain a Whole Woman’s Health mug & lose her very soul? You know what, I know of no soul that is only worth a $10 mug. If that is all a soul is worth, then why did Jesus have to die on the cross?

Every day, those in the abortion industry are moving closer to the day when they will have to answer to God for their destruction of countless lives, as well as countless souls of those they sold the "lie of abortion" to. The result is death, physical & ultimately spiritual. This is why what Fr. Frank Pavone said in a 40 Days reflection is so important for us to hear:

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”–Revelation 21:4-5

Every activity we undertake in defense of the sanctity of life is prophetic, inasmuch as it points to the day when “death will be no more.”
Every victory we have when an act of abortion is prevented is prophetic of that day when death itself will be definitively conquered.
Every triumph of grace in this world, whereby someone is brought to see the value of life and given the strength to welcome it, is a breaking into our history of that definitive future in which the old order of things will have passed, and all things will be made new.
As pro-life warriors, we must keep our eyes fixed on heaven, and our hearts secure in the hope that the day is coming when all evil will be conquered. It is the future that shapes the present; it is victory that informs the battle; it is the destination that determines the journey.
Daily, we are called to reflect on heaven. When we weep, we are to think of the day when every tear will be wiped away.
When we face the destructive power of death, we are to think of the day when death is swallowed up in victory.When we labor against abortion, we are to think of the day when we will have the rest and peace of the final triumph of life.
Heaven is as real as earth, and its joys will be as real as our present sorrows.

We are bringing life where there is death. We are offering God's love & forgiveness where there is hatred & contempt. It is not to late for those involved in the abortion industry to repent. God's mercy extends to all. Anyone who regularly reads my blogs knows what I'm going to say next. We need to pray for them. Pray that God will touch their hearts & lead them to repentance & give them the grace to leave the "culture of death" they are a part of. We need to love them as Jesus would. Pray & speak out, both to condemn abortion as sin & to call them to God's mercy.

VIP treatment, reduced room rates & all the other things may make it seem like darkness is on the upswing. But, no matter how dark it may seem, we must not give up. For we will see the day when "death is no more"!!!!! God's light will overcome darkness forever.
