Next Friday, 8 Dec 2006 on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception people will be gathering accross the USA for the Annual National Night of Prayer for Life. It will begin at 9:00 pm local time & continue until 1:00 am the next day. It will be a 4 hour period of prayer & Eucharistic adoration. There is a special hour set aside as the national hour of unity. This is from Midnite to 1:00 am EST (11:00pm CST, 10:00 pm MST & 9:00 pm PST).
With the many apparent set backs in the 2006 General Election (although there were still some positive results) prayer is more important than ever as the foundation for what we need to do to battle the Culture of Death. Those set backs will only be set backs if we give up & let them be.
Here in the Dubuque area there will be 2 locations available. At St. Mary's Catholic Church in East Dubuque, IL the night will begin with 7:00 pm Mass for the feast day. Eucharistic Adoration will begin after the Mass at 8:00 pm & continue until 1:00 am. In Dyersville, IA there will be Eucharistic Adoration from 9:00 pm to 1:oo am. Anyone in the DBQ area can contact Dubuque County Right to Life at (563)556-5960 for more info or to sign up to commit to (a) specific hour(s) to pray.
