Silent No More to NARAL: Roe v Wade Nothing to Celebrate

Silent No More is making sure that NARAL faces the truth about abortion, something you can be sure is not on the menu of this overpriced fundraiser they are putting on today. The fundraiser is for both NARAL Pro-Choice America, a 501(c)(4) organization & NARAL Pro-Choice America Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
What Silent No More is doing is making sure those attending do see the reality of abortion. They put a face on the damage abortion does to people.
I recently dealt with someone in the comment section of our local paper who wanted nothing to do with these groups & what they had to say. She was attacking the writer of a letter sharing her experiences of people emotionally hurt by abortion. I shared several websites, including Silent No More's, for those interested & I talked about my research on the subject & what I did find. This is what she said she was looking for & not looking for: "I did look for STUDIES (statistics with sample sizes and comparison of different variables) to get a clear picture of how many men STATISTICALLY object to the termination of these pregnancies. No where did I say that I couldn't find articles written by males who were not in favor of the termination of the pregnancies. Again, conjecture with no basis in fact. You were so ready to attack, you didn't eve consider the fact that I am trying to get a true picture of the issue, minus the emotional and religious diatribe that so often cloud the truth." (emphasis mine) The problem is she is trying to hide behind numbers. She doesn't want to face the fact that the issue does cause emotional pain & hurt. That 1st part is not what she said originally. " Also, I've been searching for studies/statistics that would indicate how many fathers, of aborted fetuses, really wanted the baby. I can't find anything." So in her mind, emotional feelings of loss don't count for really wanting the baby.
She is typical of many Pro-aborts in that they don't want to face the people thier "choice" has harmed. Numbers are cold, they can be manipulated. & they can be used to avoid reality. Silent No More is doing all it can to make sure that at least for a few minutes, the people at the NARAL gathering can't avoid it.
Post-abortive women to protest NARAL abortion celebration
by Kathleen Gilbert

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 9, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Mothers and fathers who have experienced the tragedy of abortion will gather outside a top pro-abortion lobby’s celebration of Roe v. Wade on Thursday.
For the sixth consecutive year, members of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign will greet NARAL Pro-Choice America supporters outside their annual luncheon at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, located at 2500 Calvert St. NW, holding signs that say “I Regret My Abortion” or “I Regret My Lost Fatherhood.”
NARAL is currently campaigning aggressively against a series of bills introduced in the U.S. House that aim to prevent taxpayer funding of abortion. “When it comes to attacking choice, these politicians know no bounds,” said NARAL president Nancy Keenan in an email to supporters.
But the protesters say they want NARAL to know what they learned about abortion through first-hand experience - that it is a choice that should never be made.
“We feel it’s important to have a presence when they’re celebrating, to show that there’s another side to this,” said Nancy Tanner, Silent No More regional coordinator for Northern Virginia. “Many of us are hurt by abortion and regret that decision.”
All pro-lifers are welcome to join the peaceful protest.
The Silent No More Awareness Campaign was co-founded by Janet Morana, executive director of Priests for Life, and Georgette Forney, president of Anglicans for Life.
The campaign’s most visible outreach takes place every year immediately following the March for Life in Washington, D.C., when women and men gather in front of the Supreme Court building to tell the many ways their abortion experiences hurt them - emotionally, physically and spiritually.
“These women and men are tired of having pro-choice advocates pretend to speak for them. They want to tell the world, in their own words, that what is too easily celebrated as a ‘choice’ and a ‘right’ is in fact a painful burden,” said Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life.

I'm sure that there will be a lot more silent no more people than the 10 pro choice counter protesters at the March for Life.
