If Truth In Advertising Was Applied to the Beijing Olympics

Unfortunately, the Beijing Olympics website doesn't have the courage to tell the truth. & whatever else it may say, the fact that they are being held in China highlites a longstanding hypocracy in the Olympics movement. It banned South Africa from participating because of apartheid. There have been equally horrible human rights violations (Christians, Tibet Jews, just to name a few of the victims) in the USSR & Mainland China. Not only have those violations been ignored down through the years, but both countries have been rewarded rather than punished by being allowed to hold the Olypics games.

Will someone please tell me why the double standard? Besided the obvious political & financial power disparity.
