Planned Parenthood Again Shows It Cares More About Money Than the Health of Its Victims*
“We have received word that these are already taking place at Planned Parenthood in Sioux City ,” said Kim Lehman, President of Iowa Right to Life. “Women in Iowa will die from these abortions, because there are deadly complications from RU-486 that cannot be diagnosed by webcam.” More Profitable for Planned Parenthood, More Dangerous for Women
It gets worse. Planned Parenthood does not follow FDA Protocol for RU-486. Planned Parenthood gives women a cheaper combination of the pills in an RU-486 abortion, against the recommendations of the Food and Drug Administration, which makes these abortions more profitable for the abortion group and more dangerous for women.
Planned Parenthood gives women a single RU-486 pill, instead of three recommended by the
FDA, then ups the dosage of the less expensive prostaglandin, Misoprostol, which expels the baby.Planned Parenthood also cuts back the number of appointments the FDA recommends for an RU-486 abortion from three to two, which also increases Planned Parenthood’s profits by reducing office and staffing expenses.
Women Facing Their Abortion Alone
Complications from RU-486 include deadly ectopic pregnancies, bacterial infection and excessive bleeding. At least 11 women have died after taking RU-486, including five women in the United States. A woman who had taken RU-486 during clinical trials at a Des Moines clinic in 1995 nearly bled to death.
Planned Parenthood performs over 85 percent of the RU-486 abortions in the state of Iowa and over 56 percent of the surgical abortions. Planned Parenthood aborts over 12 children a day in Iowa .
