Today Is World Down Syndrome Day

Currently, up to 90% of all women who have a diagnosis of Down syndrome for their unborn baby will terminate their pregnancy. This is absolutely untenable. No child should be aborted, NO CHILD!!!!!!!

Our society has bought into the "culture of death" lie that children with Down syndrome are NOT worthy of being allowed to live. The truth is different. Each child with Down syndrome is of great worth. Corrie ten Boom  told the Nazi Officer who called her time spent with teaching the Christian faith to mentally handicapped children in Haarlem a waste of time that in God's eyes one of them may be worth more than him.  We need to remember that fact, that our culture's values defining what gives a person worth are NOT God's values. 

When in high school & college I often worked with children & adults with Down syndrome through Buddy Club as well as other organizations. I never met a person who didn't deserve to live. They all had an intrinsic worth. So when I read stats about how many of those diagnosed with Down syndrome are killed via abortion, it makes my blood boil.

We must speak out. As Proverbs 24:11 says "Deliver them that are led to death: and those that are drawn to death, forbear not to deliver." (Douay-Rheims) This holocaust within a holocaust MUST be stopped.
