What Was She Thinking

According to a WITN-TV report on their website, Police found an infant dead inside a storage bin at the Planned Parenthood building in Winston-Salem Saturday morning. LifeNews reports that the child was found alive by a PP staffer who reported it to the police. The baby was a newborn white girl. She was found wrapped in a blanket with a diaper on & wearing a one-piece outfit. The child later died. An autopsy was performed at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center to determine the cause of death. So far all they know is the child was born several weeks prematurely. The results of tests will take 3 weeks to come back. & until then nothing more can be said for certain about the cause of death. In her post on this, Jill Stanek opines that death might have been due to hypothermia.
Captain David Clayton of the police force said he believes the child's mother intended to abandon the infant safely under the state's "Safe Surrender" law. The act states that a parent may voluntarily bring a child less than seven days old to a health care provider on duty at a hospital, district health department or a nonprofit community health center; to a law enforcement officer who is on duty at a police station or sheriff's department; to a social services worker who is on duty or at a local department of social services and; or a certified emergency medical service who is on duty or at a fire or medical services station. To put it bluntly, PP doesn't fit any of the criteria of the law.
I will admit that I am a bit puzzled why the mother would have brought the child there. Like I said, PP is not a health center. But maybe she thought so because of how PP likes to falsely present itself. But even if she thought this was an approved site, dropping the child off in a storage bin doesn't meet the laws qualifications.
Then there is the seeming discrepency between the 2 reports. However, that could be explained very simply. That the PP employee called the police could have been left out of the WITN report & by the time they got there the child had died.
In my heart of hearts I want to believe that the mother intended no harm for the child & that in her desperation she did what she hoped was within the limits of the "Safe Surrender" law. If so, then she had to have dropped the child off at the bin between 5 pm Friday & the 7 am opening of the PP abortion mill on Saturday. (Note: the site does both surgical & chemical abortions) & I want to believe that this had nothing to do with a child born alive as the result of an abortion at the place, or that the mother went into labor at the mill as she was about to undergo the abortion. But with PP you never know. Again, the autopsy may shed some light on this. &, if as Jill Stanek said, it was simply hypothermia, then it was clearly the mother's good intentions gone awry.
But, if the mother did abandon the child, why PP? Did she honestly believe that PP would care? Did she buy into their we push adoption as an alternative line? The recently reported statistics prove otherwise. American Life League reported that according to PP's own statistics in 2008 they did "134 abortions for every adoption referral". See also Planned Parenthood 2008: Abortion comprised 96% of pregnancy services for more on what PP's statistics actually say rather that theirn twist on them. 1 of PPs claims is that abortion is only 3% of the services they provide. Sorry PP, I am not buying that load of cow produced fertilizer you are trying to sell.
Speaking of buying a load of BS, Melissa Reed, vice president of policy for Planned Parenthood Heath Services in Raleigh said that the abortion center was closed on Saturday following the baby abandonment. She went on to claim that the staff at the abortion business were able to receive counseling following the incident. Sorry, but I don't buy that. This is a place that routinely murders babies. The only thing that might have upset them was the disruption of their routine. Jill Stanek's comment on the counseling catches the total absurdity of their claim. " Only in this crazy world where we pretend abortion clinics don’t kill children would an otherwise tragic news story include these absurd lines:
Reed said this is the first time that a dead infant has been placed outside of a Planned Parenthood office in North Carolina. She said counseling was being made available to employees who came to work Saturday
."
What Reed is doing is pure spin. They are trying to present their employees as caring human beings who are victims to gain sympathy. Gee, isn't that the ploy the Menendez brothers tried to use to get away with murdering their parents?
Leave it to PP to turn a tragedy into a means of making them the good guys instead of the murderers they really are.
