AP article: College Students Tour Nevada Brothel (No, that isn't a typo. you read it right!)

You can safely put to rest any doubts that you may have that a college diploma isn't worth the paper it is printed on. IT ISN"T!

A tour by a dozen Randolph College (Lynchburg, Va) students of Nevada's notorious Chicken Ranch proves that.

The tour was a part of this year's American Culture Program. The topic this year was consumerism. OK, I know that sometimes celebrities will prostitute themselves by making commercials just for the money, but this??????????

& Randolph College is even bragging about it on their website. ( American Culture Program Makes Headlines)

"'We're always open to trying to educate the public about legalized prostitution,' said Chicken Ranch general manager Debbie Rivenburgh, who acknowledged this was the first class tour request she'd received in 21 years.

The brothel tour was a natural fit for a class that tells students 'don't just study America — live it,' said Julio Rodriguez, the director of the college's American Culture Program."

Sorry, but it sounds to me that you are trying to encourage women to participate in an occupation that is not only immoral, but is really quite degrading to the women who participate in what is "the world's oldest profession".

"With a tour and time to mingle, the students packed up gift bags containing a menu of services, a Chicken Ranch key chain and a brochure. They had to get back to Las Vegas in time for a backstage tour of the risque revue 'Jubilee.'"

Randolph College is a 115 yr old Women's College that just began admitting men last Fall. It's most famous graduate was author Pearl S. Buck. How the mighty have fallen.

Not surprizingly, at Randolph they even have student orginization for those who are into Wiccan/Paga practices. No more of a surprize than the fact that the Chicken Ranch has its own website. (& no, I am not going to provide a link for that.)
