Troparion for Palm Sunday
O Christ our God, by raising Lazarus from the dead, You, before the time of Your Passion, confirmed the resurrection of everyone; therefore we, as the children of Israel, carry the symbols of victory and cry out to You, the Conqueror of death: "Hosanna in the highestl Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord!"

Today is Palm Sunday. On this day we commemorate Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem. It is also the beginning of Holy Week aka Great & Holy Week.
Palm Sunday's liturgy includes the blessing of palm branches. 1 of the traditions that is a part of this is taking that palm & making crosses out of them. I learned the art of doing this as a child from my Grandpa.
As I make the crosses I am reminded of the fact that those same people who welcomed Jesus would change their cries of "Hosanna!" to "Crucify Him!" It reminds me that everytime I sin I do the same thing.
Kontakion of Palm Sunday
Sitting on Your throne in heaven, carried on a foal on earth, O Christ God! Accept the praise of angels and songs of children who sing: Blessed is He that comes to recall Adam!
