Welcome to the land of Porn Stars & Politics. Given the past history of Italiano politics, a porn star running isn't news. They have run before, & won. Benito Mussolini's granddaughter Alessandra Mussolini was a topless model & now represents Italia in the European Parliament. She is the leader & founder of the neo-fascist political party Social Action. In the 90s she represented Nàpule in the Italiano Parliament. Then there was Cicciolina, nee Anna Ilona Staller, Hungarian born, hardcore Italiano porn star. She was elected in 1987, representing the Lazio region in Italia's Parliament. & she was well known for her impromptu strip-teases.

So, what is the big deal this time arround? Why is Milly D'Abbraccio getting any attention? Maybe because of what she has made the centerpiece of her campaign. She "wants to create a red light area with strip clubs, erotic discos and sex shops called 'Love City' just kilometres away from the Vatican." Part of me suspects the US media is making such a big deal out of this because of how it embarrasses the Catholic Church. & if that were all, I'd ignore it. This is 1 aspect of my Italiano heritage that I am definitely ashamed of. I suspect there is more. This is another part of the deterioration of our culture from its Judeo-Christian roots into the cesspool our society has become. Think about it, college field trips to whore houses, the pornification of TV (For example, during my lunchbreak tonite I flipped past a show where a guy was bragging that he was a straight guy making gay porn.), Planned Parenthood being the gatekeeper of our sexuality. . . Do I have to go on?

Time after time we have been warned by God that if we don't turn away from evil & turn back to Him we will have to pay the consequences. We are in a time of Divine Mercy. But, if our society keeps rejecting that mercy that offers us the chance to repent & be saved, then we will see the day when we leave God no choice but to withdraw that mercy. Then, He won't have to do a thing, our society will bring itself down, like so many others in the past.

Papa Benedetto is visiting the USA beginning today. The theme of his Apostolic Journey is a message we need: Christ Our Hope. For without Christ & His gift of salvation from our sins, we have no hope. Without Christ, we face death & destruction. With Christ, we can change the world. We can stop this cesspool. We can end abortion. We can restore our society to what God wants it to be.

With the exception oe EWTN's coverage, almost all of the MSM's coverage will prove that most of the media just doesn't get it. Or want to. Some from ignorance, but most from willfully refusing to listen to the Gospel message Papa Benedetto is preaching. But why should they listen? Why? Because they need to for their salvation. Why don't they want to? Because they don't want to turn away from their sinful lifestyles. & in many cases, they have set out to destroy the Church because of the very message it proclaims that shows they are sinful. They treat the Church klike Herod treated John the Baptist. For teh same reason.

This visit by Papa Benedetto is a major sign of God's Love for our country & the people who live here. It is also a sign of God's Mercy. & it may be the last chance offered us to turn away from the path of destruction we are on. Let us pray for an openess to the working of the Holy Spirit though the Holy Father. Pray that our country will turn away from evil & again seek Jesus, His Kingdom & His Righteousness. It has to start with those of us who call ourselves Christian. Like Daniel, we are called to repent because we are a part of this society. 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us that if we do we can expect God to act.

In the end, every person has to make their own decision to accept or reject Christ. & none of us can force others to do so. But those of us wh are Christian cannot ignore our responsibility that I just oulined. If we don't speak out against evil, if we don't pray, repent etc, then we will have to answer for our failure to d so & the lives that were lost as a result.

God has given us the solution to change our society, to truly deal with the problems. To paraphrase the old cliche: We can be a part of God's solution. If we don't then we are a part of the problem & are just as much to blaim.

Please join Papa Benedetto & the rest of us who ARE allowing the Holy Spirit to use us to bring God's solution to the world? Please?, before it is too late.
