The other day I mentioned in
passing that Planned Parenthood Golden Gate (PPGG) wouls soon be disaffiliated from the national organization. That means that PPGG can no longer use the PP name or materials. After reading about this in LifeNews Matthew Archbold rightly asks
How Bad An Abortuary Do You Have To Be? Like I said, good question. How bad have things gotten with them that PPGG, which has been arround since 1923, is being given the boot
As I mentioned the other day, this is the PP that came out with an
animated cartoon superheroine who went arround killing Pro-lifers. While that ad got banned from airplay, it was OK by PP national standards. (& that is only 1 of many offensive ads it produced.)
OK then how about the fact that last year teenager
Holly Patterson died from using the dangerous RU 486 abortion drug that she was given at a PPGG clinic? After she took the drug, Patterson experienced severe cramping, bleeding, & vomiting. She called the PP clinic hotline, but was only encouraged to take more painkillers by them. She called back again. This time the clinic encouraged her to go to the emergency room if the pain continued. She did go to an ER but an emergency room doctor simply prescribed more painkillers. Patterson died three days later. No, that passes muster with PP as an acceptable event.
Well then, how about giving false medical information out? (Something PP is quick to accuse Crisis Pregnancy Centers of doing.) A while ago PPGG came under fire for telling patients to take one part of the drug vaginally instead of orally, as recommended by the FDA. The outcome of that wrong info, the deaths of four California women who developed deadly bacterial infections as a result. As Live Action investigations have proven, that is an acceptable PP practice.
Well then, how about the fact that PPGG was also among several Planned Parenthood clinics found to have conducted clinical trials on minor girls as young as 13? As Jim Sedlak of ALL pointed out, the nature of the trials was suspect. Why? Given the type of trials, it would mean the abortion chain was aware of the minor girls' possible sexual activity with an adult, making
Planned Parenthood liable to report it as sex abuse. But as has been shown by several investigations by Lila Rose, covering up statuatory rape is SOP at PP.
So what was so terrible at PPGG that it becomes only the 3rd local PP in the organization's history to disaffiliated? Simple, according to Karen Ruffato, PPFA vice president of affiliate services, PPGG was "not meeting our standards for administrative and fiscal management." PPGG has fallen on hard times financially, so PP has cut the ties. PP talks about their concern for women's health, safe & legal abortions, etc. In reality, none of PPGG's actions that belie those claims mattered. All that mattered in the end was the bottom line. Comments by Therese Wilson, interim CEO of PPGG, to the Bay Citizen make it clear that that is the reason. She said that the abortion business would come up with a new name & focus on fundraising, (& here it is) because they had fallen on hard financial times. & a big part of that was because it no longer receives reimbursements from the state for Medi-Cal & won't until a state budget is approved.
So where did all the money go to? & why was it so dependant on taxpayer funds? OK, I don't have the answer to the 1st question. But the 2nd question shows again how much PP depends on taking money out of the pockets of taxpayers to keep going. & once again raises the question of where has all that unaccounted taxpayer money gone to? & why
Iowa & other states should audit PP.
A couple of interesting sidelights. The last
annual report PPGG came out with was for the Fiscal Year ending June 2008. No FYE 2009 report yet, & the 2010 Fiscal Year has ended as well. & the FYE 2008 report is very scarce on financial details as well. Also PPGG is currently having a contest to win a iPad. Since many of the questions are about PP & the contest ends long after the 3 September disaffiliation, that creates some problems about what they will do after that date. Also, there is nothing on their website or Facebook page about the upcoming event. Sounds to me like they are afraid to get the news out until they have to out of fear things will get worse than they would like before then.
As I said, once again, despite their attempts to say otherwise, the facts are showing what is really at the heart of PPs agenda. & it isn't concern about women & their health. They are a business started esp to eliminate minorities & make a profit doing so.
