40 Days for Life Announces the Fall 2008 Campaign Sites

40 Days for Life has announced its Fall 2008 Locations for the Fall 2008 prayer campiagn. The campaign will run from 24 September - 2 November 2008. This campaign includes 5 locations in Iowa. Since it didn't open before the time to sign up for the campaign, the newly opened DBQ clinic isn't officially included. But I will be praying for it to close as an unofficial part of the campaign. The 5 official Iowa locations are Bettendorf (closest to DBQ), Council Bluffs, Des Moines, Ft. Dodge & Sioux City.

So what it 40 Days for Life?

It is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:
40 days of prayer and fasting
40 days of peaceful vigil
40 days of community outreach

The campaign has received endorsements from many Pro-Life leaders as an effective way to battle abortion. Those who support the campaign include Norma McCorvey (Roe of Roe v Wade), Fr. Frank Pavone (Priests For Life), Fr. Thomas Euteneuer (Human Life International), Jim Sedlak (STOp Planned Parenthood) & Joe Scheidler (Pro-Life Action League).

The past campaigns have born much fruit. Here are some of the results:

Over 150,000 have joined together in an historic display of unity to pray and fast for an end to abortion
More than 35,000 people have taken to the streets, forming peaceful 40-day prayer vigils outside of Planned Parenthood centers and abortion facilities
Reports from around the country document that more than 500 lives have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about
Five abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry
Two Planned Parenthood facilities abruptly stopped performing abortions and another abortion facility completely shut down following a local 40 Days for Life
Hundreds of women and men have been spared from the tragic effects of abortion, including a lifetime of regrets
More than 300 news stories have been featured in newspapers, magazines, radio shows and TV programs from coast to coast
Many people with past abortion experiences have stepped forward to begin post-abortion healing and recovery
