"Dominick the Great" is 75 Today

I'm refering to my paisan Dom DeLuise . He is a great comic actor. I always enjoyed his appearances on The Dean Martin Show. 1 of his great characters wa Dominick the Great, a lousy magician who was oblivious to his failings.

Here is Dominick's 1st appearance on Dino's show:

Dino usually left in the goof-ups on his show (but did have to bleep things occasionally. Sometimes it was those bloopers that made the skit even funnier than it would have been. In this skit we see that not much has changed in how the government does things from when they 1st did this skit over 35 yrs ago:

I could go on. There are so many great clips from his appearances with Dino, his own show, The Muppets etc. He made a lot of movies, many with Mel Brooks. He mostly did comdies, but he did play a few serious roles.

Dom also wrote some cookbooks, Italiano of course. & naturally he called the 1st Eat This ... It Will Make You Feel Better. He wrote it with the help of his mother & it has a great selection of the old fashioned Italiano recipes. The title comes from the way Italians handle stress, food. Of course in an Italiono household you would hear Mama say "Mange!" Her is something from a cooking DVD he made:
