It's Official, Joan Chittister Has been Declared a "False" Prophet

Although I am sure that Call to Action Pennsylvania who gave Satan's favorite blueberry muffin the award would see things differently. But that is only because she is promoting their heretical & dissident views over authentic Catholic teaching.

On 6 June 2010, Call to Action Pennsylvania presented Joan Chittister (left in picture from conference) with its First Annual 21st Century Prophet Award. The award occurred at a Mass and luncheon at a Holiday Inn in Pittsburgh. (I can just imagine the ton of liturgical abuses at this thing. I wonder if they had Joanie up there at the altar playing priestess? I wouldn't be surprized.)She stands for all the things that Call To Action stands for, for more openness in the church, more dialogue, less acrimony and a greater role for women in the church,” explained John Pillar, one of the organizers.

Pardon me while I laugh. Less acrimony!!!! This from a group that has done plenty to cause acrimony by its attempts to undermine authentic Catholic teaching & the Pope. & of course the greater role they are refering to women having is making them priestesses despite clear teaching over 2000 years to the contrary. Any doubt that is what the mean? I present this quote from their website as proof: ""We call upon the Church to discard the discipline of mandatory priestly celibacy and to open the Priesthood to women and married men...so that the Eucharist may continue to be the center of the spiritual life of all Catholics." (The emphasis is mine.)

According to Joanie's website, she was presented with an inscribed Jewish Berakah, a blessing cup. The stem of the cup is a rendition of the Old Testament prophetess, Miriam, who led her people from slavery.

Get the point CtoAP is making? As long as women can't be priestesses they are still slaves. Did they forget that only men could attain to the Levitical priesthood? & when Miriam stood up to Moses' authority she was stricken with leprosy for daring to question God's working through Moses? Apparently they have forgotten the real lesson of Miriam's behavior.

I suspect she will get even more recognition at the national Call to Action meeting in November where the theme will be (Un)"Faithful Prophets". Sadly, they too will be proclaiming themselves false prophets as they reject God's truth & uphold man's search for his own relativistic truth instead. I refer to the following disingenuous statement from CtoA's FAQ: "theologians and church institutions are called to be free in their search for the truth." In fact, theologians & church institutions are free to search for the truth. But, God's truth, not man's. The truth has already been revealed in Jesus & Scripture & Tradition. All 3 are rejected by CtoA & Sr. Joanie except in so far as it can be twisted to advance their agenda. They don't want eternal truths, that want truth to be based on the latest opinion poll. Like I said, relativistic truth which is not truth.

After reading this I couldn't help but wonder what would happen to her had she lived in OT times. the test of a prophet was if what they predicted came true. Death by stoning was the result of falsely prophecying. Then in past centuries burning at the stake was SOP for dealing with heretics.

Maybe this is a little over the top, but I can imagine the following new report should such proceedures still occur today:

JOANIE CHITTISTER FOUND GUILTY
DECLARED HERETIC & FALSE PROPHET
UNIQUE PUNISHMENT TO BE METTED OUT
(007News) Joanie Chittister (aka Satan's little blueberry muffin) was found guilty of both heresy & being a false prophet by a jury made up of members of the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious in a trial presided over by Archbishop Raymond Burke (Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura).
She has been sentenced to death. This is the 1st time in centuries the Catholic Church has imposed this sentence. While they agreed on the need for such a sentence, a debate arose among the jury as to whether to stone her for being a false prophet or burn her at the stake for being a heretic. In the end they decided to burn her at the stake (using her books as fuel) while throwing stones at her.
1 of the jurors said that the recent Call to Action award was a key piece of evidence in the trial. There was a surprize appearance by Ss. Benedict & Scholatica. They were called by the prosecution for their expert testimony on real Benedictines. The jury said that testimony also played a huge part in their decision.
When asked about why the Vatican was allowing this despite Church teaching opposing the death penalty the Vatican issued the following statement: "Paragraph 2267 states 'the traditional teaching of the Church does not exclude recourse to the death penalty, if this is the only possible way of effectively defending human lives against the unjust aggressor.' Given how Sr. Chittister has refused to recant & vowed to continue to spread her pernacious doctrines we felt this was the only effective way of defending human life, born & unborn, from the damage she would do, especially the spiritual damage."
No date has been set for the execution. When it occurs EWTN will be providing live coverage.

OK, I could go on with how the execution would occur etc. Since this is the 21st Century, not the past, we normally don't execute heretics or false prophets these days. But Sr. Joanie should be grateful we don't & instead offer plenty of time for them to recant & repent. But if she doesn't she just may find herself in a real life version of level 6 of Dante's Inferno.

A greater role for women in the church? My gosh, don't we do enough already! I could be out every night for a week if I volunteered for all we have going on. Time for the men to pick up the slack!

    TH2 Grazie for the link.

As for the picture, well it does show her holding her award.

Interestingly enough, right after I posted it, i went over to LarryD's & found him taking a look at some of Joanie's latest rantings from the LCWR.

Thanks for this gem, and the photograph, which was a shock. I expected a crop-haired, thin-lipped "new woman". But what do we get? Frankengranny!

Good job, Al! Burn her while throwing stones at her - LOL!

To paraphrase an old saying: "Thou shalt not suffer a heretic to live."

    Left-footer - "Frankengranny" - awesome!!

Al, I must catch you out in an historical inaccuracy. The Catholic Church has never passed a death sentence. Heresy was at one time an offense against the civil law as well as an offense against ecclesiastical law, and so it was the secular authorities that executed heretics. The Church only turned over heretics to the secular authorities for trial and punishment after they had proven intractable.

That said, no doubt the false prophets of our day will get out of the traditional punishment for false prophets by deploying something known in the priestess circles as "prophetic obedience."

Anita, I know the Catholic Church per se never had a death penalty (not sure about Papal states though0. What I did falls under the aegis of literary license. The point was her promoing heresy & being guilty of it.

PS "Prophetic obedience" sounds a lot like relativism to me. They are saying the only truth is the truth as I see it. & even God can be wrong. But we will set God straight like you said in your commentary. Which did an excellent job of getting at the heart of their claims.

Anyhow, wasn't their attitutude toward God, we will not serve/ we will become like God etc the reason for Satan's fall in the 1st place??? (Gee maybe that's the origin of their views.)

Just a clarification on who can be a priest. You are quick to quote the bible when discussing miriam and her leprous episode. And you also remind us that only men were called to priesthood. Now, all supersecionism aside, if you are going to stand on OT history, only men from the tribe of levi were able to be priests, hence levitical priest, so not even the guys currently holding priestly positions are legit. The bible only. Sola scriptura. Not solo la scrittura, piu quello che vuol dire il vaticano. You can't have it both ways.

@ Tracy Babini, you might want to read the power a little more carefully. I am not the one who brought up Miriam, Joanie Chittister did to justify women being priests. I never brought up the Old Testament at all. I only referred to what the Catholic Church from New Testament times on did.
As for your sola scriptural rant, that is not the Catholic view.

So, in conclusion,I hate to say it but your so called argument/attack gets an F for accuracy, validity and making any sense at all.
